Hello everyone, how can you know if it is really love or not. There's this guy who I have a crush on for four years plus already and I still can't forget him. Whenever I see him last time and he goes near me, my mind can't think anything. It's like my mind is saying say something say something but I can't think of anything to say. Now, I'm worried about him and I don't know if this is really love. If it is, could it be possible that love exist at my age? I'm 16. And could it be possible that you love someone you don't know really that much? (link)

I think you're suffering from longing and lusting syndrome. You want him; you know you want him. You said so yourself. You've wanted him for over four years. I don't think it's love. Don't try and make yourself love someone you don't know. You'll get hurt. This is just a reallyy long crush. Yes, love is possible at such a young age. I'm younger than you, and I can say that I do love someone. (and I know it's not lust. Which is important.) However, it is not possible to love someone you don't know that much. If you're just seeing him on school days and you're not talking to him or getting to know him, it's not possible. I say this because... well, you don't know anything about him. Maybe he's hiding something, or isn't public about something. There are things that you have to know before you can really love someone. If you don't know about him, it's not possible to love him. Yeah, you can like him.. but not love. Not yet.
Try and talk to him. Plan something in your head to talk to him. Practice in front of the mirror - saying over and over - "Hey! How are you?" It's that simple. That's all you have to say to start with. Work off of that. Tell him 'hi' and 'bye', then maybe you can get his AIM Screen Name, maybe an E-mail address. You'll work off of that, too. When you're friends with him (You have to know him. Not know OF him), and the time is right, maybe you could tell him that you like him. Don't tell him right off the bat that you're crazy about him - that'll only scare him away! Be his friend. Maybe you'll find that you don't like him anymore. Maybe you'll like him even more.

hey i saw one of you answers and its clear that you might be one to ask this to. well somtimes i scare myself to sleep worring that there might be no god. i try to pray to him as much as i can to feel closer and stop getting like that. i figured i should show up at church somtimes, people say it helps...

