Today in English we were reading some story about something to do with someone having a disability wanting to play golf. He had trouble walking and had to use a cart to get around to the hole while everyone else had to walk (obviously I wasn't paying much attention). But, towards the end of class my teacher brought up a good point about what the word "fair" meant to us.
Her question was, "Is being fair treating everyone equally, or giving lea-way to those with disabilities so they can be like everyone else.
I was wondering what it meant to you guys.
(link)
|
Hmm.. I think being "fair" has to do with what kind of people are playing. If you're playing with people who are mentally unstable or disabled, the rules should change a bit to make it 'fair'. They don't understand the rules, but they want to play. So, you make it easier for them, but if you've got a 'normal' person, they should play by the 'normal' rules. Same for someone with a physical handicap. If I only had one leg, but I wanted to show my horse, I could buy a special saddle that allows my 'non-existant leg' to be replaced by something that would hold me in place. I read a story about a girl who had no legs - not even 'stumps'. She rode horses in a special saddle that kindof strapped her in, but would still allow her to fall off. I think that would be fair. If I'm 'normal' and you don't have legs, of course you can ride in a saddle that helps you balance while I ride in a 'normal' saddle.
Treating everyone the exact same only works if everyone's mind and body works the same way.

I don't know why it wont allow you to sign on... maybe AIM has blocked you. Someone may have attempted to log on as you, but didn't get the password right. If this happened too many times, AIM gave you a default password. Click on "forgot password" and get AIM to E-mail you the password. If this still doesn't work.. try re-downloading AIM (or upgrading if you're not using the most current AIM). If this still doesn't work, create a new AIM Screen Name, and continue with your... life.
I know this is supposed to be about AIM, but maybe you should try an outdoor activity? Bike riding, horseback riding, dog walking, soccer, baseball, cheerleading, hopscotch... tons of fun things to do. Don't get me wrong, I'm not an AIM hater. I enjoy AIM sometimes, and I get on at least five times a week... but it's not my life. We have this thing called the telephone. It's a really nice thing, and you don't have to type. My arm gets really tired really easily sometimes, so I like talking on the phone. But, sometimes AIM is better. You don't show emotions as well on AIM. :D
Wow, how pointless was that paragraph?

I asked my best guy friend to the dance. He said he doesn't know and it is because we are friends. But all i want to do i go to the dance and just be friends. So then he tells i am going to ask some one else! And it is one of my best friends! I ma really deppressed! Because i really like him! I need help!
Lonley and Hatin it!
I am 13 and he is 13 (link)

Lonely,
Have you explained to your friend that you just want companionship from this 'date'? That you don't want to 'go out' or whatever, you just want someone to go to the dance with? If you explain that to him, he'll probably understand. Explain to him that you are too shy to ask another boy, and you just want it to be a fun night. He'll probably be more specific if you tell him that you aren't 'into him' you just want to hang out.
Maybe he likes you? Sometimes when a guy likes a girl, he is more hesitant to do things with her - such as go to a dance - because she might see that he likes her. (did that make any sense?) Maybe I'm wrong, but sometimes... sometimes it is that way.
Tell him that you're probably not going to go if you don't have someone to go with, and you are too shy to ask anyone else. He'll probably see that you want to go with him - but only as friends. Sometimes guys will think that it means something to go to a dance together as friends. (girls to it too - not just guys) Be very specific when saying that you don't want to go out with him, but just to think of it as a huge night of hanging out in nice clothes.

I have been wondering if the person you like or you keep thinking who'll end up with you in marriage would usually be the person you'll really get married to. Because in my situation, I've always thought that he'll be the one and don't get it wrong, I have deep feelings for him. But there's this another guy who last time cares for me but now i think not anymore. i just think. But I'm afraid maybe the person i think would be the one for me, wouldn't really be? I know it sounds complicated but it's really giving me a problem. Pls. help me. (link)
|
Ah, understood. I wonder the same thing sometimes, "Do I know the man that I'm going to marry?" I'm probably younger than you, but that doesn't really matter. I have an aunt who met her husband in the seventh grade, and they dated all through junior and senior high school before they got married. My grandparents met in tenth grade, my mom's best friend met her husband in eighth grade, and there's a woman who goes to a Bible study with me who met her husband in third grade!
I don't suppose there is really a way of knowing without going into the future. (that is impossible, so there's not a way of knowing without waiting.) Talk to the man (boy/guy/teenager whatever you call him) that you have deep feelings for, and ask him how he feels about this topic. It depends on your age, but if you're at an age where you can get married, he might have seriously considered it. Maybe you're still too young, but he might've still seriously considered it even now.
Don't worry about all this stuff too much, because God will provide. Keep loving him, let him know you love him... and maybe he IS the right man for you. Pray about this. God wants to hear all of this from you. Maybe God will give you insight to all of this; something that I can't really do.
I understand how it's giving you a problem, because I have thought about this, too. It's kindof worrysome because you don't want to give your heart to the wrong man, but you don't want to keep it from the right one. Try not to worry. If you are doubting and worrying, talk to God. He'll soothe your nerves and calm your fears.

Is it better to wash your hair in cold water or in hot water? Is it less damaging? (link)
|
Hot water is damaging to your hair. It can cause split ends and encourages dull, frizzy hair. Washing your hair in cold water helps your hair to be shiny and more controllable, but cold water is... well, cold! But it's better than having damaged hair.

No problems for anyone. I know when Yom Kippur and Hannukah are, and I know when Christmas and Easter are. For Hannukah, my Mom, my brother, and I light the candles, while my dad watches T.V. Sometimes we let them burn all the way out, sometimes we don't. We do not give/recieve presents on the days. For Christmas, we get up around the tree (yes we have one), and give presents. Sometimes, I'd say once a month and a half, my dad makes us all attend church. My mom likes to go, because she enjoys the spirituality and singing. Only my dad goes up and accepts communion. I've never attened synagogue, though I have been to Passover gatherings with family.
The Pope? Well, the Pope's the Pope. I thought the last Pope was a good Pope for acknowledging Jews being killed by Christians, and forgiving those that killed. He was a good Pope because he traveled and stayed in on human affairs. I personally liked how active he was :).
I myself am agnostic. I haven't picked, let alone know if their is a God.
I do have an email address, and you can reach me at matt3605@yahoo.com anytime. Do you have an email address? (link)
|
I liked how active the old Pope was, rest in peace. I believe, though, that every man and woman will be held accountable for how he or she has treated God's chosen people - the Jews.
Do you believe in Evoloution*? (forgive any spelling errors, I'm too lazy to look them up.) I believe in the six-day Creation. Sure, there are funny little cartoons that make it seven days or something, i.e. - God made horses on the fifth day, and painted the good ones on the sixth. (that's a cute slogan for Paint Horse lovers) But, I still believe in the six-day Creation. How could people - complex, wonderful, quirky as we are - come from some soup? You break it down, and everything came from that single-cell 'soup'.
Some things leave me no doubt as to if there is a God or not. When I hurt my knee in the summer of 2004, I know it was God that kept me from dieing. I should've fallen on my head - on solid rock - after flying about ten or twelve feet! (thank goodness for helmets!) But I did not even fall off that horse. Pretty wild, eh? I have a cousin who is lucky to be alive - and it's only because of His Saving Grace. My cousin, who is now 40-something, was playing on a rope over a lake when he was fourteen or so. The rope snapped and my cousin fell into the lake - and landed on his head. He is paralyzed from his armpits down, and can only move his hands and face a little bit, but he is grateful to be alive. There must be a God. How else would humans be so quirky? I mean, animals are so similar. All of my five horses love to have ear massages - and I have never met a horse that didn't like his ears massaged (and I've met ALOT of horses)But, I know alot of people who don't like massages at all. Some people like rootbeer, some people like Mountain Dew. Some people prefer dark colors, while others look like a rainbow every time they step out of the house. No two people have the EXACT same birthmark in the EXACT same place. People are just too complex to have evolved.
:)

Not exactly Jewish, I do have Jewish heritage. My Mom is Jewish, and my dad is Catholic.
Judaism is not a race, it's a religion. Hitler mistook it for a race though. Germany is the same as America is the same as Britain. Simply places ruled over by a government. There were Jews living in Germany, plenty. Not an amazing amount, but there aren't an amazing amount anywere. Jews in Germany were citizens, many of them, making them German Jews. Same way they can be Austrian Jews.
I'm a thirteen year old male. fourteen in May. (link)
|
Ah, very good. You've done your homework, eh? Jewish heritage - there is a long process to become a Jew if you don't have the blood. I don't have the blood, and it would be extremely hard for me to convert because of this. So, your question here is... what? I'm not sure. But, you're right. (though I never said Judaism was a race..)
Now, I have a question for you. Does the split religions cause problems? Whose side are you on? What's your take on the Pope? Do you have an advice column or an E-mail address? It's kinda easier to talk if I know who I'm talking to.
Ah, the battle of the sexes, now is it?

Just as easily, I can throw every miracle in the Torah at you. Why is it that The Bible is so much more acurate than The Torah? Both contain "miracles", and things that aren't possible.
So that history would not repeat itself? Why choose the Jews? Why not have it not happen at all, rather than destroy nearly an entire religion in Europe. (link)
|
Ah, you're Jewish! Well, my friend, I am not as familiar with the Torah as you are, but I'm much more familiar with the Bible. I am a Protestant - the religion that the pilgrims brought from England.
Those things are possible - with Christ anything is possible. I never said the Bible is much more accurate than the Torah is, but, I believe that the Bible is the whole Word. The Torah isn't the whole Bible. You don't have a New Testament, where as I do. Can you explain those miracles in a way other than through God? I can't find someone who is deaf and just say, "My child, because of your faith, you are now made whole. Go therefore and hear! Your sins are forgiven." - because if I could, I would. I know a woman at my church who I do Sign Language for because she is deaf. I would give her my hearing if I could. She has children, but she has never heard their voices. How terribly sad is that? I can't restore her hearing. God could choose to give her hearing; but He wants us to learn from things like that. If it wasn't for Mrs. Debra, I wouldn't know of such deep measures of perserveance, love, hope, and I wouldn't be as fluent in my Second Language. I wouldn't have such a literal knowledge of the Scriptures, and I wouldn't have such a friend.
It is not just the Jews that have been persecuted. Yes, they have been 'picked on' more than other religions, but that is because they are the apple of God's eye. I would be a Messianic Jew if I could.. but it is not in my heratige. I am a Gentile. Thankfully, God has not limited salvation to Jews alone; but to all people.
You see, the reason the Protestants came to America was because they were being persecuted by the Roman Catholics. No one wanted them, so they came to America. Once in America, the Protestants were singled out by Roman Catholics, condemned as witches, and were hung. It is not only Jews that were persectued. Why did Hitler pick the Jews to persecute? I don't know. I wish I knew. I guess because God was trying to teach us that He'll be there always, we should depend on Him for all things, no matter how tough things get. Perhaps He wanted to show us that His patience has an end. I believe, though, that Hitlar was jealous. He knew that Germans were not Jews, and thus they were not God's chosen people. But Hitlar minipulated minds and convinced people that Germany was doing the right thing getting rid of these people, and that Germans were the apple of God's eye.
I don't have the answers to every question. Some things have to be taken up with God. I have hundreds of questions to ask God. "Why couldn't I meet my grandfather?" "Why do we have such awful men who will molest innocent girls?" "Why did my father hit me?" "Why can't I see ultraviolet rays?" and more.
Now, I have a question for you. If you still have questions, will you please tell me if you're male or female and how old you are. If you're embarassed to say how old exactly, something as vague as 'mid-twenties' is good enough for me. I'd just like to know what age I'm workin` with.

