Every day I'd look at my best gal pal and she'd always be in lala land thinking about her boyfriend. They've been going out for a year, 1 month, and 3 days (i know it's weird how i know that, but she acctually counts the days and tells me)! We used to be so close to eachother, but now she's not that much of a best friend to me. sure she can be a friend to me and everyone else, but she doesn't gve me that much of a BEST FRIEND kind of feeling. I want to be there for her like she was there for me on those lowscale terms, but i just can't take it! She told me her boyfriend was moving on the last day of school but i don't know if i can be there for her, or if i should even be there for her at all. what am i supposed to do?

Stick by her & help her out. Just because she has a boyfriend & may not be acting like your best friend right now, that doesn't mean she isn't. She obviously seems really connected with her bf & attached to him. Therefore, him moving will be a huge issue in her life & will need help. If you can talk to her & help her out, she'll feel better & will know that she has someone there for her other than her boyfriend. A lot of girls get extremely clingy with their bfs because they think that he loves them way more than anyone else. Unfortunately, this isn't the case all the time. Whether she knows it right now or not, she probably needs you as a best friend also. If this situation was reversed, you wouldn't want your friend to ditch you. Talk to her about it. There's nothing wrong with letting her know that you don't feel as good of a friend to her anymore. If you really do not want to be her friend, you have to tell her also.

ok i'm going to six flags *st louis* friday with my girlfriend, a mutual friend of ours, and my twin brother.


it's not like i want to ditch the two others (i really don't want to leave our friend with my brother if you know what i mean. . . ) but i want to get some privacy (at least from them) at one or two points during the day. . .

There's no rule saying that you have to stay with them the whole day. Yes, it would be extremely rude to ditch them but you can go off with your gf politely also. Since your twin brother & mutual friend are both going, you have a few options. You could be honest & tell your brother ahead of time that you want some alone time with your girlfriend. He most likely will understand & listen to you. That way he can say to your friend "oh hey lets go off & do this." If you feel uncomfortable doing that, you have to realize that a lot of rides on six flags are two seaters. You can talk to her there also. If it really isn't working, while you guys are at the park you can say "oh hey were going to do this real quick, be right back" & meet up with them later. As long as you spend an equal/close amount of time with both, it should work out fine.

I've liked this kid Jerry for about 4 and a half months now. When I first met him he was going out with someone named Della, but he broke up with her. Now, he goes out with my not-very-close friend Jessica.

Well, I can't describe how much I like this kid. It feels like love but I know it's not because love takes two people, and I'm only 13. He knows I like him, and last I heard he does like me, but I don't know if he still does. He said he liked me when him and Della were going out, according to a friend. It feels like love though, and I feel like crap, especially since i like him at such a high degree. I've never liked anyone as much as him. I feel like throwing up when i see him and when he walks into class i start to shake and blush. . i don't know what i'm going to do about the sumemr. everytime i even think about liking someone else i feel like i'm cheating on him, even though i'm not. i feel like tied down by him, and i like it. i'd give all the money i had to be his girlfriend, or do anything i could. i've been feeling so incomplete lately because I can't and won't ever have him.

Hey relax, you're only 13. Believe it or not a lot of girls feel this way. I'm not going to tell you that you're too young to be in love, because I was that age, but you're too young to be sick over it just because he's dating. He does have a girlfriend & you need to respect that. What's wrong with being friends with him? Talk to him & get to know him. There's nothing wrong with that. Instead of wanting a boyfriend out of him right away, go for a friendship first. Even if you are friends, you can still talk to him. Try not feeling tied down because you aren't. You're right, two people are needed for a relationship. What's wrong with dating around? Nothing. You might even find a guy who you may love like him. You can't doubt it if you haven't tried. There are plenty of fish in the sea. Even though I dislike that quote, it's true, especially for a 13 year old. You don't need to go out & get a boyfriend to get over him, but it's ok to date around. If he knows how you feel, then there's nothing else you can do. If he doesn't, let him know. You don't want to miss out. He might need some reminding because guys aren't always good at picking that stuff out. Maybe he likes you too but doesn't think he has a chance with you. You never know with guys sometimes. You can't say you won't ever have him though. You can still try.