Thank you for asking me this question. You're right, there was a time once that I doubted God. I was, like you, worried that my faith was in vain. What if there was no God? What would happen to me when I died? Was there a Heaven? What about a Hell? If there's no God, are there angels? .... I'm going to answer those questions - and hopefully help you out of this.
1. Is there a God? - I believe there is. He talks to me (not in an audiable voice, but through the Holy Spirit... the tiny voice inside your head). I believe, if it were not for God, that I'd be dead. (NOT KIDDING - I mean literally in the grave) And, if I wasn't dead, I'd have considerable facial scarring and possibly brain damage. I'm serious, I'm that dumb. I did some crazy stuff. I'm grateful to be alive. In the summer of 2004, I almost fell off a horse. No biggie, right? I've fallen off of horses many, many times. This time was different. I was galloping (a little slower than racehorses go) and my horse ran into the fence. I had been jumping without stirrups, and when my horse ran into the fence, it was devine intervention that kept me from falling off. I know it doesn't sound like a bad fall... but it was solid rock that I would have landed on - head first. I probably should have been thrown twelve feet and hit my head. But I never left the back of that mare. I only pulled some ligaments/nerves/muscle in my knee. I'm fortunate that my knee has recovered the way it has. I was *almost* hit by lightning once. I actually should have been hit. I was touching a metal water faucet and lightning hit the sink. A metal sink at that! All I felt was a little tingle in my hand. That is my proof that God exists. The Bible says "In the beginning God..." (Genesis 1:1), '"I am the Alpha and the Omega," says the Lord God, "Who is, and who was, and who is to come, the Almighty."' (Revelation 1:8), "There is no one holy like the Lord; there is no one besides you; there is no Rock like our God." (I Samuel 2:2). Of course, there are more verses, but I'm going to move on now.
2. What happens to me when I die? I believe with all my heart and soul that when you die, if you're an honest to God Christian, you'll go live in Heaven. First, it would be your soul, not your body. But, after the Rapture, you'd get your new body. (This may be a bit confusing. If you'd like, I'll elaborate more later) But, if you're not a Christian, you're a cultist, a satanist, or an atheist, you'll go to Hell. Now, I'm going to Heaven. I hope that you are, too. Heaven will be soo much better than Hell. In Hell, worms will eat your skin off of your body, you will be tormented forever. Time will have no place or bearing. Your suffering will never end. You will beg for but one drop of water, yet you shall not recieve it. There will be a chasm between Heaven and Hell, and no one can cross over to the other side. I believe that God created Heaven and Hell, that if we accept His free gift of eternal life with Him, we shall go to live in Heaven for eternity. "...God Most High, Creator of Heaven and Earth." (Genesis 14:19), "But I tell you that anyone who is angry with his brother will be subject to judgement. Again, anyone who says to his brother, 'Raca', is answerable to the Sanhedrin. But anywone who says, 'You fool!' will be in danger of the fire of Hell." (Matthew 5:22), "There was a rich man who was dressed in purple and fine linen and lived in luxury every day. At his gate laid a beggar named Lazarus, covered with sores and longing to eat what fell from the rich man's table. Even the dogs came and licked his sores. The time came when the baggar died and the angels carried him to Abraham's side. The rich man also died and was buried. In hell, where he was in torment, he looked up and saw Abraham far away, with Lazarus by his side. So he called to him, Father Abraham, have pity on me and send Lazarus to dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue, because I am in agony in this fire. But Abraham replied, 'Son, remember that in your lifetime you recieved your good things, while Lazarus received bad things, but now he is comforted here and you are in agony. And besides all this, between us and you a great chasm has been fixed, so that those who want to go from here to you cannot, nor can anyone cross over from there to us.'" (Luke 16:19-26)
3. What about evoloution? I believe in the Creation. Not evoloution. I have a question for all those who are evoloutionists. 'How come the things we 'evolved' from could do things we can't? And if we evolved from monkeys, why are there still monkeys here? And if monkeys came from something else.. why is that still here?'. Evoloution just doesn't make sense. "In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters. And God said, "Let there be light," and there was light. God saw that the ligt was good, and he separated the light from the darkness. God called the light "day," and the darkness he called "night." And there was evening, and there was morning - the first day. And God said, "Let there be an expanse between the waters to seperate water from water." So God made the expanse and separated the water under the expanse from the water above it. And it was so. God called teh expanse "Sky." And there was evening, and there was morning - the second day. And God said, "Let the water under the sky be gathered to one place, and let dry ground appear." And it was so. God called the dry ground "land," and the gathered waters he called, "seas." And God saw that it was good. The God said, "Let the land produce vegetation: seed-bearing plants and trees on the land that bear fruit with seed in it, according to their various kinds." And it was so. The land produced vegeation: plants bearing seed according to their kinds and trees bearing fruit with seed in it according to their kinds. And God saw that it was good. And there was evening, and there was morning - the third day." (Genesis 1:1-13) I'll stop with the third day. If you'd like to read the rest of it, it is Genesis 1:1-31.
In order for you to become close to God, you must be sincere, trustful, clean, and believe!
"That if you confess with your mouth, 'Jesus is Lord,' and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved." You have to be saved to become close to God. Perhaps you are saved and you're just doubting, like I was. I hope so. In order to be clean, you must ask for forgiveness of all things that you have done wrong. This doesn't just mean ask God for forgiveness, but other people, too! If you told a lie, you must tell the person you lied to that you're sorry and ask for forgiveness. It is not until you're clean that you can know the heart of God. It is not enough to say, "I'm sorry." and still live a bad life! You must honestly mean that you're sorry and try to fix your life. (With the help of God, of course)
Church. Wow. Ok. I go to church... four times a week. (I'm not Catholic, that's just how it worked out. I go to a Bible study at a church on Wednesday mornings, I go to Wednesday night worship, Sunday morning worship - big church? lol and Sunday nights, too.) But, you don't have to go to church to be close to God. The people at my church... they go to church three times a week yet they are far from God. Yes, if you put yourself in a good, upstandning church, it will be easier to be close to God. Be cautious though. Do not fall into the trap of a cult. (I'll give you a list of cults, if you ask.)
I am a writer. (that's not my occupation - lol - but that is how I am) I do things by writing them. You see, if you had asked me this question on the phone or something, I'd look like a fool. I wouldn't know what to say. But, because it's writing, I can answer (hopefully) half-way decently. I have a prayer journal. Every night (sometimes more than once) I sit down for at least an hour (more like three hours lately) and type my heart to God. I express myself that way. Sometimes I use Sign Language to convey how I'm feeling, but I can't save a song that I've signed. I can save a prayer that I've typed. I talk to God about everything. Guys, love, sex, puberty, growing up, horses, hangin' out... you name it, I've talked to God about it. And I'm not ashamed to say that I do talk to Him about that kind of thing. He wants us to trust Him that much. I also read my Bible daily. Most of the time I'll sit down, and just read for an hour or so straight. If there's something I don't understand, I pray about it. If I'm still not sure, I ask my adopted Grandma. If I'm still not sure, I go to my pastor!