I understand what you are feeling as an older sibling who has a smaller sibling misbehaving and being wild. I was hangin` out with a friend the other day, and his brother and my sisters were supposed to be playing a board game. Instead of doing this, my sister's were chasing my friend's little brother around, jumping on his back, screaming, yelling, and running around; the worst part is - we were in a church! My sisters would not listen to me, and they hurt my friends brother physically. He went home bruised. I was so embarassed, sad, and furious.
What you said was hurtful, but you were mad. Sometimes though, you have to say, "Mom, let me think about that, and I'll tell you in a few moments." Since your mouth got in trouble, use your mouth to fix it, too. Tell your mom that you were very upset with your little brother for acting the way he did, that he embarrased you, and that you were upset with him. Tell her you're sorry that you said that, and you didn't mean it. But, ask her to keep the younger brother in check. To let a small child (or a pre-teen even) run wild and do as he pleases will teach him that he can do whatever he wants whenever he wants.
Think about how your mom feels. Think about how you'd feel if she said that she didn't want you around for her birthday. You'd probably be really upset. Apologies are great for this, and ask for forgiveness. Talk to your little brother, too. Ask him - kindly! - to behave better. Tell him that you love him very much, but you want him to be on his best behavior because he is going to embarass himself and his whole family. Maybe you could talk to your dad about your little brother's behavior; sometimes dads can talk some sense into little kids.
Your mom will feel so much better if you apologize to her, and tell her that you didn't mean it. Give her a small gift (maybe breakfast in bed? Or a card! Cards are good!) to let her knwo you care. Be extra-nice and patient to all your siblings, but especially the one who misbehaved.

It was actually your second revision that I meant. I'll reword. Why should Jews believe that Jesus was the Messiah when his name and very existence has killed millions of jews for milleniums? (link)
|
Ah, ok. That clears things up a bit, doesn't it?
Well, it was not Jesus' fault that those Jews were killed. Do you think it was His fault? If you do think it was, please say so because I am at a loss to understand how it could be His fault. It is Satan's fault. It was he that spred the rumor about Jesus' body being stolen... Satan is the epitome of evil. So, now we know who caused it, but you're probably asking why Jesus allowed it to happen. I mean, if He is who He says He is, wouldn't He be able to stop the murder of all those innocent Jews? The answer is yes, He could've stopped those murders. But He chose not to. This isn't because He's cruel or uncaring - it is because He cares. So history will not repeat itself. I do not know exactly why He allowed (and allows) innocent people to die at the hands of non-believers. I will ask Him as soon as I get a chance. But, my hunch is that He is getting fed up with all our sin. Admit it, we're not a wonderful nation, and our ways are not pleasing to Him. The Holy city, of God's chosen people, they are no better than America is. (or, if you're not American, whatever your home country is. None is better than the other. We're all sinful) I do not understand fully the ways of God, and I never shall. The ways of the Lord are mysterious and wonderful. That's all I can say.
But, tell me this: How can you explain the things Jesus did? His miracles? How did He raise Lazarus, the Centurian's daughter, and other children from the dead? It is not that they weren't dead. Lazarus had been in the grave four days before Jesus called him out of the tomb. The Bible states that Lazarus reeked of rotting flesh - a sure sign that he had been dead and decomposing. As if that's not enough, how did Jesus give sight to men who had been blind since birth? How did He make men who'd been crippled from birth walk again? How did He make deaf men hear? Or restore mutilated/disformed limbs? It is not an optical illusion. How could you 'fake' being blind for seventy years, then all of a sudden, this thirty year-old man makes you see again? You couldn't fake that. What about Jesus turning the water into wine? It was regular water drawn from a regular well, but Jesus made it wine. When the master of the banquet tasted it, he knew that it was the best wine he'd ever had! What about when Jesus cast the demons out of a man and sent them into the pigs? That man had been roaming around a graveyard for years, naked, demon possessed. He'd tormented many, many people who passed the graveyard to pay respects to the dead. But, Jesus cast the demons into pigs, and the man was found sitting - calm as a doornail - fully clothed, waiting to eat a civilized meal. The pigs, on the other hand, were driven mad and ran into a lake and drowned. If Jesus is not the Messiah, how did He do all of those things?
Sorry it kinda took me a while to answer - I was at a Renaissance festival all day. Yep... and you should know, your questions are really the only ones I am answering right now, because my elbow keeps me in constant pain. Anyway, feel special. Keep those questions coming!
Much love in Christ,

