Well, let me clarify that I am not at all racist in any way, shape or form.
My mom is, though. She's always talking about African Americans as if they were criminals or something. She's always saying "Don't hang out with those black kids" or "Those black people are trouble/mean/not proper/etc" That's my MOM's view on them. Not me.
Well, I want to take a extracurricular activity & the only places that teach that activity are in the city/downtown. And my mom doesn't want me going there and stuff because "The place is filled with black people and it's not a safe/nice environment to go to." But I really want to take that activity and I hate learning through videos and DVD's. But there aren't any place else where I live. I've googled & looked on yellow pages. And my mom doesn't want to drive me there often. So what should I do about this?
I can maybe convince her that I won't be drugged or killed. [She always thinks I'll get drugged, raped, or killed even if I go to like a friend's house. Paranoia.] I mean she encouraged me to take on the activity herself but now that she knows where the schools are located at, she might be backing out of her words...
Let me just say I know how you feel I have a friend who's dad is against african americans and its just awful how parents stoop that low
there's really nothing you can do about your moms opinion towards african americans but how she's acting is really not necessary for a mother to act especially at this age . She can dislike african americans but to not allow you to go to a certain place just because they might be around is stupid she needs to understand that there going to be around every where no matter where you are in life. Try making her understand this .

This may sound horrible, but I am getting so bored of my friends now.
They are all getting into all this new stuff, like all the scene kid stuff. You know? And they are getting so concieted(sp??) and becoming myspace whores. It seems like all they want to do is either sit around, or sit around on myspace. And they constantly make fun of what I like etc.
Not only are they getting quite annoying, they are getting quite boring also!
Like I said, the only thing they want to do is go on myspace. They used to be so fun, so active. I don't know what to do now, because I don't just want to ditch them.
But whenever I try talking to them, they just blow me off.
Try making new friends people who'd you'd actually wanna be around with lol
You don't have to ditch them or not talk to them but you could still keep small talk conversations once in a blue moon just to show them that you haven't ditched them and that you still care.

Hunn move on fine yourself a new best friend maybe try talking to some one new in one of your classes
Your friend is moving on to meeting new people you should too there's no such thing as "only 1" you could more than friend I'm not saying forget about this one but to maybe meet new friends and still call her once in a while just to show her you still care

This question is just to get opinions:
If someone you knew told you that they cut themselves, what would your first reaction be? Would you think they were crazy, would you try to help them, would you be scared of them, or what?
I wouldn't think their crazy but just that they need help I'd try to talk them out of it and kinda ask them what's been troubleling him or her I'd get help for them not because I want them to get into trouble but because I care enough to try to help them .

i go to a vocational/technical school, i live in massachusetts, but anyways i hate the school and i want to go to some high school any high school besides my town high school. i was wondering what school im eligible to go to? but will it matter if i dont live near the high school? and if this helps at all i live in "billerica". i've talked about it to my parents, well maybe just my mom and she says its fine if i transfer out.
Every city is strict when it comes to school districts and every one in it
What you could do is get some ones or a relatives address in a city they live in and ask them if you could use there address but make sure you know the person that will be lending there address to you so that when you go to the new school you can say what your relation to the person (aunt,uncle,cousin)
If you manage to get an address go to your school and tell them you want what's called a"transfer" of all your schools records to the new school you'll be going to then when you go to the new school just bring either a gas electric or phone bill of the address you'll be using in order to be able to go to the new school in a new city it may be a good idea to bring the person who's name is under the electric bills name
If you manage to do this all you need to do is find a way of getting to school everyday lol ! and keep this low don't go around saying you live in billerica because then you'll be on the next bus back to ur voc school and you can get into a lot of trouble for forging an address

Its good that you realized you need help because cutting is a serious thing that could injure you badly. If you feel like you can't tell your parents go to someone you think you'd feel comfortable talking to . For example some one like a teacher, doctor, school guidance, a good trust worthy friend, but I'd recommend just talking to your parents about it try telling them why your doing it and what makes you want to just hurt yourself like that your parents are the only ones who'd truly be able to know why your doing it because they know you well I mean after all your are there responsibility. Please stop cutting its not a good habit and it could kill you all its doing is leaving marks behind so that later on you could remember why you cut on that specific spot its not going to help you face the problem its basiclly running away from it and "taking the pain away" which I think isn't much help.