Okay...I have alot of friends. But, there is this boy that i have been friends with since like forever. But whenever he has a gf we dont talk at all. it's like we dont even know each other. Well, I think you mean, "his gf will think i'm stAlking him". If you didn't mean that... I don't know what you meant.
The reason that y'all don't talk is because he is infatuated with his current girlfriend, and she's infatuated with him. If you do try and talk to him, even if he knows that you don't like him, his girlfriend doesn't uderstand that. And, if you think about it, talking to another girl on the phone is kinda.. backstabbing. (in a sense) It's also alot of trouble to try and convince his girlfriend that you don't like him, you just want to be his friend and talk to him. But, I have some advice for your guy friend.
If he's letting his girlfriends rule his life that way, so much that he can't even talk to his friends... he needs to get his priorities straight.
Talk to your guy friend, be sincere. Tell him that you don't like him "that way" and you aren't his "stalker", but you are his friend, Just tell him that you miss talking to him, and all you want is friendship. Then, ask him to explain that to his girlfriend.
That's all you really can do. If he doesn't listen... then I'd say give him a taste of his own medicine. If you have a boyfriend, and he doesn't, and he wants to talk, keep the conversations short, don't start anything... and after a little while, ask him how he felt when you were treating him that way. If he says he didn't like it, tell him that's how you felt. That'll give him a wake-up call. But, be nice about it!!!
Pray for him. Pray for him not to give into worldly temptations or to lower his standards.

What do you do if you find yourself more and more each day, liking a guy who does not believe in God? I am a christian and I have my morals, standards and beliefs and he doesn't meet my number one standard which is believeing in God and having a relationship with him but, on the other hand, I am so drawn to him I can't help it.He's a really great guy but should we just stay friends and nothing more? Powerful verses. Don't fool yourself by saying that you'll witness to him and he'll get saved 'cause you are dating him. He'll respect you more if you're just friends with him. Don't lead him on or anything. That would be a sin.
I know you're drawn to him, but I'm sure there's an awesome Christian guy out there for you... I found one...
Tell yourself how much you'd be sinning if you did that. (no sin is unpardonable, but you know... it's not okay to do it just because God will forgive you!) Stay friends with him, but don't go out with him. Even if he asks you out. You have a reason. Stick with it, please!
Pray for him every night, for his Salvation. Maybe invite him to church, witness to him.
Keep your high morals and standards. It is SO easy to lose all you've worked for because you're going out with a nonChristian. It is easier to be pulled down than to pull someone up. That means that it'd be easier for that guy to convince you to sleep with him than it would be for you to get him in church and saved.
I know it's not a pretty message... but it's one that has to be told.