Why should Jews believe that Jesus was in fact the Messiah, when his name has made the blood run of millions of Jews run for Milleniums?
Isn't simply saying that you did some stupid stuff the easy way out? (link)
|
I'll answer the second question first.
Yes, if all you're doing is saying you're sorry, then yeah, that's the easy way out. But if you're sincere about believing that Jesus is the Lord and Savior... then you will be saved. "If you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord." And believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved!" - Romans 10:9 You see, acknowledging that there is a God isn't enough. Satan believes in God, so just believinging in God isn't going to save you. However, if you believe that Jesus is Lord, confess your sins, and ask Jesus to be your Messiah, then you will be saved. Yes, you could call that the 'easy way out', but if you mean it, it's not going to stay 'easy'. The life a Christian leads is filled with temptation, persecution, maybe facing death for the sake of being a Christian! You see, I was tempted not to answer this question. I have been persecuted - not chased all over town or anything, but when people tease, make fun, patronize, shove etc. me because I believe in Jesus Christ as my Savior and Lord. The reason it is 'easy' is because Jesus knows how downright lazy humans are. He wants this to be the easiest thing to do! That's why you don't have to do a bunch of stuff - as do the Muslims - to be saved. Do you understand that now? I know it's kindof hard to understand because, even if you are an adult, or if you are merely a teenager, it dumbfounds the mind to know that getting a one-way ticket to heaven is as easy as ABCD! (A- Admit you're wrong
B- Believe in your heart that God raised Jesus from the dead
C- Confess your sins and that Jesus is Lord
D- Don't wait!)
Now, question one. Ok, the way you worded that made it a bit confusing for me, but I think that you didn't mean to put the word 'run' in there twice. So, perhaps it should look like
"Why should Jews believe that Jesus was in fact the Messiah, when His name made the blood of millions of Jews run for mileniums?"
If that's not what you meant, then I have no idea what you were trying to say.
But, I'm not sure what you meant by that statement. If you were saying that Jews were afraid of the Name of Jesus, I'm not sure why. If you were saying that Jews were angered by the Name of Jesus, I can understand why. The reason why I say that Jews might be angered at the Name of Jesus Christ our Savior is the Jewish religious leaders, the Pharisees, Sanhedrin, Sadducees etc. HATED Jesus. I believe the Jewish leaders knew who Jesus really was, but because they were a part of history in the making, and they were under the power of Satan, they caused a ruckus about Christ. This could by why millions of Jews rejected Christ. Or, they could have rejected Christ because of rumors. There was a serious rumor that Jesus didn't rise from the dead, that His body was stolen. I don't see how He could have been 'stolen', though. When Christ was buried, he was wrapped up in linen strips. If He were still alive (which He wasn't) then He would have suffocated to death. So, now He's good and dead. Outside of Jesus' tomb was a HUGE stone. I'm not talking a twenty-pound little thing, I'm talking about something that weighs two tons and takes twelve Roman soldiers to move. Because, that's how big it was! How could Jesus move it, especially from the inside? And do you think that eleven puny disciples, almost all of whom were fishermen, could move a two-ton boulder? I think not. Then we have the guards. The Roman soldiers. Pilate placed two dozen (twenty-four) fully trained Roman guards to keep watch over Jesus' tomb. If one of them fell asleep, and someone reported him being asleep, he faced death. No one was sleeping on the job. So, the Jews think that the eleven puny disciples stole Jesus' body. They overpowered twenty-four Roman guards, then moved a two-ton rock, carried Jesus' corpse somewhere, kept Jesus, but continued to walk around the city? Does that even make sense?! No! It doesn't.
I don't know what else to say. Continue to ask questions. I'm going to a Medieval Renaissance festival, it's already 8:05 AM, and I need to leave!! Sorry it's short. Like I said, my elbow is killing me... maybe I should go to the doctor...
Much Love In Christ,

