limewire, morpheus, kazaa, winmx... i'm not quite sure if the last three are still available or not. here's a warning though: with stuff that's free like that, you can get viruses and spyware and adware and all kinds of crap on your computer. so make sure your virus protection software is up to date. you should be able to download those at download.com, or just google them to download.

Just an addition to previous posts:

It is a misconception that limewire is illegal. Lime wire is legal when you pay for it, OR when during the installation process you select the option to not share your music on your computer with other users.

Also try purevolume.com (they are free and legal), but their selection is not nearly that of Limewire.

Here are the most popular peer-to-peer protocals. Each application under a protocal(bittorrent, gnutella1, gnutella2, ares) can work with the other applications under that protocal. So anything you can download with frostwire can be downloaded with limewire. None of these applications include malware, and all are free.

--ares:

--edonkey 2k:
-emule: [Link](Mouse over link to see full location)

And for fast use, there's altavista audio search:

I listed the best applications for each protocol above, there are others. Shareaza can handle 4 out of the 5 peer-to-peer protocols, so I recommend you try that one.

The ipod can play MP3 and M4A files only. If you download music in another format, put the format of the file you want to convert in the beginning of this search:
