I'm 16 and going to be a junior in high school, so I figured it was about time I started thinking about the career path I'd like to take.

In one of my classes freshman year, my teacher gave me a list of a few websites that list job descriptions, salaries, required schooling, job environment, etc. But I obviously no longer have that list of websites, so...

Does anybody know of any websites [preferably for teenagers] that give good job descriptions, schooling required, etc like I mentioned above? I've tried Google, but nothing really came up.

I'd really appreciate any help =]

I am an upcoming freshman at a community college in the United States. I also plan on transfering to a university after 2 years to major in Literature/English.

I am trying to get a list of everything I will need for college together so I can start preparing for the amount of money I will be spending, etc. I found the perfect tape recorder from Office Depot that was $100 (not bad for the features it has), and I would like to buy it to assist me with my note taking. Many educational wesbties suggest having one, but they also say that some professors don't allow them. I don't want to pass up the good deal on this recorder, but I also don't want to buy it if I will not be able to use it.

Should I get it or not?

Get it, and then ask your professors if they will let you use it.

Some might be totally against it, but some might be all for it.

You'll never know until you ask, but I definitely think it's worth buying.

18/F. I was working out last week and did a set of pushups after not doing them for over 2 years. I stretched out before and after and did a cool down/warm up. In the next couple days I noticed that the area on the sides, slight above, and slightly below my breasts were extremely sore. My boyfriend said that it's normal to be sore there after pushups because it's your chest that you're working out. But I am still sore after a week and a day.

Is there something wrong? Did I strain anything? What can I do to make it feel better?

It's perfectly normal, and it happens to me a lot.

What I would do is maybe ice the sore spots, and keep up on the workout. Don't over-work yourself, and maybe do a little less than you did a week ago.

And if you keep up your work-out, but taking off maybe two days a week, you should stop getting sore.

Well, the guy I like he dated me first, than he broke up with me for my friend. :/ when dating my friend,I warned him about her,before that. She's never 100% to her boyfriends and that she liked many guys before while dating someone (and she did while dating him she even asked someone else out while dating him!) I told him I was worried that he would get hurt, and he did..really bad. He told me he was sorry for not listening to me, and he put me in his top on Myspace. That made me happy, but I was sixth and my friend who broke his heart was first and a girl a grade younger than me was 2nd. He asked me to the movies,(I was so nervous..I don't think it was a date but he acted like it) and I went with him, he was SUCH a gentlemen!! He pulled down my drink holder for me, shared his candy with me and he wore cologne.. and he kept wiping his hands on his pants. So he was nervous to?? Why? Was he trying to impress me?? He told my friend (I asked her to ask him..haha) if it was a date he said "no". So?? I'm so confused!! The next day my friends and I 4 wayed him on the phone and he didn't talk that much and he said " There's to many people on here...and I have to go". Than he hanged up. So did I. A few minutes later he called ME, and he asked if I liked the movie , we talked it was cool..and I was happy because he only called me once before. :) So.. what's going on? I really like this guy..he's like my best friend..and he cares and he knows I'll always be here for him. I want to date him but, I want him to ask me out.. my friend asked him if he liked me and he said "as a friend", but for some reason he lies, when people ask him about me, because the first time I asked him out(my friends asked him) he said no.. so I gave up and I was going to talk about it to him why he always says yes than no..and he said he liked me and he's like I thought you were going to ask me out. I told him I was but you said no. So..I'm confused!! What should I do..should I wait or ask him out?? I really don't want to get hurt again.

If you find yourself having waited too long, then maybe just move on.

okay..so all summer i've been tanning..and i usually just like..take the strings off of my top peice..and just lay out..but it get's really old having to make sure that they're not giving me a weird tan line..so i was thinking that i could just wear my swimsuit..not take anything off.

Ok I was at a party and I was kind of fliritng with this girl. We were both sober. Later that night we sat next to each other on the couch and she let me put my arm around her. I use Yahoo for my e-mails. I made my e-mail address a while ago, so I didn't use my real name, instead using a nickname. However, I have to e-mail my teachers on a frequent basis, so I think it's immature that I have a nickname for my displayed name. How do I change this..?

If you don't know what I'm talking about, it's the name that appears that's supposed to be your real name.

When you log into Yahoo Mail, it will say:

"Hello [first name of stupid Nickname]!"

And right next to that, go to "Profile."

And then, under the first box, it says "Change Photo" and "Edit Profile."

Well, click on the second one, and then you can change your name.

It seems that "all right" is more formal, while "alright" is more informal.

I am so confused on what season of Secret Life of the American Teenager is coming out on June 22! Some people say it's Season 3, but others say it's Season 2! ABCFamily has videos of season 1 only though so it confuses me even more. So, what season of Secret Life of the American Teenager is coming out?

Plus it says that Season 2 DVD is coming out tomorrow, but would Season 2 DVD set actually come out before it's aired on tv??

I hate the show; I only watch to laugh at the terrible acting.

Buuut..

It's definitely Season 3 that's going to start airing on TV.

They would never release a DVD of a season that hasn't aired yet.

i looked at a college's high school course requirements, and it said 4 years history and 3 years social studies. if i took 3 history courses, sociology, and psychology, would that fulfill their requirements? (because i don't understand if history and social studies can be considered the same)

History generally is like:

20th Century American History
World History
19th Century American History
French History

Stuff like that.


Social Studies are:

Geography
Economics
Sociology
Psychology


I don't know that you've fulfilled the requirements. Ask your high school counselor or even a college counselor.

I was really close to my brother when we were growing up. My brother was only like a year and a half or so older than me. Two months ago my brother committed suicide and I'm the one that "found" him. I can't seem to move on from it at all though. I think I'm depressed sometimes but I don't really know. I lie awake at night and think about it constantly. It's like I'm in this haze where nothing is real anymore and I've noticed myself pulling away from others, spending more and more time alone. I replay our childhood in my head--the laughs, the games, the memories--and I realize it's gone. It's all gone.

I was close to my brother and it hurts that he didn't share his pain with me. It hurts that he couldn't rely on me to help him through the hard times he was obviously going through. Now I'm thinking about suicide myself. I've even went as far as to Google search painless ways to commit suicide and quickest ways to commit suicide. It's stupid, I know...but I feel so lost, so alone, and so empty now.

I guess I'm looking for some sort of guidance here. I don't really know what to do next...

Honestly, it's ALRIGHT to be upset about your brother. That's fine.

But you shouldn't let the bad things cause you to think that you need to follow in your brother's path.

Get a pet. Seriously, they are SO comforting. They make you feel so great. Plus, with having to care for it, you will start to get your mind off your brother.

The best pet to get is a cat. Cats will get right up next to you, lick your face, and sleep on your bed with you. And they'll love you NO MATTER WHAT.

Please think about what you're doing. Take a step back, and think how you're feeling right now. Pretty bad, right? Bad doesn't even describe it. Well, if you do what your brother did, how would your mother feel? How would your father feel? How would any of your family feel?

Get a pet, please. =]