I'm a teenage girl who needs to lose about 20 pounds to be healthy- and I'm working on that now. My problem is- I'll go 2 days with having only 1200 calories... and then the next day i'll feel so deprived and try to only have a little bit of an indulgence (i.e half a cup of ice cream) only i'll just eat liek 4 cups without being able to stop.

I have dance classes 3 days a week- and the other days I try to work out (ill do 20 mins treadmill/20 elliptical/20 stairclimber+random conditioning) so i guess i'm pretty active? but I have a crappy metabolism apparently because i'm still "overweight". I'm an hourglass though so i look fine. I'm 5'2 1/4" and 156 lbs.

So I want to know how many calories I should consume daily- I want to be able to fit in some kind of a treat every day so I won't feel deprived. And I really like starbucks and I wish I could drink it every day.


So if you're thin i'd like to know what you do to stay in shape...

I wouldn't say I'm extremely thin. I am a healthy size. I do not play a sport & haven't due to injuries. I eat between 1200-1500 calories daily. I try not to exceed 1700. Working out 3-5 days a week is fine. I would suggest doing the treadmill & stairs though. I don't do anything special really. For breakfast I eat special K. For lunch I eat a variety of fruits, a granola bar, & a raspberry yogurt [smaller portion]. For dinner I have a meat with veggies & I eat snacks throughout the day. My snacks vary from grahm crackers to pretzels. I would suggest drinking a lot of water. So you don't binge out, do not deprive yourself from sweets. You will only do good for so long & totally forget your diet & eat a ton. Trust me on that one. Instead of always eating healthy foods, pick a snack you like. Whether its a chocolate bar or a cookie. Eat it daily or every other day. Since you're trying to lose 20 lbs, I'd suggest doing it every other day. That way you won't binge out & you can control yourself because you'll get a taste of it. If you feel that you need to eat icecream or cake, remember your goal. Maybe you want to carry it around with you on a post-it note. That may sound stupid, but can help you a lot. Icecream is not always bad for you either. It is only fattening in large amounts. A cup will not hurt your weight whatsoever. As long as you stay active & eat right, which includes water, milk, & servings of fruits & veggies, you will see great results. Good luck & stay focused!

Okay, so i shaved a part of my facial hair off, because it looked like i had a mustache. And, that was yesturday. And now, you can totally tell i shaved the facial hair off, because there's one part of my face thats basically blank. And i have to go to a party today. So, what should i do? PLEASE HELP. What should i do to get rid of the mustache line? I look like a boy now..HELP!

Ok I do not want to freak you out, NEVER EVER shave your upper lip. You know how guys get that shadow after they shave? Girls can get that too. It will make it look much worse & will look like you have an actual mustache. One time is ok [you'll still see a mustache], but do not do it again.

There are a few ways to do it. You can pluck them with tweezers [painful at first but you can see good results] or you can wax it by going to a salon. You could trim it, but it may still be noticable. Since your party soon, I would suggest plucking them for now. Here's an article-

Yes, plucking is painful, but since your party is soon you could try it. Next time, try going to a salon & getting it waxed or bleached. Since you're short for time, you can't really fix it now. You might want to use a good cover up to lighten the dark spots up a bit. The best option would probably be waxing.

Mostly, not many people will take notice. Put some makeup on & try covering it up as best you can. You might want to try getting rid of the extra facial hair also.

I know being bulimic isnt good but i dont understand how people do it. i know i cant make myself throw up even when i am sick how do people force themselves to throw up?