Prove to me that this is more truthful than any Jewish or Muslim writings and beliefs. (link)
|
Now we get into the fun stuff, huh? Well, here's my take on Islam:
Surely you are familiar with the Islamic Five Articles of Faith, correct? If not, here they are - complete with my 'spin' on them. :)
-The Creed (Kalima): "There is no God but Allah, and Muhammad is the Prophet of Allah," is the bedrock of Muslim belief. One must state this aloud publicly in order to become a Muslim. It is repeated constantly by the faithful.
-Prayer (Salat): Prayer as ritual is central to a devout Muslim. The practice of prayer (salat) five times a day (upon rising, at noon, in midafternoon, after sunset, and before retiring). The worshipper must recite the prescribed prayers (the first surah and other selections from the Koran) in Arabic while facing the Ka`aba in Mecca. The Hatith (book of tradition) has turned these prayers into a mechanical procedure of standing, kneeling, hands and face on the ground and so forth. The call to prayer is sounded by the muezzin (a Muslim crier) from a tower called a minaret which is part of the mosque (the place of public worship).
-Almsgiving (Zakat): Muhammad, himself an orphan, had a strong desire to help the needy. The alms giving originally was voluntary, but all Muslims are legally required to give one-fortieth of their income for the destitute. There are other rules and regulations for produce, cattle, etc. Freewill offerings aslo can be exercised.
Since those to whom alms are given are helping the gier to salvation, they feel no sense of debt to the giver. On the contrary, it is the giver's responsibility and duty to give and he should consider himself lucky he has someone to give to.
-Fasting (Ramadan): Faithful Muslims fast from sunup to sundown each day during htis holy month, The fast develops self-control, decotion to God, and identity with the destitue. No food or drink may be consumed during the daylight hours; no smoking or sexual pleasures may be enjoyed either. Many Muslims eat two meals a day during Ramadan, one before sunrise and one shortly after sunset.
-The Pilgrimage (Hajj): The pilgrimage is expected of all Muslims at least once in their lifetimes. It can be extremely arduous on the old or infirm, so in their cases they may send someone in their places. The trip is an essential part in the Muslims' gaining salvation. It involves a set of ceremonies and rituals, many of which center around the Ka`aba shrine, to which the pilgrimage is directed.
If you haven't noticed, the Muslim faith bases salvation off of works. You must give to the needy, help others, go to Ka`aba, and then, maybe you'll get to go to heaven. With Christianity all you have to say is, "Lord, I am a sinner. I have messed up big time and I need You to forgive me. Please come into my life and be my eternal Savior and Father. Thank you, Amen." Then, if you sincerely meant it - you're a Christian and you will go to heaven. No works are required of Christians. Yes, when you're on fire for God, you'll want to do things, but it's not required. Islam is unbiblical, and that's why I believe it is wrong. It is not, however, a cult. Just a non-Christian belief.
Of Judaism... first, Judaism has changed very, very much. It began with Abram in the Old Testament. Since then, it has been changed, mixed up, and twisted to decieve all believers. The Jewish statement of faith:
1. I believe with perfect faith that the Creator, blessed be His Name, is the Creator and Guide of everything that has been created; and He alone has made, does make, and will make all things.
2. I believe with perfect faith that the Creator, blessed be His Name, is One, and that there is no unity in any manner like unto His and that He alone is our God, who was, and who is, and who will be.
3. I believe with perfect faith that the Creator, blessed be His Name, is not a body, and that He is free from all the properties of matter, and that He has not any form whatever.
4. I believe with perfec faith that the Creator, blessed be His Name, is the first and the last.
5. I believe with perfect faith that the Creator, blessed be His Name, and to Him alone, it is right to pray, and that it is not right to pray to any being besides Him.
6. I believe with perfect faith that all the words of the profets are true.
7. I believe with perfect faith that the prophecy of Moses, our teacher, peace be unto him, was ture, adn that he was the chief of the prophets, bot of those who preceded and of those who followed him.
8.I believe with perfect faith that the whole Torah, now in our possession is the same that was given to Moses, our teacher, peace be unto him.
9. I believe with perfect faith that this Torah wil not be changed, and that there will never be any other Law from the Creator, blessed be His Name.
10. I believe with perfect faith that the Creator, blessed be His NAme, knows ever deed of the children of men, and all their thoughts, as it is said. It is He that fashioned the hearts of them all, that gives heed to all their works.
11. I believe with perfect faith that the Creator, blessed be His Name, rewards those that keep the commandments and punishes those that transgress them.
12. I beleive with perfect faith in the coming of the Messiah; and, though He tarry, I will wait daily for His coming.
13. I beleive with perfect faith that there will be a revival of the dead at the time when it shall please th Creator, blessed be His Name, and exalted be His Fame for ever and ever.
If you note Article 12. you'll see that they are still waiting for Christ. They do not believe that Jesus was the Messiah - where as Catholics, Protestants, and the Eastern Church do believe that Jesus is the Messiah - because He is!
This website, http://www.outreachisrael.net/statementoffaith.html, will tell you all about Judaism.
This website, http://www.usc.edu/dept/MSA/fundamentals/pillars/, will tell you all about Islam.
I believe the evidence speaks for itself. Since I'm a bit confused as to what the question was, or if I answered it, I'm leaving it alone now. I'm sorry this is so short. I'm having some elbow problems, and it hurts severely to type - so I'm quitting now.
God bless,

ok..i really screwed up, i know. heres my story. my BEST friend was going out with this guy for like 4 months, then they broke up for no particular reason, just that it wasnt really working out. but i became sort of friends with him while they were together. all my other friends said during the time they were together that the way he looked at me was as if he liked me and all that. i took no notice because i didnt want my to hurt my friend. once they broke up... and about 2 months later he called me and asked me if he could come over. i said yes. we rented some movies and watched them. then we started fooling around and one thing led to another and we were all over each other and making out! we didnt have sex though. he left and i felt enormous amounts of guilt because i promised myself and my best friend that nothing would ever happen between me and him. i didnt want to tell her but i figured she had a right to know. i asked other people about what to do and almost all of them said that i should tell her. so 4 days later i did. she didnt take it so well. she hasnt talked to me since. she has sent me messages of abuse, turned my other friends against me, wont talk to me about it. i say to her that i will talk when shes ready to talk- she says shes not ready yet..then sends me messages saying that i am avoiding her- i am just giving her the space she needs or wants rather. all i am asking is what should the next step that i take be?? should i confront her to her face and tell her that we are talking about this now whether you like it or not...or just leave it!!?? Please help me! i am really stuck. (link)