ok, i have a really good friend of another race that i had no doubt at all was gay. he was always checking out other guys and stuff so of course..duh, i thot he way gay. so we were really good friends and then all of a sudden he told me the DAY BEFORE april fools that he had had a really bad crush on me since the beguinning of last year. k, it TOTALLY threw me by suprise b/c i thot he was GAY!! so ne ways i though he was joking cos the next day was april fools but he wasn't kidding at all!!! so he kept stalking me and wouldn't leave me alone. he would always be like "have you though about it yet, you're taking FOREVER!!" but my mom just got home from the hospital from a really stressful and long-recovery surgery and she JUST now started walking. so i've been distracted obviously with my mom. so ne ways i was doing this filming project for school and he was stalking me the entire time. we were filming and he'd just be standing there looking around doing nothing, watching what we were doing when we all asked him to leave like 30 minutes ago, but he wouldn't leave. so finally we finished the project and i needed to change out of this crazy costume i was in so i told him "hey, i need to change into my regular clothes." an he just tood there starring at me, then he goes "well then?" like i was ACCTUALLY going to do it in front of him! so i told him he needed to go outside and he was all pissy about it. so then while i was changing i saw him STARRING AT ME THROUGH THE WINDOW WHILE I WAS CHANGING MY TOP!! oh my gosh it was so horrible! i felt so violated! and he's still been stalking me and saying "hey, how's your day?" to me in the hallway like we're going out even though it should be pretty clear to him that we're NOT!! so how do i tell this guy to get lost and leave me alone? i don't want to hurt his feelings, but then again he was starring at me while i was changing so i kind of do. ne suggestions? what should i say? i rate high (link)

Wow. That's disgusting. (that he would stare at you while you were changing.) You WERE violated. If I were you, I'd tell my mom. Err... maybe not. (BTW, sorry about your mom..) Maybe you should tell the school counselor. They're cool. Write him a letter telling him that you're sick of him stalking you and that you like him AS A FRIEND, but nothing more. Also, make it clear that if he doesn't get his act together you're going to turn him in. (And don't you DARE hesitate to do so!)
If he needs an excuse, I think your mom is a really, really good excuse. Not even an excuse - a real REASON.
Just tell him that you don't like him. I know it's hard, but that's what you've got to do. Avoid him at all costs, if you'd like. (I would!) Don't be afraid to hurt his feelings. (he's man enough, he'll get over it.) Start of softly, talk to him in person, tell him (gently) that you don't want to be his girlfriend right now, but you just want to be friends. If this doesn't work, write him a .. slightly harsher E-mail or letter. If this doesn't work, write him a serious E-mail/letter telling him that you're sick of it and threaten to turn him in. If it continues, turn him in and seek help!
If it stil hurts you that you were violated in such a way that he saw you while you were changing your top, please, do not hesitate to seek profesional counseling. It's not an easy thing to get over, and you shouldn't be ashamed of doing so. I know alot of "normal" girls who go to counseling just because they need someone to talk to. In your case, you've been... "tresspassed" and might need to talk to someone.
I... I can't say how sorry I am that things like this happen. To anyone. And you sound like a really nice girl... it's a shame.
Talk to God, above all. His comfort is like a comfort that cannot be described. There are times that I was sure I was going to die (I'm NOT kidding) and, yet, here I am. Do not try to tell me that this is just coincedence or something... because, really, I should be dead. And if not dead, maybe with horrific scarring and maybe brain damage. (uh.. I do some stupid things sometimes. lol)
If you think your mom is up to it, talk to her about this. Moms can be cool. Pray for your mom, too. That's great that she can walk again. (not cool that she needed surgery and stuff.. but definitely cool that she's getting better.

She could be having an allergic reaction to her food. Maybe she has a virus or something. The only way to know is for you to take her to a vet. I'm not a "cat expert", but I have two cats. The only cases of them throwing up was when once my cat accidentally ate some rat poison, and she threw up alot. (we had to take her to the vet) and once my cat had a stomach virus and needed medicine (vet..)
Take her to the vet. You'll be glad you did. She'll lose too much weight too fast. Not good. Vet is good.

My mom is the same way. Or, used to be. She still complains about me being so weird or something, but basically, I just kinda.. said no. I mean, respectfully. I told her that I didn't want to be like everyone else, because the Bible says "do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world.." and I didn't want to sin. I don't wear make up unless I have a zit (ha ha lol) or a scratch (which is often). Most of my clothes are dark colors or neutral colors. I like electrical tape, weird things, dark colors... etc. I like rubber bands. Not the cheesey silicon colored ones that say "livestrong" or something, but good old packaging rubber bands. (the big ones make nice necklaces - and look really weird!)
Talk to your mom, as an adult (you ARE fifteen) and tell her that you'd rather not be like everyone else. I can't say that it will work.. but you don't have to say yes when you get asked out, you know. Sorry if this wasn't any help.