Do you mean mentally or physically? Physically it would be wrong to tell you that because forcing yourself to throw up is completely unhealthy. Mentally it will only truly make sense to people with an eating disorder. For example, the way you feel about throwing up even when you are sick, how gross & disgusting it is, bulimia patients feel the same way not throwing up. They feel disgusted & grossed out leaving the food in them & gaining weight. That is the closest interpretation you would be able to understand. They are completely bothered by leaving food & fats in them, but they know they have to eat to stay healthy & alive. I guess its just one of those diseases where you only understand if you are going through it yourself. If you want to learn more about bulimia, try googling it.

Every girl is different. Obviously, the point of being "felt up" or whatever is to get some pleasure out of it. It all depends on whats happening & how the guy is going about it. Girls would not let guys do it if it wasn't somewhat enjoyable.

Okay, I have been single for four years & I have the hardest time with it. I'm starting to like someone & I really want this guy to like me as much as I am liking him. I guess I would just enjoy advice on what to do in this situation so I don't screw this up like I have for the past 4 years of heartbroken chaos.

You should talk to him about it. First, relax. You're only 15 & are not even finished with high school yet. A lot of guys/girls your age are single. Do not try to go for a boyfriend yet, try to go for a friend. Talk to him whenever you can, joke around, be nice, ask him questions, etc. After he gets to know you for a bit, ask him on group dates. For example, get a bunch of your friends together [girls & guys] & invite him with you. Maybe out to eat, movies, mall, just hanging out, etc. That way it won't be awkward & weird. You can't expect him to like you right away. If you worry about screwing up, you'll most likely make yourself nervous & will. Take it slowly, there is no need to rush. Get to know him better & let him get to know you. The more you guys talk/hang out, the closer friends you'll be. You can't jump into a relationship with someone you aren't friends with first. Technically you can, but in most cases it won't go anywhere. Once you guys are closer friends & go on a few dates, then you can let him know how you feel. Don't tell him right away. Some guys do not like that sort of thing. Once you get to know him you'll be able to tell if it would be a good idea to let him know your feelings.

ok so heres the deal, i know its illegal to purchase alcohol under 21, does that go for drinking to? and if you got drunk or drank would you be able to be sent to jail for it if your under 21, cuz ive been wasted and im 13.. i know what could happen being underage, do lecture me, im just wondering, and i havent drank since that i can remember.

Drinking alcohol under the age of 21 is definately illegal. If you were caught drunk or if it was in your possession, you would get into loads of trouble with the law. Also, if there is an adult who gave you the alcohol, they will also be in a lot of trouble with the law & would most likely go to jail with a large fine. Your punishment all depends. A lot of the cases are different, but all are punishments.

Put yourself in her position. How would you feel if your boyfriend was flirting with a girl that liked him. You wouldn't feel too good right? I know you say you like him a lot & what not, but can't you tell he may not be the best boyfriend by what he is doing? If he can't stay faithful to his girlfriend now, what makes you think he will stay faithful to you? You should really think about those types of things. You may say, "yeah but he might really like me", but if he's dating her, why wouldn't he like her? I'm not saying you need to stop your friendship with him, but it would probably be a good idea to stop your flirting. You getting upset when you see them together is definately normal. You're allowed to talk to him about that, but you shouldn't flirt.

Leave it go. Girls always do those kinds of things at sleepovers. If you were there, you would probably go along with it if they were prank calling someone else. If you are really bothered by it, tell them. Maybe say "I would appreciate it if you did not prank call me at 1 am" but that might cause unwanted drama. They most likely did not mean anything by it.

So I was Looking at my iTunes library, and it said shared files on the side and it had my sisters limewire! how can i get those songs on my iPod, cuz i really like those songs.

Go into your sister's iTunes library on whatever account she uses. If she uses a different window account, you'll have to sign into that one.