You need to talk to her. She thinks you're avoiding her because you're not pushing her, but if you were to push her about it, she'd probably get just as upset - if not more. She's feeling depressed, hurt, angry, uhappy, lost, alone, doubtful, curious and filled with negative awe. It will be hard to talk to her... believe me, I've been in situations where I had to tell my best friend something and I was so afraid... but I did it. And we're still friends (been friends for tops of eight years). Think about if you were in her shoes (I know this is REALLY hard to do, but try to imagine if you were your best friend). You'd probably be mad, too. Because you kinda lied (not purposefully! It just happened) and you kinda broke a promise (like I said, things happen.) She feels hurt because you kissed her ex right after they broke up. She doesn't understand how this could happen to her. She's depressed because she feels like she lost her boyfriend and her best friend.
Talk to her face to face. Give her a hug, apologize over and over. If you really want to keep your best friend, you'll dump the guy. Girl-friends are so important - you shouldn't lose them over a boyfriend. I wouldn't suggest talking to her over AIM, the phone, or E-mails because it's so easy for her to dodge. But if you talk face-to-face, it's too hard to dodge.
Stop giving her that room. Sit her down and say that you're sorry, you got carried away, you're not "with" him anymore, you're not going back with him, and you want her back. Hugs - lots of hugs. Don't hesitate to cry, and if she cries, more hugs are in store. Be kind and gentle with her... this is a tender subject for her. Pray about this, too. Pray with her. Ask for forgiveness. I can't promise that it'll be the same between y'all, but... it'll be better than it is now.

is it normal that when you put your hand on your stomach you feel a heartbeat-like thing? it like pumps and feels like there is a heart beating in your stomach? everytime i touch my stomach it is like that, as if it has its own pulse or something. (link)
|
Yep. You've found a vein. If you're putting your hand on your stomach at the bottom of your ribcage, you're feelng the echo (vibrations) of your heart. But if you're putting your hand lower, and towards one of the sides, you're feeling a vein. It's not an artery though, because they don't pulsate the same way veins do. When I put my hand on my stomach, near the bottom of my sternum, I feel my heart, sometimes I can feel it lower than that, and I feel it when I'm touching a vein. You're perfectly normal! (what an absurd thought! Lol)

Tell me if this shirt is cute for a car chick, like me.
Its white and too big so i tie it in the back (i have a long tight black tank under) On the front ot says FORD with the blue and white letters. On the back:
"My daddy drives a bad stang and i will drive it when i get bigger".
I need your advice..... I RATE HIGH (link)
|
Oh, yeah! Go for it! That sounds awesome! That would be amazing. I think that, if you're a car chick, and you hang out with car chicks and car dudes, they'll love it. Cause I'm not a car chick, and I think that'd be great for a 'car chick'. :)

i crack my neck and my friend thinks that it will make my neck all messed up when im older...is that true? i dont wanna be messed up when im old!!! lol
will rate high (link)

Lol I do the same thing. I'm trying not to, because there is a chance it might cause Arthritis. (not something that you want to mess with - especially if it runs in your family - as it does in mine). I would try and stop because of the chance, and you might disalign (sorry about spelling) a vertebrae. Or hurt a tendon or muscle. Or pull a nerve. There's just alot that could go wrong, that's why I'm trying to stop. That's just my opinion though. :)

