Sore for over a week 18/F. I was working out last week and did a set of pushups after not doing them for over 2 years. I stretched out before and after and did a cool down/warm up. In the next couple days I noticed that the area on the sides, slight above, and slightly below my breasts were extremely sore. My boyfriend said that it's normal to be sore there after pushups because it's your chest that you're working out. But I am still sore after a week and a day.
Is there something wrong? Did I strain anything? What can I do to make it feel better?

It's perfectly normal, and it happens to me a lot.
What I would do is maybe ice the sore spots, and keep up on the workout. Don't over-work yourself, and maybe do a little less than you did a week ago.
And if you keep up your work-out, but taking off maybe two days a week, you should stop getting sore.

Your boyfriend is right, it's probably soreness from doing push-ups. While 8 days is a little on the long side for soreness to persist, that's still the most likely cause. ]