Hi! I have dark eye circles and i HATE them! I put cover up under them and my friends say they aren't very noticable but i know they are there and to me that is all that matter! haha anyway i hav tried putting tea bags on my eyes but i must have had an allergic reaction (which is weird because i can drink the tea but i guess my face was sensitive) anywayafter a couple minutes it was burning so bad i went to my bathroom and took them off and all around my eyes it was bright red and stung really bad! if i did it wrong please help me but i would preferr other ways of reducing dark eye circles. Stop using tea bags !!! Tea bags are only used to reduce swelling around or on the eye
Apply cucumber juice buy cucumbers at the grocery store cut and mash it in order to make it into cucumber juice
Drink at least 10-12 glasses of water a day .
And most importantly
GET ENOUGH SLEEP!!!!! It is important to get atleast 8 hours of sleep .

so i asked my mom about a perm, she didnt say no but i can tell she is trying to talk me out of it she keeps on saying "that was a thing back in the 80's and it doesnt even curl your hair it basically just crimps it and makes it weird and kinky"

Getting a perm can really mess up your hair if not taken proper care of ....
But for what your mom says is tru depending what type of hair you have and how well the person doing your hair does it
If you get it done just make sure to ask how to take care of it so it won't ruin your natural hair

Well I am really awful at showing my feelings. Well, there is this boy i have a crush on and I can't even show him that I have feelings for him. What are some small acts of affection I could do so he might see that I care about him.
-Start with some small talk for example
"Hey wats up?" "how was your day?"
it'll give him an idea that you care enough to see what he's doing.
-Everytime you see him greet him like give him a hug or just say hi

i'm 16yrs old, &&' my mom found out that i smoke marijuana. I told my cousin, my cousin told her mom, and her mom told my mom. She's all crying and stuff, because she found out. My mom and dad both smoke marijuana, so i don't see why she cares. My mom isn't like a regular mom, she asked me why i didn't tell her. your mom is only upset at the fact that your following in her and your dads bad footsteps you seem to see them doing it making you believe its ok for you to do it WHEN ITS NOT! But then again I'm not going to ramble on about how bad it is for you bla bla but your mom shouldn't be surprised I mean if she's doing it then obviously your going to think its ok

I am finally getting a job, so when I told my parents about how I won't need their money to go the mall anymore I felt mature and glad I wasen't going to have to keep asking them from cash. Well, in the middle of the conversation my mom was like "You do know that you are putting a third in the bank and giving a third to us right?" I couldn't believe that I have to pay them my money. My dad was like "Well what about our hard earned money? We give it to you two (my sister and I) all the time. Besides the family needs it." Um hello, isn't that what you two are for? My mom thinks since I have a job I have to pay "room and board" WTH?! Are my parents being unreasonably rediculous here???
(Keep in mind I'm earning minimum wage here, so saving up for anything now is foolish)

Because that same thing is happening with me my parents want third of my checks too trust me I've tried arguying about it with them tons of times and that doesn't help I've tried reasoning with them still that doesn't work its ridiculous and really low how they act this way but if I were you I'd try those two options *reasoning* *arguying* I don't know your parents so maybe there diffrent and maybe it will work

I got my nails done about 5 weeks ago so they are looking uglyyy right now. my natural nail takes up half of the tip.

-can i still get fill ins after they are already this grown out and get them shorter and have my nail the same length at the acrylic?

yea if you go back to where you got them done just tell them you want to get fill ins but before they start fixing your nails just tell that person that you want them to turn out at the exact length it was to start out with .....my advice is I wouldnt get them taken off because it hurts like a :] ...yeaa lol

Well hun you need to make a choice.....either stay with the person you've been with of one year or decide to end it with him for a guy you've just started hanging out with. But then again you already made a choice because you don't feel the same with your boyfriend when he tries to kiss you and stuff and basiclly there's no spark there anymore. My uncle has the hotts for me. What should I do?
I know because:
1. At family gatherings when I wear things like short skirts, he always asks me to bend over to pick up random stuff he doesn't need.
2. He always follows me especially when i go to the bathromm or am getting changed and since i'm his only neice he ignores everyone else and says i am "special"
3. One time our family was watching a movie and he MADE me sit on his lap.

i can see why you would be mad he was your first kiss its called "jelousy" hunn and it sucks from my point of view id probably say you cant stand seeing him with someone else which is normal but a boy isnt something to go getting mad at your friend for besides you have a boyfriend try putting your feelings aside and build a friendship with your ex you can never have too many of those =)