PROVE to me that Jesus died on the cross, and died for me. (link)
|
Hmm... Ok. I will try and PROVE to you that JEsus died on the cross, and died for you. First, I am not sure I understand your question. If Jesus died, why would he die for only one person or one group of people? He would die - and did die - for all people who were willing to accept his free gift of Salvation. Will you accept this gift? I did when I was seven, and I do not regret it. I will never regret my choice.
Ok, so, you might be wondering if Jesus really was man, because we say He was God, so how can He be man, too?
Jesus was human. He was :
-Jesus was born - Matthew 1:18-24
-Jesus grew intellectually and physically - Luke 2:52
-Jesus was hungry - Matthew 4:2
-Jesus grew weary - John 4:6
-Jesus needed sleep - John 11:35
-Jesus died - John 11:33
Of course, Jesus was also God.
-Jesus is the Word - John 1:1
-Jesus is equal with God - John 14:9
-Jesus is the same as God the Father - John 5:8
-Hope rests on Jesus - Titus 2:13
-Believe that Jesus was the Son of God - John 13:19
-Jesus created all things - John 1:3, Colossians 1:6, Hebrews 1:10
-Jesus upholds all things - Colossians 1:17, Hebrews 1:3
-Jesus directs and guides the course of history - I Corinthians 10:1-11
-Jesus forgives sin - Mark 2:5-12, Colossians 3:13
-Jesus bestows eternal life - John 11:25, John 5:21, John 5:28-29
-Jesus will be the judge of all men in the final judgement - John 5:22, John 5:27, Matthew 25:31-46, II Corinthians 5:10
So, as you can see, Jesus made some remarkable claims, didn't He? The fact that He was hungry and needed sleep are quite remarkable. You see, the AntiChrist will not need sleep, food or drink. Of course, if you want to know about this ... pleasant character, so fondly called the AntiChrist, you'll have to ask more. But, back to Jesus.
Read Matthew 26:1-75, Matthew 27:1-65, Matthew 28:1-14. (the length is the only reason I did not type it out right here.) It covers the Last Supper, the betrayal, Him being tried before the Sanhedrin, Peter's denials, Jesus being delivered to Pilate, Judas being remorseful, Jesus being examined by Pilate, the choice between Jesus and Barabbas being made by the crowd. The crowd choses Barabbas to go free. The King is crowned with thorns, He is then led to Golgatha (place of crucifixion), Jesus is crucified, Jesus' death fulfills the law, Jesus is buried. Christ is resurrected, the commonly mistaken things. - all in that order - depending on your version of the Bible. If you do not own a Bible, I'd be happy to type that for you, but that is quite a bit.
I believe that Christ died a brutal death. He was flogged with a Cat of Nine Tails. This was a rod which had nine pieces of leather hanging off of it. On these leather strips, sharp objects such as rocks, glass, metal etc. was tied on. Jesus was hit with this awful thing thirty-nine times. (if anyone was struck forty times officially, then he was free from the law). Only about 2% of the people who were flogged that many times lived. Jesus had a crown of thorns pushed down upon His head. Not set daintily on His head, this crown was shoved upon His head so He would be in pain and bleed. When Jesus was forced to carry His own cross (at least one hundred pounds of solid wood - probably much, much more) and He couldn't do it alone because He was weak, a man from the crowd stepped up to help. When Jesus was hung, He forgived the man on His right because the man asked for forgiveness. Because of the Sabbath law, these men had to die. The men on Jesus' left and right had their legs broken so they could not push up and breathe. When the soldiers got to Jesus, He was already dead. To be sure He was dead, a soldier pierced His side. A mixture of blood and water flowed from this wound. This is important because if He was alive it would have been just blood, but He was dead, so the water flowed out, too. Then, on the third day, Jesus rose from the dead.
I'm not sure what else I can tell you. If you have any more questions, feel free to ask. I'm sorry it took so long. You are in my prayers, and I pray that God makes this clear to you.
In Christ's love,

I have hated my church since I started going there. I want to go to a church where I know people and they go to my school but my mom and dad thinks its a good idea to go to church as a family. I love God and all but since their like dragging me to go I go in a bad attitude and they say thats why I can't make any friends. Is this true? and how can I like the church I'm going to? (link)
|
I'm really sorry it took me so long...
Wow. This is my story re-told. I wish I could help you more, but I'll do my best. You see, I'm struggling with the same thing. My parents love our church, Clearview. But, I can't stand it. I am not accepted because I don't go to CCMS, I'm not 'into' boys the same way they are, and I'm serious about my studying the Scriptures. I am teased, ridiculed, and - most of all - an outcast. Mind you, I've come to love this role, but it's not fun at times. I have (seriously) one friend and one acquaintance at my church. My one friend is a guy. And, the sad part is, my church has guys and girls separated for everything except Wednesday night worship. So, when I do see him, we don't get to talk, and he's not 'there' part of the time because he plays in the band. My acquaintance is female, and our only common bond is the fact that neither of us can stand our Sunday school teacher. (We're in the same girls Sunday school class) my Sunday school teacher knows almost nothing about the Bible; she must read it from the lesson book. Pretty pathetic, huh? The girls in my Sunday school class are very dim-witted as well. Not that I make perfect grades or anything, but most of the girls in my class have a C- average. I think it's pretty pathetic when the girls that are leaving middle school (or are already in high school) don't know what the Rapture is. Ok, ok. I admit. I'm a geek about this. I love the Rapture. I can't wait for it to come. I love reading Joel, Hosea, Revelation, Daniel.. and fictional books based on the prophecies! Oh, the bliss! Left Behind: The Series by Tim LaHaye and Jerry B. Jenkins! The Revelations, Babylon Rising.. all wonderful! Nothing compared to the Bible, but, still awesome! Fictional books will put what is in the Bible into more simplistic and entertaining words so that you're encouraged to look up the passages. So, you can understand why I was a little shocked when those girls went, "HUH? What's a Rapture?".
Ok, now to your story. I wish I could help you more, I really do. I'm struggling with my Sunday school teacher right now. I want to hate her. ( Lol..) but I can't. I'm praying that God will help me to love her. I don't think there's a way that you can "make yourself" like your church, or even love it. All you can do is endure it. I've been going to Clearview for about four years. To tell the truth, I've learned nothing except that some people are so stupid about the stupid things. Who would have thought that just because I am homeschooled they wouldn't accept me? Of course, there are other things. For instance, I am not "boy crazy". Sure, there is a guy that I like. Sadly, he doesn't go to my church (and I don't blame him, either.) but I'm not infatuated by any 'hott' guy. Because, 1) what is a 'hott' guy? Isn't that a matter of opinion? I mean, maybe I thought that a dead rat was soo cute, but you thought it was disgusting. Neither opinion is factual, it would only be opinion. Thus, how can there be a 'hott' guy? Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I'm also serious about studying God's word. You know in John 2 where the Wedding Banquet is described? Well, for one Sunday my class was supposed to 'write an article to the editor of the newspaper' about the wedding. We were on 'teams' and the other girl who wrote the article ... well, it was something like this: "There was a wedding party! It was the top of the town, y'all! Some of them people who came got drunk and acted like pinheads, some of them were stoned, and this party was off the roof! " Ok, that's really stupid in my opinion because... good grief! This is the account of Jesus' first miracle! It's supposed to be serious. I wrote several paragraphs about the wedding banquet. I hate to say it, but I think that everyone was bored. They liked the other person's account better.
Talk to your Youth pastor and maybe your Pastor. I talked to mine, and it didn't help. But I talked to them! Explain to your mom and dad what you don't like about your church and ask to visit another church. I asked this very question, and the Sunday after Christmas, I went to a friends church. I enjoyed it, but my mom is content where we are... so... we're not leaving. Pray about it. A solid church family is important. Yes, it's possible to live and grow without one, because I have done this. However, I'm privileged enough to have awesome friends who help me in my walk (without knowing it, sometimes) and I go to a Community Bible Study where I can grow and walk in my faith. I wish that I could say that I have a good church, but that'd be lying. We're the same. Pretty cool, huh? Too bad we're the same. It smurfs. All I can say is be honest with your mom, talk to your Youth pastor and maybe your Pastor, pray about it, andâ?¦ if all else fails, go goth. (HA HA HA!) You see, everyone (except my one friend) think I'm goth or kindof ... strange. I admit and confess to the second one, but I'm not goth. Yes, I do wear black frequently, high tops, and rubber bands... but I'm not goth. My newest 'thing' is electrical tape. It's awesome. If you can be 'scary' enough at your church, no one will bother you. It also helps if you don't talk. I love staring at the wall, never making eye contact or looking at people's faces. Pick a spot on the wall and watch it as if your life depended on it. It gets a little creepy after a while. (Which would be the point.) But, I'm a nice person. (Or I hope so) I do Drama, I praise the Lord. I take Sign Language from an adult in my church; I paint backdrops for children's musicals. I'm not goth. I may look that way, but it's only for appearances. There's a guy in my church, and I don't know him very well at all, but he used to be (maybe still is.. I don't know him at all) the same as I am. He never looked completely and totally happy (but he WAS happy, just in a way that I couldn't understand. I understand it now... 'cause I have it too), and always wore black. He had one friend who was equally weird as he. I have to admit; I was intimidated by him as a sixth grader. Now, I'm older, and he's actually really cool. I don't know him though. I don't walk up to guys and proclaim them my friend. Some girls can do that, but not me.
Try and make some new friends. Friends always help the situation. If you're in the same sticky mess as I am, nobody likes you... we can sing 'the song' together! Ready? 1, 2, 3, GO!
Nobody likes me! Everybody hates me! I guess I'll go eat worms! Nobody likes me! Everybody hates me! I guess I'll go eat worms!
Ha ha. Don't you love it? Ok, I know this couldn't have been very helpful.. kindof a waste of your life. Hmm... oh well. * shrugs * I hope things get better for you!! Yet, this is the millionth time I've said it, and it is still my best advice for you: Talk to God, talk to your mom, talk to your Youth pastor. In that order.
Much love in Christ,

