uisforukelele answered Sunday May 20 2007, 8:58 pm: yes, it is illegal to purchase and/or consume alcohol under the age of 21. it is also illegal to give alcohol to a minor (under 21). however, it isn't a big deal if your parents let you have a sip or something because it's not enough to mess up your system and you're under supervision so you don't do anything stupid, like crash a car. just stay away from alcohol until you're 21. you have plenty of time after that when you can get wasted all you want and you won't get thrown in jail. the police probably wouldn't send you to jail per se, but they could do other things, like suspend your driver's license or maybe even make you do community service. i'm not sure about the punishment, but hopefully you won't ever have to deal with the punishment because hopefully you won't get completely smashed again until you're older. MikeCFT answered Sunday May 20 2007, 7:53 pm: You're way too young to be drinking at all.
Yes the purchase AND consumption of alcohol is illegal if you are under 21. You, whoever else is underage and drinking, the person who provided the alcohol and the person who owns wherever it is that are drinking is in trouble if you are caught and can be cited. It is a matter of police officer discretion to enforce or not in this situation, but if you are thirteen then the odds of him enforcing are higher. xomegaroni answered Sunday May 20 2007, 7:46 pm: Drinking alcohol under the age of 21 is definately illegal. If you were caught drunk or if it was in your possession, you would get into loads of trouble with the law. Also, if there is an adult who gave you the alcohol, they will also be in a lot of trouble with the law & would most likely go to jail with a large fine. Your punishment all depends. A lot of the cases are different, but all are punishments.
looneytune1561 answered Sunday May 20 2007, 7:37 pm: yes, it is illegal to drink under the age of 21. lets say you told a cop you got drunk a year ago or something nothing can happen. but if a cop catches you drunk or catches you drinking youll probably just have to sit in the cop car and theyll call your parents or youll have to go to jail overnight but thats it.