Some other side effects are
-throwing up
-dizziness
-headache
-fever
-nausea
-diarrhea
-gaining weight
-eating more (being more hungry and just wanting food)
-sore breasts
those are some basics. If you think you're pregnant, take a pregnancy test, and if it's positive, go to the doctor. Or, if the test is negative, but you continually have those symptoms, go to the doctor. Pregnancy tests aren't always right.
Typically, after a girl has sex, her period becomes irregular. So, you might not be pregnant. But, if you didn't use protection, there's a good chance.

Wow. Thirteen whole miles?! Come on. I live over twenty miles from ANYONE that I know. Thirteen miles isn't bad.
I'm also homeschooled, so I don't see any of my friends every day anyway.
Stay with your boyfriend. "i trust him and love him with all my heart and life..." well, if you did trust him and love him, you'd stay with him. If you're afraid that you're going to stop talking and seeing each other, you need to look at your love. It's not like you'll never see or talk to him again. Obviously you have the Internet, so you could talk to him online. You more than likely have a phone if you have Internet, so you could talk on the phone. You have hands, so you could write him a letter. One of you (or your parents) must have a car, so you could get together and hang out. Go to a movie or something.
Try "real hard" to stay in touch with him. Actually, you should try "really hard" to stay in touch with him. You'll regret it if you break up with him if you truly love him. Tell him that you love and trust him, that you don't want to lose him, and even though you'll be going to different schools, you want to stay with him. Write him E-mails, use AIM or YIM or MSN, write him letters and send them in the mail. Invite him to hang out and watch movies or something.
Stay with him!

If they didn't hire a guy JUST because he's a guy, that would be sexist, and discrimination. You would be able to press charges. However, if there is something else about you that they don't 'like' (maybe grades, attitude, criminal record? lol) then they wouldn't hire you. But guys can work there. I imagine that the discounts for an employee are nice...

Well me and my 2 other friends are going to the movies and then shopping for an hour. I dont get any pocket money so I asked my mom to give me some money so I can buy things when were shopping. And she says "No, because were running out of money" But she always says I cant buy things because were running out of money, and seriously I need proof that were running out of money. All my friends are bringing at least $50 and im going to be left out...Please help... (link)

Well, there isn't a way to 'prove' that you're running out of money besides when you just can't buy things like that. Believe me, I know how you feel. Well, sortof. I'm not a shopper, but it kinda smurfs when all of your friends are going to a movie, but because of gas prices and a movie ticket, it's too expensive to go. My family is a middle class family that is fairly comfortable. Currently, though, we've been having a few more expenses. (We had a new horse born, bought a new horse, plus we have to feed and water horses, gas is wayy too expensive, there aren't many places who need my father's services.. yeah) So, I know how you feel. I also know how your mom feels. I hate it when I have to tell my sisters that we can't go to a movie because it is too expensive, or we can't go play put-put-golf etc.
Do you shop at Hollister, Abercrombie, Aeropostal etc.? There's nothing wrong with these stores (well, Abercrombie basically advertises with porn, but hey..), but they're expensive. I know a girl who bought a 50$ pair of jeans that were on the clearance rack! My most expensive pair of pants were $15.. and that was alot. Maybe you could consider shopping at a place that has quality clothes for less? TJ Max, Goodys, Pennys, Target, even thrift stores have quality clothes for cheaper prices. Maybe it's embarrasing to shop at a Thrift store, but look at it this way: If you shop at a Thrift store where you can get a pair of Abercrombie jeans for $12, still look cute, and hopefully help your mom and dad out money wise... why not? I see Abercrombie, Hollister, JC Pennys, Aeropostal etc. clothes at the thrift store with tags still on! For less than $15, too.
If you want some pocket money, maybe you could 'work'? Not seriously get a job (unless you're old enough, then you could do that and have money of your own), but you could do odd jobs around the house, mow the lawn, pressure wash the driveway etc. for a little bit of money. You could do the same with neighbors, too. Offer to walk dogs at $5 an hour, every day that they need you to. There are other things besides walking dogs.. you could mow grass, paint fences, babysit and more. It would require work, but work is never bad.
As for being left out... I can't help you there. If your mom wont give you money, and you can't earn any quickly enough, then just don't buy anything. It's still fun to look around and try things on, even if you're not going to buy them, right? (Idk, I don't like shopping at all, so I'm guessing here.) If you don't want to go shopping without money, just go for the movie then go back home. If anyone asks why, tell them you have homework or something.