Next, go to Start, My music. If she has an iTunes library, all you have to do is leave that open, open up Start, My Computer, then Shared Documents. Drag & drop all of the music that you want from limewire onto the shared documents, then when you go back onto your account or library, go into Shared Documents & open them one by one. If she does not have iTunes, her music is most likely stored somewhere. If you do not know where, ask her & then do the same thing. Put them in Shared Documents & open them on your own account.

i seriously cannot put nail polish on right

this is a stupid question considering im 14 but::

Okay this can be somewhat tricky sometimes. First make sure your nails are the length you want them because some nail polishes really do last awhile & it will look funny if you have to cut them. Next, put down a towel/paper towel when you paint your nails. It's a pain to have to get nail polish off surfaces/floors. Dip the nail polish brush in the nail polish & swipe each side of it on the side of the bottle [near the top] so there isn't clumps of nail polish on your brush. Next, put on one light layer of nail polish on each fingernail. After thats done, wait for it to dry. It should only take a few minutes, but it has to be totally dry. After its dry, do a second coat the same way. That way it's light to begin with, won't get all clumpy, & the next light coat will make the color darker.
Let that dry before you do anything. When you are actually painting your nails, do light strokes from the bottom of your nail to the top in sections, so go back to the bottom & go to the top, etc. etc.

lately i haven't been eating. & when i do, it's very little, & i check the calories to make sure it's like, 100.
when i feel sickly, i binge.
so far no one has noticed.. but i want to be healthy. i just can't bring myself to eat that much.
i don't know what i should do.
if i tell my parents, they'll probably baby me & make me see a doctor & constantly check me & i don't want that/think i need that.
i'm not fat, but i'm definitely not as skinny as other girls in my grade.
i'm done growing, so i know i won't grow into my weight.
i'd like to lose 10-15 pounds.
i'm obsessed with calories. i always run on my treadmill but the exercise doesn't help.
i only see a difference when i skip meals.
i don't know what to do with myself.

I've been doing the same things you are for a really long time. Let me tell you, it is not easy. I get really upset when I eat certain foods, but lets face it, no one is perfect. Do not freak out if you eat something that has a lot of calories. I've learned from my friends that not all calories are bad calories. Now I just try focusing on the fat calories & of course how much sodium & sugar I eat. Any exercise helps, especially running. Here are a few tips-

-Eat breakfast. It doesn't have to be a 3 course meal, but any breakfast is better than none. Try Special K or any other type of cereal you like. Fruit would also be a good option.
-Eat as much fruits & veggies as you can. They're really good for you & can substitute a lot of snacks that you really don't need.
-If you want low calorie products, try the 100 calorie packs or Special K bars. They are only 90 calories & are really good.
-Make sure you eat some meat also. If you are a vegetarian then that's a different story.
-Exercise a few times a week. It doesn't have to be really long either. Try running for 20-30 minutes & see how that goes. You have to be patient, you will not see results right away.
-Don't skip meals. I know it may be difficult to break that habit, but it really doesn't help you.

If you think you have a full eating disorder, try going for help. Just because you may be thin, does not mean you are healthy. There are a lot of girls who are bigger, but are also a lot healthier than girls who weigh only 100 lbs. Be satisfied with who you are. Every body type is different. Just because there are really thin girls in your grade doesn't mean you should look that way. As long as you exercise & eat right, you'll lose weight in a healthy way. Don't cut yourself short either. There's nothing wrong with eating sweets & junk food once in awhile. Just watch your portion control. Also, make sure you drink a lot of water. It helps hydrate your body & helps you lose weight. 4-8 bottles a day is a good amount.

