I love giving advice, and I've been told that I do a good job at it, but I'll let you decide! Feel free to ask me anything... don't be shy, that's why I'm here. I've been through a lot... moving from one country to another, leaving and finding new friends, break ups, boys, middle school, high school, college, self esteem issues... pretty much most things that people need help with.
I usually spend a good amount of time answering your questions, so I would really appreciate it if you leave me an honest rating along with some feedback (good or bad!) It really does help me improve my advice... and in the end, that's good for YOU! Talk to ya soon! :)

I use Ban brand deodorant, which is supposed to be a good quality brand Im told, but I still sweat under there. I put it on once in the morning, but it wont work all day. I was wondering if there is a "magical" deodorant that stays on all day and works great. I also dance, so I need one thats strong. I cant seem to find the deodorant that is right for me. Maybe there are some other ways to stop the sweating. Thanks for the help!
hey!! ok i've tried like every kind of deodorant/antiperspirant out there, and NOTHING has worked as well as Mitchum!! it's cheap, it smells good, and it doesn't leave ANY marks on your clothes whatsoever. it also lasts for soo long... like it says on the deodorant, it's "so effective, you can skip a day!" i use the gel, but they also have a solid form... deffinitely try it out, because it's great! if that doesn't work for you, then go to the doctor and get a prescription for a stronger deodorant than what is sold over the counter! :)
Hi,
I read your advice regarding the bleeding due to the morning after pill. I too, took my pill 5 days ago but my bleeding started since thruday night and its sunday evening at the moment, are you supposed to bleed for 5-7 days like normal periods or what i am undergoing is abnormal bleeding?
hey! honestly, with the morning after pill it's not exactly clear how long the bleeding will last... it depends on the person and all that. you could bleed for a few days, then stop and start again. it could also throw off your period. it all depends on how the pill effects you, how much lining you are shedding, etc. if it seems abnormal to you and you are worried, then i suggest going to see a doctor just to make sure everything is ok. actually, i suggest going to the doctor no matter what to find out whether you are pregnant or not ASAP, because the pill is only between 70 and 80% effective against pregnancy! :) good luck! let me know if you need more help!
okay so my best friend has been seeing this guy, well shes been kind of ignoring me.. and then she made out with him last night for the first time, and she didnt tell me first..she told all my other friends.. who are her friends too, and they ended up telling me.. i dont know i got really mad about this and can u please tell me if im over reacting? bc i think she blew me off the other night to go hang out with him too.. plz help
hey!! alright so there are two things going on here... first of all, it sucks when a good friend finds a bf and ditches you for him... most people go through that. if they just started dating, give her a little bit of time... like no more than a month and see if she still continues to do this. if she does, then you can approach her (nicely) about it and tell her that you are happy for her but you feel left out. why wait a month? because if they just started dating, she is still excited about the whole thing and wants to spend a lot of time with him. plus, she is much more likely to be understanding if you say "for the past month i've felt left out" as opposed to saying "you've ditched me the last week"!! you guys can work something out... maybe have a day where she can hang out with you without bringing him, a day to hang out with just him and every now and then, both of you can hang out with her and a few other people. mixing things up like that is the best way to make sure that no one feels left out (you, her bf or her other friends).
now, moving on to the making out and not telling you thing... a lot of times, believe it or not, people feel the shyest around people they are closest to. the reason she didn't tell you first is most likely because she was nervous about it and didn't know how to bring it up. it might not make sense that she would feel this way around her best friend... but think about it... she was nervous because you mean the most to her out of all her friends, and she doesn't want to say anything stupid in front of you because you are important to her, and your opinion of her actually matters to her. she was just afraid of screwing up. it's completely normal... most of my good friends have done that, and i have too. it takes a lot of weight off when you tell people whose opinions you don't really care about, and then let the news make its way to those closest to you. just approach her about it and say something like "so i hear last night was a big night for you" or something like that. basically, don't make it a big deal and get her comfortable so that she can open up to you and tell you about it. eventually your friendship will become stronger and more open as you two continue to do this, and no one will be shy about spilling anything to the other one!
well, as you can see, you're not in the most fun situation right now, but everyone goes through it so don't worry. all it takes is an honest talk or two to make those problems go away... there is no need for fights and drama, although you do have the right to be hurt. if after talking to her a couple of times she still doesn't care about your feelings, then you can think about making her a less important friend in your life and finding someone who will respect your feelings! :) good luck and let me know if you need more help!
what are the chanches of a condom breaking when have sex?