I suggest that you follow your heart. In my culture, as I was raised in a Christian home, and I am a born again Christian, it is not acceptable for a man and a woman to live together unless they're married.
I do not know the Ethiopian culture well at all; but I do know that here in America, almost NOTHING is inacceptable. If you were in America, no one would think twice about such an age gap, but, I understand that Ethiopia is a very different place.
Sometimes, what is accepted isn't what is right.
The one I love isn't ... my age. No the age gap isn't thirteen years, but yes, he's older than I.
Even though you are a grown man, maybe having your parent's consent would be best? And the girl's parents as well. Parental consent and blessings are always a bonus.
I understand how such a large age gap would cause culture issues, but, as I said before, follow your heart. Talk to this girl, and, listen to her heart, too.

*cough* ok, ignore that. I'm kidding.
Ok, you are so sweet! (not kidding here) and, if your best friend doesn't know, tell her. Just go up to her and say something like, "Hey, I just wanted you to know something... you know, I think you're really, really cool.. and I like you as more than a friend..." and then wait for her response. Relationships are built off of friendships. The best thing you could do is tell her. To get her attention, put yourself out there a little bit! Compliment her on her shirt, tell her she looks beautiful. (NOT hot! That is an insult! Never tell a girl she looks hot. Always go for 'beautiful' or 'pretty'.) Hold doors open for her, give her a hug. Offer to carry her books, smile at her for no reason. When you're walking beside her, causually sling your arm around her shoulders, or when standing by her, put your hand on her shoulder. When she gets a good grade or does something well, comment on it. For instance, if she gets a correct answer in History, pat her back or shoulder and say "Way to go!" or something. That is the easiest way to let a girl know you kinda like her - touch, compliments, and telling her. Remember, girls make no assumptions. If you want her to know, tell her. It can be in an E-mail, IM, phone conversation, face-to-face, or, if you're gonna be awesome, write her a "love note" telling her and send her a peice of candy, or a flower. Girls like that sort of thing, you know. Trust me, she'll never know if you don't tell her! I have lived this one out myself. Several times, in fact...
If you're a writer, write her a poem. (Girls like this kind of stuff, remember?) If you're not a writer, but still want to give her a poem, find a great poem online or something, type it on a 'pretty' card in a 'pretty' font and give it to her. She'll guess, but never know. If she's confident enough, she might ask if you like her, or get a friend to ask her.
If you want, get a friend to ask her if she likes you, or you could ask one of her friends.
Girls tend to notice the subtle changes in behavior and attitude... if you become more open, if you touch her shoulder, play with her hair, compliment her etc, she'll notice.

"Punks" can be "pretty"! I guess, that if I had to be labled, I might be "punk". I am not, however, worried about not looking 'pretty'.
How do you prep your clothes up without buying new ones? Simple. Paint your nails pink (or purple or something of that sort) wear flowers, in your hair, on your clothes etc. Wear alot of pink, purple, bright green, bright blue, and bright colors in general. (not just shirts and such, but bracelets, necklaces, earrings, etc.) If you have a few extra bucks, go buy yourself some 'pretty' hair doodads. ('fluffy' scrunchies, butterfly clips, etc.) If your mom will let you, get some hot pink (or bright green) wash-out hair dye (in a spray can.. it's about a buck fifty at Wal Mart) and streak your hair. Do wacky (but not scary) things with your hair. Such as pulling your hair up, using a feathered pony tail holder, but braiding a few strands here and there. I suppose the best way to do the "preppy" thing is to ask someone who is a prep - not me! But my cousins are "preps" so I kinda know. They wear shorts that are like underwear, and don't wear underwear. (As gross as that is, I'm not kidding) BUT, I don't suggest that you go 'commando' lol. Um.. bright colors are in for preps, so that's what you should wear. Oh, lots and lots of make up. (not kidding) Bright colored eye shadow and a lot of eyeliner/mascara. Lip gloss... etc.
