Im going to a formal dance tonight with my friend. he's nice and its just a friend so like that should be fine and all my friends are going, but like im not getting my hair or nails done and im nervous i wont look nice enough, and that the seniors are gonna like laugh at me or whatever(im a junior). idk why im so nervous and like dreading it .. PLEASE calm my nerves!

You don't need to get your nails or hair done to look pretty. People don't pay attention to your nails, and you will be dancing so much your hair won't matter anyways. You should just try and look the best that you can/want to, and be comfortable with it.

If people are paying more attention to what you look like than the dance itself, then there is a problem.

Just smile and have a good time, looking nice is just for pictures anyways.

16/female. in march im turning 17 and i havent had sex yet... all of my friends have done it already.. so i feel weird when they talk about it around me. some have boyfriends and some have just done it with radom guys at parties (which i dnt want to do).

i feel that im missing out and that im ready to do it for the first time but i dont have a boyfriend and i want my first time to be with someone i can trust and that i can remember it as being spacial.

is it weird that i havent done it yet and everyone else has and the fact i will be 17 soon.. my sister is 19 and she did it when she was 15 so i feel like i should of already.

Don't be influenced by your friends to have sex just because you feel "left out." It's already to be a virgin. In fact, kudos to you for still being one and saving yourself for someone special. would you consider this a double life?

Talking to someone not many know your friends with to begin, and to cyber and touch yourself when doing it. Would that be a double life sorta, since none of your friends or obviously your family know you do it and what not? I'm also a virgin.

You COULD think of it that way, but I don't believe so. It is just something that you do for your enjoyment that's private. Just because you do something no one knows about, doesn't really make it another life. A double life would be something like dating two people at once, or dressing up and pretending to be someone famous, then going home and changing into the real you. Your family and friends do not need to know every little thing you do. It's nice to have something of your own.

ok so im 14/f and still TERRIFIED of the dark. every night when i go to sleep i imagine murderers breaking in and killing me. I don't watch scary movies anymore, just a few here and there. the old ones still come back to haunt me, i'll remember any scary thought when it's nighttime. the fact that my house is PITCH BLACK at night doesn't help at all either. i really really desperately need help, i'm scared to go to bed at night. i can't even get up to go pee because im scared the killer with "hear me". i want to use a nightlight, but i don't want my parents to think i'm a wuss, i mean i'm 14!! PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE help me find a way to be comfortable in my own house at night.

You are not the only one that is afraid of being in the dark. I know plenty of people your age and older who sleep with a night light or a hall light on because they just cannot go through being in the pitch black.

It's not about being a wuss, it's about feeling safe in your own home. If you don't feel safe in the place you live, you shouldn't be afraid to add something like a nightlight to change that. If you parents don't understand that, then fine. YOU want to feel better about the night life, not them. The dark is freaky, but it's not the DARK that you are afraid of, it's what is in it which you need to work on.

If you don't want to try out a nightlight yet, then try keeping your door open a little bit, and keeping some kind of light on. Also, you should probably be the one to lock the doors/windows at night. That way you know for sure no one can get in.

I used this when I was little and still sometimes use it today, and it works like a charm:
When you are lying in bed and thought and pictures come up in your mind of a murderer in your home or whatnot, think of it as a movie. When you see the murderer, pretend there is a director yelling "CUT!" during it, and yelling at the guy for doing a horrible job at the part. Trust me, it may sound stupid, but you'll get a laugh out of it, and eventually fall asleep.

Eventually, you will grow out of it, but for now I suggest you should get a nightlight. If none of these work, maybe you should consider a sleeping aid for a little bit.

When people say someone "completes" their life, and revolves their whole world around that one person. You cannot base yourself on what someone else makes of you, only what you make of yourself.

me and my boyfriend landon really like each other. we have those little fights about whos cuter or who loves each other more. and at school, WE ARE SERIOUSLY ALL OVER EACH OTHER! we tell each other that we love each other. hes all i can think about. and he tells his friends, that he loves me and that all he can think about is me. i really miss him alot, and im going to see him tomorrow. so, does it sound like were in love, or...are we just really close in our relationship?

im 16 - 5'8 - 138 lbs. I used to weigh 150 but recently I've been working out alot and eating healthy. I still have 8 more lbs. to go before I'm at my goal weight but I can't seem to lose anymore weight! I exercise twice a day (mostly cardio) and I eat super healthy. I haven't even been able to lsoe one pound in a week and I've tried exercising more, eating less, I even take a motabolism booster now and NOTHING. what can i do to lsoe those last few pounds?

You need to eat.
If your body doesn't have enough calories to burn, you're not going to loose anything. If you are exercising as much as you say you are, and not eating enough, it's like trying to drive a car with no gas. Keep eating healthy, but you need to eat more, not less.

Okay so i have been dating this one guy for over two years now, and I really love him and care about him. In the first year of our relationship I ended up cheating on him with this one guy who was a good friend of mine, we had ended up making out..well he then left for the millitary and recently i have thought about him and he came home for a christmas leave the other day we met up and ended up making out again. this guy says he really cares deeply for me and wants me to give it a shot with him..but the thing is i love my boyfriend i trully do, and i am not telling him this time around (last time i did and we worked through it) However, i feel like i do have some pretty strong feelings for this other guy and its like i have lost some for my boyfriend because he has been taking his anger and tired-ness out on me a lot and we get into these really bad arguments and sometimes i get scared deep down that he will hit me..but he never has...WHAT DO I DO?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If you are thinking of keeping this from your boyfriend, you've pretty much already have chosen. You can't just say you love this guy then go and make out with someone else. Falling out of love with him or not, you are still in a commited relationship with him. If you have actual FEELINGS for this other guy, and not just an attraction, then break up with your boyfriend. Of course, when you are in a relationship that long you will end up getting somewhat sick of one another and would like to experience what else is out there. I can't tell you which one to choose; it's your heart not mine. But my advice is one way or another, you have to be honest with both of them.

If you still have the phone, take out the battery and place both the phone and the battery in a bowl of dry white rice, then cover the bowl with something. The rice will soak up the water.

If you do not have the phone, if it's snowy where you live then you can shovel drive ways. Other than that you should tell your mom, and use money you get for Christmas to by her a new phone.

I think she will at least be happy you are willing to get her a new one.

okay, well im a girl and im 17.
there's a guy that i talk to quite a bit alone but only after school.We don't have any classes together.(his friend's gf is my close friend, just so you kno)so i wanna find out if he is interested in me @ all and was thinking about askin her bf if he would ever hang out with me, or like just ask him straight up if he'd wanna hang out with me? im not really sure. he's not the most outgoing guy so idk if he'd feel awkward. i dont like him all that much but i would still like to find out ya kno?

Haha I totally understand.

It's hard to find out of a guy is interested, expecually if he's the quiet type. If he is interested, however, and you ask him to hang out, he could get his hopes up, and like you said, you don't like him that way. I guess the only way to find out without being completely obvious that you want to know is have you friend do some undercover work. Don't have her ask straight up, but I guess she can be telling a story that involves you, and she can be like "Yeah ____ is really great, what do you think?" Something suttle like that. You don't want it to be too pushy that it would scare him away, expecually if you ever do want to get together with him. Keep talking to him, however, and if you do ask him to hang out, do it because you enjoy his company, but don't lead him on. Who knows, you might find a sudden interest in him. Keep it sneaky and suttle.

Boys are way too complicated to read, and send out so many mixed signals girls will never understand unless they are told straight up. Just go with the flow of things.