Hey! aahhh ok there is deffinitely NOT a 90 percent chance that a condom will break (response below mine)! That would mean that out of 100 people using a condom, 90 of them will end up with a broken one and as a result possibly get pregnant! Condoms are 97% effective... meaning that 97 out of 100 times, IF they are USED CORRECTLY they should collect all the sperm and not lead to a pregnancy. That means that the chance of a condom breaking is 3%!! If the condom is too small on the guy or if it is placed incorectly, there is a higher change that it will break. Also, if there isn't enough lubrication, the condom can break as well from the friction.
So what should you do? Read all the information on the back of the condom and know how to use it! Check the package before opening it to make sure there are no holes or rips anywhere (if there are, throw it away). If the condom is too small or too big on the guy, don't use it! use a lubricant to make sure there is less friction... make sure to use a WATER based lubricant that won't dissolve the latex condom! if the lubricant is ok to use with condoms, it WILL say on the back of the package! if it doesn't say... don't use it! When placing the condom on the guy, make sure to leave about half an inch to an inch in the front for the sperm to collect, and squeeze the tip while placing it on to make sure there are no air bubbles which can cause it to rip more easily!
to be extra safe, you may want to use spermacide... but be careful because it is irritating to a lot of people. or try and get on the pill... they are up to 99.7% effective if they are used correctly! let me know if you need more help!
i'm fifteen yrs old. i'll be sixteen in 3 months. which isn't very far away. in november i met a guy and i really liked him. we talked for a whole day and then he asked me out. I said yes and i fell wayy hard. we had a relationship like no other. we deffently fell in love. he was 17. his birthday is in like two weeks. when we broke up i made an agreement with myself to get him back because i really did love him.. we were apart for a month and he dated people and so did i but we always found ourselves making out and holding hands every chance we got and talking on the phone everynight and still saying i love you. then he went out with my best friend and this completely killed me. one week later they broke up because she cheated on him and then he asked me back out. i didn't even hisitate to say yes. i had the love of my life back. this time we've been together for 4 months. it's been nothing short of amazing. we've seriously been through everything and we have an undying love for each other. last week my mom told me that she didn't want us dating any more being she thinks he's too old and she thinks he s a loser because he droped outa school. ive tried talking to her about this before and it worked. but she said this time her mind is final. this guy is really my everything but his friends don't like me. they think i cheat on him and stuff and are constinaly telling him he can do better. well we've been trying so hard to stay together and now he's ready to just give up. i think he got this idea from his friends but even tough we broke up last night.. nothing's changed.. i think he's coming over tomorrow to talk to me about it and i even wrote him a long email... if i dont get him back i swear i'll die. any advice for me...
i'm not goin gto move on so don't bother telling me that...
any questions about anything just ask.
hey! alright well i'm sorry all of this happened... it's a bit of a tough situation. obviously you must really like the guy if you forgave him for dating your best friend! on the other hand, im not sure why your best friend did such a thing to begin with?
anyway, there are two things you need to do to try and make the relationship work. as far as him and his friends go... you are absolutely right, he is starting to give up because his friends keep telling him bad things about you and the relationship. even though he might ignore their comments, some of them over time will get to him if they haven't already. let's face it... our friends have a big influence on our lives. he obviously isn't controlled by his friends, which is a good thing, but they do influence him a little bit which is normal. to solve that problem, talk to him about his friends. ask him what they say about you and why they say those things. don't yell or bad mouth them... they are his friends, and he will be upset if you do. talk about the whole situation, and be patient. tell him that you want to get to know them better so that they can like you and you can like them too. because friends have a big influence on people, once they like you, they will say good things about you to him and encourage the relationship, which will in turn encourage him to keep trying to make it work. you don't have to kiss their a**, but you should be nice to them and get to know them. they might try to resist at first, but eventually they should start to like you!
second problem is your mom. she thinks he is too old, even though he is only a year older than you? unless you mean that he is turning 18 in 2 weeks... which would mean he is 2 years older. but that's not a big deal either! i think she is just saying that to find more excuses to get you guys to break up. in reality, i think the reason she is upset about it is because he dropped out of high school. that is not something that parents see as a good thing... ever, so i can see why she is being this way about the whole situation. i think you should sit down and talk to her again. explain to her that it's not like you are getting married to this guy, so it doesn't really matter if he is a drop out. tell her that he won't influence you in any negative ways, and if anything, you might even be able to influence him to change and finish up school and maybe even go on to college. explain to her that he is a good person with good intentions, and that he cares about you and you care for him. tell her to put herself in your shoes and imagine if someone had told her who to date and not to date when she was young. reassure her that you are old and responsible enough to decide who to date, and that if you feel like the relationship is not right at any point, you can deal with the break up. it's hard enough dealing with a relationship to begin with, but having a parent stand in the way makes it nearly impossible. tell your mom you want her to get to know him better, and invite him over for dinner with the family so she can see he is a good guy!
let me know if you need more help, and i hope all of this helps. it might not all work out over night, but i think if you try to be on better terms with his friends and get him on better terms with your mom, things should go smoothly from there! :) good luck!
what's the difference between a "Tampon" and a "Tampad??" I'll rate accordingly.
hey! ok a tampad?? what is that? lol i've never heard that word in my life and i've had my period for 6 years now (unfortunately). did someone make it up or something? a tampon is (as you know) the thing that you insert inside you to collect blood as it flows out. you need to change the tampon every 4 to 6 hours so that you don't increase your risk of TSS (a rare but deadly disease caused by bacteria which collects on a tampon left inside you for too long). a lot of women like tampons because they are less messy since than pads, because the blood never even comes out. they are also more comfortable because pads can feel like diapers. pads, as you know, are the things that you line your underwear with so that when blood comes out, it is absorbed by the pad, and not your underwear.
as far as "tampads" go... maybe whoever said that word was talking about PANTYLINERS, which are really thin pads that some women use along with tampons in case the tampon leaks a little bit. that's just a guess though, because that word deffinitely doesn't exist! :) haha let me know if you need more help!
my best best best friend is moving to eather London or Dubai! im really upset and most days of the week i end up crying at night. theres absolutaly nothing i can do about it. its a definate and i only have one more month with her. who knew our 7 year friend ship would come to a end. im so upset. please help
hey! aawww im sorry! :( i moved when i was younger and had to leave my best friend of 8 years. it sucked really bad, and i cried about it all the time because i felt like i will never get over the loss. it's perfectly normal to cry and let it all out. you are sad... you should be sad, and that is OK! crying will help, so don't be ashamed to do it. as far as what to do, you guys can call and email each other. post pictures online if you have digital cameras on a place like yahoo pictures so that you can each see how the other one is living and stuff. fill her in on everything and have her do the same. you guys will be friends forever... you are not losing a friend, you are just not going to see her as much! save up money and maybe go visit her for the whole summer in a couple of years! calling might be too expensive, so you should deffinitely get a calling card... or even better, each one of you should get SKYPE (at http://skype.com/download/). it's a free software that you download onto your computer and then "call" each other for free using the computer! all you need is a microphone and speakers so you can talk to each other... and if you have web cams, you can even see each other as you talk! all you would have to do is arrange a time when you can both talk, and one of you will "call" the other one using skype... it's easy and free!! it's normal to be sad, but don't worry eventually everything will be ok! just keep in touch and you guys will be friends forever... no matter where you live! :)
Hello. Well I've had mono before, a really bad case of it. It put me out of commmission for like a month and a half.
I've been making out with this guy, and he said something about having mono, but then he said he was just kidding when I tried to prod him about it later.
I know you always have mono in your system as a dormant "disease" if you will, but my throat got sore the day after I made out with him for the first time and now its getting very swollen like it did when my mono started acting up.
Is it possible for my mono to flare up because of his? He says he doesnt have it, but he has been wheezing, breathing hard, and when he sleeps he snores really bad.
At the moment I have NO insurance so I need to know if it's possible for mono to flare up again.
Thanks,
SORE THROAT
hey! yes it's possible, and since you have no insurance, you want to go to the doctor IMMEDIATELY so that they can see what is wrong and give you medicine. if you have mono, the longer you wait to start treating it, the more severe it will get, and the more costly it will be for you. my friend had it once and ended up in the hospital for a few days because he didn't get it treated early. staying at the hospital for a couple of days with no insurance will cost you a couple thousand dollars, so hurry up and get checked out now so that you can avoid that! good luck!! :)
I'm 13, and basically, I have pretty bad breats. It's genetic. Small and pointy, and barely 32A. (I suspect it's probably going to stay that way too, because I started developing 5 years ago and my whole family looks like me) Do you think I'd look ridiculous if I wore a bikini to the pool next week? If so, what would look ok?
hey!! ok i'm not lecturing you... but you are only 13 so you might grow more... but you might not, who knows! i'm 20 and my boobs are about that size too... and i wear bikinis all the time! in fact that's all i ever wear. and i think i look good in it, so i know you will look good (and not ridiculous at all) if you wore one. if you are running around the pool feeling ridiculous and telling people that you look ridiculous, then you will look ridiculous to them. but if you go in there and know that you look good and are confident about it, then everyone will think you look good... yeah, it's that easy, and i wish i learned that when i was 13! :)
the point is, you can't change what you have (and you shouldn't want to) so why freak out about it? it's probably much easier and less ridiculous for a small chested girl to wear a triangle top than it is for a girl with DDs! they need a LOT of support (and fabric lol) so it's so hard for them to even find a bikini... you should have NO trouble so be happy about that!! wear any kind of bikini you like... i generally go for ones with a bit more padding! that way they will make your boobs look more rounded and a bit bigger! :) have fun at the pool!
