For physics we were given a kit to make a Mouse Trap powered car. The basic concept is: a string is connected to a lever arm that is attached to the spring of a disassembled mouse trap. You have a loop in the other end of the string, that is loosely hooked onto a small nail in the back axle (which is a wooden rod) and you wind it around the axle which pulls the lever arm back causing tension. When you release the lever arm, its supposed to pull the string and spin the axle causing the car to move.

I can't get the car to move more than an inch or two.
Does anyone know how these are supposed to work and have any tips on how i can get mine to work?

Jeez, its been forever since I did this, but the way we did it was to take the mouse trap and put two wheels on the front, and make a small hole all the way through the back for an axle. Then we cut a little square in the back through the axle hole.
We used either bent out paper clips, or another thin peice of metal as the axle, and little rubber wheels.
The string was wrapped around the axle through the square, and I set mine up so that it could be "fired" (so that my fingers wouldn't get crushed) with a string.
It went a good two dozen feet if I remember correctly.

Does anyone here have an aspire 5100 notebook? Or previously owned it?

I am asking because I need to know the basic information about it. Researching is fine. I did google it up, so don't tell me to Google it before asking. I got the basic information such as the size of the screen, the hard drive capacity, and its memory.

But also I would like to know if anyone has used it or had any experience with it to tell me if it was a good notebook to you, what is its battery life, and how long does it take to charge it? Websites really didn't give me a number so maybe you can help me.

Also, how many applications can you have on it at once? I know the by the size of it, it varies. But like, could I use AIM, internet explorer, and Microsoft Word at the same time?

Experienced users would be excellent, but people who successfully researches this for me is great, too.

i'm trying to loose weight by not eating. im not going anarexic but im just like eat a LOT less.. how long is it going to take for me to be VISIBLY skinnier?

There are MUCH more healthy and better ways to loose wieght effectivly and keep it off. Not eating will cause you to loose weight, but it will also cause youre body to start to die.

When you dont have enought nutrients going into your body, it starts to eat itself and everything in your body gets weakened thus making you more susceptible to illness and such.

If you continue this and do loose weight, then eat normally, then you will gain the weight right back.

Continuing this STUPID wieght loss thing creates a large chance of becomming anorexic or bulemic, and is, well...STUPID.

Talk to me about better wieght loss options, or be nice to MikeCFT and he might give you some exellent advice.

Either way, EAT FOOD.

hey i was wondering how you put your same buddylist on another sn? i know that, for the old aim, you just save it, and open it up again on your new sn... but ive had aim triton/6.0 for a while now and i love it, i just dont know how to transfer my buddies ? i finally figured out how to link screenames, so i just need the buddies on it.

If you link your old and new screen names together in Triton, then you can just drag the buddies into your new name from your old one, then unlink the old one.

Today I was hangin' out at Taco Bell w/ a bunch of my friends, who were all guys. They claimed that men were better than women at pretty much everything. Then when I disagreed, they said to me, "Ok, name one thing that women are better at than men." I was stuck. Then they started laughing 'cause I didn't say anything. They were like, "Yeah, all these great geniuses and inventors, like Einstein and all, all men." It made me so mad, and embarassed. They said they were just messin' with me, but I somehow can't believe that. I feel like they meant what they were saying. Should I confront them again? Or should I just let it slide and hope it doesn't come up again(maybe they were just kidding after all).

Some basic facts of life to use against men:

Women live longer then men by many years (on average)

women mature and develop faster (speech, comprehension, ect.)


I doubt they have the mental capacity (like most teenagers) to do more than stutter a mumbled "uhhh..your mom" after telling them that basically, girls may not gain higher places in the world, but they live longer, so who wins?

And yes, I am betraying my own kind...But I liked this question. :)

It is a misconception that limewire is illegal. Lime wire is legal when you pay for it, OR when during the installation process you select the option to not share your music on your computer with other users.

Also try purevolume.com (they are free and legal), but their selection is not nearly that of Limewire.

if im on the computer for example, google, aim, advicenators, youtube, itunes, etc etc. every once in awhile my tower makes this sound. im not sure if its the fan but thats where its coming from, that general area. it sounds like a freaking vacuum!! its really loud and annoying. after about 2 minutes it totally stops, but then might start up again a few hours later. it just did it twice in 10 minutes. what is this?? thanks!!

As Laguanababe said, yes, it is the fan inside your computer. If you put your hand around to the back of it you should feel hot air blowing out. This is air being blown through your computer to cool it down, because otherwise it would overheat and die.

Will taping your nose up eventually chnage the structure of your nose? and would it have any effect on your nose passages, and whatnot? thanks. x x

In order to change the shape of youre nose with tape, it would have to be really tight, squashing your nose, and it would not be comfortable at all. There is a severe probabilty that it would cause damage.
You would have to tape it for so long, like all the time, it would look stupid, probobly hurt, cause damage, ect.
If you want to alter your nose structure the only solution is surgery.