It all depends on age & your body type. Here's a calculator you can use-

Fill in your information. Another way to do it would be looking at the nutrition facts on products you eat. It should not be higher than 40% fat. For example, if whatever you're eating has 100 calories & underneath it it says 15 fat calories, you take 15 divided by 100 which gives you 15% fat, which is under 40% so that's okay to eat.

so, todays my confirmation, and if your catholic, or know anyone that is catholic, you know its a pretty big deal.

well, first of all, let me tell you something about my family, they OBESS over baseball. like, my littlest brother is on this big travel team, and my mom has him go to these private baseball lessons, with like these minor league baseball people, or something, and my mom and dad pay them like 100 dollars. and my brother doesn't even like baseball that much. and my mom always says, if he plays really good, he can get ice cream. and its like total bribs. and my other brother gets attention from like the sports he plays and stuff too. and ok, im not a sporty person, im tottaly girlie. like reallly girlie. and i dont see anything wrong with that, because im girl, i dont wanna play stupid sports. and its not that im jealous either, because my mom buys me anything i want. so its not that.

but anyways, back to the whole confirmation thing, all my parents talk about is baseball,baseball,baseball. and so yano today im making my confirmation, tottaly huge, and my dad says to me.. "Check online to see if theres any baseball games before you confirmation." and im likee. rawr. and its not even my brothers baseball games, he like 'wanted to check out our teams competition' and its like RAWR. who cares. today is suppose to be my day. and it just really annoys me.

and my one brother even agrees with me that all we do is obbess over baseball. and we've even said something to them, and they still keep talking about it. like all the time, 24/7

You should talk to them about it. Confirmation is a big thing. Maybe they don't realize they're doing it. Explain to them about the whole baseball thing & what not. That's the only thing you can do to bring it to their attention. Try keeping your cool though & don't sound disrespectful.

I got my period after like 4 months of not having it ....it was light at first and it just got a little more heavy. My first question is how long can i leave a tampon in and Should i be worried about it dripping into the ocean and attracting sharks. And should i be worried about tss or what ever??? Thanks!!

First off, tampons can be in around 4 hrs. Any longer than that and TSS could happen. It is a bit rare though, but just change it every 4 hrs at most. Some boxes say 6 hrs, but I think that's a little too much. About the ocean, you probably shouldn't worry about that. People don't usually go out that far anyway. Plus, the ocean is huge & there would need to be lots of it.

the thing is i'm SO DETERMINED when i go to sleep at night and when i'm full, but if i'm hungry, all of a sudden i lose motivation and decide bingeing on junk food is more important than my goal. how do i stop this? i want to lose this weight so bad.

You can't lose your stomach, you need it. Losing weight in your stomach? You can do that. First off, realize that everyone is shaped differently. Most likely, you can exercise & eat right & somehow still have a bit of a stomach. That's how it is in some cases. You don't need to be hungry to lose weight. Here are a few tips & tricks to losing weight.

-Eat a full breakfast. None of this 'skipping meals' junk, especially not breakfast. Some ideas would be Special K or other cereals like Cherrios [just not sugary stuff]. Fruit would be good too.
-Lunches should be simple & somewhat filling so you don't snack all day. Fruits, Veggies, Sandwiches, Crackers, etc.
-If you want a snack, grab some fruit, veggies & dip, crackers, pretzels, etc. Watch your sodium though. Too much sodium & sugar is not good for you.
-Stay away from soda. If you're obsessed with soda, I would suggest drinking Gingerale then.
-Dinner should have 3 settings. A meat, a veggie, and a side dish. Whatever you like, just not too much. Watch your portion control.
-Eat a snack sometime after. Try not eating after 7-8 pm.

Those are just some types. I would suggest exercising 5 times a week for good results. Running & crunches are the best exercises for losing stomach fat. Keep yourself motiviated. If you feel hungry at night, don't binge. Eat more food that is good for you. Some grahm crackers & milk or 100 calorie packs are good too. You're the only one who can stop yourself from eating junk food in the long run. Keep yourself focused. Imagine how you want yourself to look when you're getting these cravings. Don't cut yourself short though. Junk food sometimes is not a bad thing. You just need to watch how much you eat of it & how often you eat it. Other than that, you should see yourself losing at least 5 lbs sooner or later. Going to a nutritionest might be useful also.