Im so scared ive had this little lump on my head under neath my hair for about a year now.. its where i burnt my head with hair straightners its the size of about nail head the nails you hammer in to wood and stuff. Its hard its not squishy so it cant b a spot!! its red aswell and im scared in case it might be cancer i told my mum about it and she just said oh it will go away!! anyone have an idea what it is? I RATE 5 ***** IF YOU HELP ME PLEASE IM SO SCARED!! (link)
|
It's probably not cancer. That's probably a 1/1,000 chance. I have a "bump" like that, too. But, I know what mine is. It's just a 'swolen' gland. It runs in my family. There is a good chance that your 'bump' is the same thing.
When a gland is swolen like mine is, it is most of the time a permanent thing. I don't remember when I first found out that I had a swolen, but it was several years ago. And I still have it. If you're really worried about it, convince your mom to take you to the doctor.
The fact that it's hard makes me think it's a swolen gland. Mine is about the size of a nail head too. Don't be so afraid. If the bump gets alot bigger (it should grow with you, as glands do) then you might get worried, but not so soon. I don't know what color my 'bump' is, 'cause it is at the back of my neck, so I can't see it. It could be red. Who knows. Lol. Don't get so worked up. It's okay.

I dont have normal nightmares like most people. My worst nightmares are falling down the stairs. Lame huh? So i'd just be stepping down these wooden stairs, and i'd hesitate on the last step, and fall. I always wake up with a fast heart beat. What does this mean??? (link)
|
What do they mean? Well, it kinda sounds like you're afraid of wooden stairs. Perhaps I'm wrong. Perhaps you absolutely ADORE wooden stairs. But I bet you don't.
A faster heart beat just means that your dream was:
-invigorating
-scary
-exciting
-all of the above
Anything that would cause you to be frightened or excited (thus your body making Adrenaline) will cause your heart beat to speed up.
Be glad your dreams aren't bad. I hate having nightmares... and it's not often that I do... but I ALWAYS remember them. The first time I watched Jurassic Park (I was about eight) I had a nightmare... over and over for a few weeks. I remember every detail of that dream. (It wasn't a fun dream.) Perhaps you're a calm person and just don't like stairs. That's no biggie. Be thankful. Your dreams probably don't mean anything but you're uncomfortable around wooden stairs.