The only way for the earring to go all the way through if if you shove it all the way through.
It will most likely hurt quite a bit.

Take the earring out, let it heal, and go to a professional who can peirce your ear in the same spot that you tried (so that you dont see a scar).

ok. i love making stir fry. i love my boyfriend who loves stir fry too. The other day i was cutting up some onions and salting up some broccolli when my boyfriend sexually caressed my rear quarters. i began becoming so exhilirated until the point I COULD NOT TAKE IT ANYMORE! in a blink of an eye IT WAS ON! the next thing i know im naked on the floor laying on broccolli. i was upset because my fry was burnt and looked like crap. i love my boyfriend but if he keeps turning me on and messing up my stir fry then its over. what should i do? i really need stir fry in my life..ha as wierd as it sounds. stir fry over sex.

okay so, I used to like this one boy A LOT lets call him Alex. this was back in october. Well, Alex and I talked, but not as much as I wanted to. We were friends, sorta, But I didn't think he liked me. Then this other kid, lets call him Mike, asked me out. I liked Mike a little bit, but not nearly as much as I liked Alex, but I didn't think Alex liked me, so I said yes to Mike. After about a week I decided it wasn't fair to Mike, if I went out with him, while liking Alex way more, so I broke up with him. Then one of my girlfriends, lets call her Mellisa, was talking to Alex (they're pretty good friends), and she asked about me. Alex said that he used to like me A LOT, and that he was going to ask me out, but then I went out with Mike, so he wasn't sure if he still liked me. Currently, I really really really really realy like Mike. But I'm still not sure if he likes me, so should I move on, and try to find a new guy, or should I keep trying for Mike? Thanks sooo much.

Ok, well it seems to me that you are stressing out a little bit too much. You are 13 and have a whole lotta living to do, and this is not the last boy that you will love. But... to answer your question,do what feels right to you. If you think it appropriate to do so, then sit down with Alex and tell him how you feel, if you dont want to, then dont. Trust me, there will be plenty of boys in the future.
So go with what makes you feel happy, if thats Alex, Mike, or nobody.

My guy friend of six years is getting married in the fall. My boyfriend is going to be standing up in his wedding. I was invited, of course, but I am worried about going because I won't have anyone to sit with at dinner. Since my boyfriend is standing up, he has to eat with the other members of the wedding party. Would it be rude of me to ask the groom if I can bring a friend so I'm not sitting around by myself the whole time? Or should I just stick it out?

No I do not think its rude. Ask him if you can bring a girlfriend of yours, or maybe someone who is friends with you and the groom.

Well, as soon as I get home from my game, dad jumps on me because I changed the password to my computer so my sister wouldn't be able to get on because she was online for four hours at the library and she doesn't need to be on for more than an hour. Well, some background information, my sister ids depressed, and she cuts, and she's been like this for like three years and her medical expenses is what drove my family in the poor house basically. Any hoo, I get home and I hear it from my dad. and I tell my mom that I already got bitched out from my dad and I don't wanna hear it from me. Then I don't even know what happened....we started going at it because of my sister. Yada yada. And this fight went on for like over an hour. I said some horrible things. So after a while, I went to talk to my mom for an hour because for some reason I made her cry, and that puts a big cloud of guilt over me. So I went and talked to her and even though she said she's sorry, and I said I was sorry, and she told me that she loves me and yeah, she still seems very upset at me. Or it just might be the guilt talking. But how can I make things right with my mom again? And also, how can I control what I say cussing wise to my mom and dad?

Yes unfortunatley one of the side effects of being human is that we have these feelings like guilt and such. We all sometimes say things we regret, and the only way to deal with that it to say your sorry and be sincere and let time work it out.
Maybe you need to talk to your mom again, and tell her why you did what you did, and that you regret it?
Otherwise, let time work things out, and Im sure youre mom is or will be ok. Besides, she is your mom and should understand, or at least forgive, because we all make mistakes.

This can usually be done with any old picture editing program. I like to use Microsoft Picture Manager because it is easy to use, and it can do most of what I need.
If you dont have this program, then you probobly have something similar on your computer.

Now to do this, in your editing program get to your color, brightness, ect. and just fool around untill you find what you like.

i saw this question and i was wondering if you have a step by step way to do it cause i have MPM too.

Sure!

1) Go to wherever you have your picures saved (my pictures, or whichever folder they are in)and right click on the picture you want to edit.

2)You will see the option "Open With" and there will be a list of things to open with such as Word, paint, ect. There will also be microsoft picture manager as an option. Click it.

3) Once your picture is open in the program,click on "Edit Pictures" underneath file&such, but to the right.

4) You should see a screen to the right that has such options as brighness and contrast, color,ect...Have fun wuth them.

I have changed my picture in my collumn temporarily just to show a picture that I have fiddled with. I did this by fooling around with different combinations of contrast, midtones, hue, and saturation (which you will find with color and brightness and such.