My 7th grade dance dress is a halter style but has a really really low cut V neckline. (I ordered it online and didn't realize that it was so low) I bought a strapless bra but it SHOWS a little in the back and A LOT in the front!! It is too late to return the dress and I have no money for another. And oh yeah there's no way I'll be allowed to go without a bra. So what do I do????
hey! well i'm not sure if it's too late to return the dress because i don't know when the dance is, i don't know where you got it and i don't know when you got it! haha but what you can do is go shopping for a new bra and take the dress with you. your best bet would be to try the underwear section of a big department store like macy's. there are soo many different bras out there, some are cut lower than others and what not, so pick a few up and try them on with the dress to see what shows through and what doesn't. if you can't find one that is covered on all sides, then pick a color bra to match the dress (ex. black bra if the dress is black) so that it is less noticeable if it shows a little bit.
if none of those work, you can try the bra cups that you just glue on to your boobs to cover the nipple and part of the breast. you can find them at department stores and victoria's secret... they are usually nude colored and deffinitely won't show!
if none of those work, then maybe try tying the dress a little higher up or even wearing a matching tube top or something under it. those are pretty much the only things you can do in this case. or you could call the store where you got this from and see what their return policies are if you really don't want the dress! good luck :)
My friend gave me a bottle of purfume that she didnt want a couple of months ago. She doesn't know where she got it from, and im not sure whats it called. But im in LOVE with it. It smells awesome. It has a blue cap and the bottle starts at a blue at the top and fades to a pink towards the bottom. Its sort of tall and skinnier, not short and wide. It has 3 hearts on the bottom one inside the other. Right below the cap, theres pink chrome and the letters e s c a d a, seperated by hearts. im not sure wich order the letters are in because i dont know where the letts start and stop. if you could tell me what this purfume is called i will def. rate a FIVE and give feedback. thxx
hey!!! ok i think this might be it... but i'm not 100% sure so if it's the wrong one let me know and i'll look around some more for you! :)
it's called Escada Island Kiss... this below is a picture of it so you can make sure it's the one you need! :)

ok this may sound slutty, but im defiantly not slutty!
Ok so for some odd reason i bleed when my boyfriend fingers me... and then the other day we had sex for the first time and i barely bled.... so why do you think i bleed everytime he fingers me..?
any advice would help.
kthx. :)
hey! ok it doesn't sound slutty, it's your boyfriend ... it happens. haha anyway, you are right that is odd that it happens when he fingers you but not really during sex. does it hurt when he does it? maybe his nails are on the long side and are scratching you and hurting you? or maybe you were too tight before if you guys just started doing this stuff recently? regardless, it's normal to bleed a little bit at first, but if this continues to happen and/or it hurts, deffinitely go see a doctor and make sure everything is ok!
ijust broke up with ny girlfriend 1 month ago im aboutto be 20 and she took all my friends with her and even worse she goes out telling everyone that i was the worst that i took advantage of her that i never appreciated her when in the end ill do everything to keep her happy and all she would do is complain now she moved out of her parents house and is not doing anything with her life and i feel bad because this was the girl i wanted to maryry now im left with a brokenheart and regret i need someones help im really depressed i know every one says ill move on but it doesnt seem that way so far because i knew for sure that she was was my soulmate but in the end i turned to be wrong she was too high maintenece i though it was normal but well im hoping someone can help
hey! ok first of all, it's normal that you are still not over her... i tell everyone this, but it takes about 2 months of not talking to or seeing someone to completely get over them. it could take a little more time or a little less time, it depends. but it is important not to communicate with her so that you can get her off your mind and move on.
you are sad about what happened, but at the same time in your question it seems that you are a bit relieved. you say that she is too high maintainance... meaning you actually had to do a lot of work to keep her happy. that may be ok for some people, but the fact that you say she is ungrateful makes it NOT ok. she is going around bad mouthing you for 2 possible reasons: one is that she really doesn't appreciate anything you (or anyone else) has done for her, and two, she could be doing that to help herself get over you... because even though she broke up with you, there are still feelings there i'm sure. if you are doing all this work for someone to make them happy and they don't aknowledge it, then why even waste your time? when you do something nice for someone, they return the favor down the road... if she doesn't even realize that you are doing her favors, she will never give you anything in return... which is what a relationship is all about, give and take!
lastly, you say that she is going nowhere with her life. there is another thing to think about to help you get over her. do you have a life path planned out for yourself, and are you doing things to help achieve your goals? if you do, then that's great, and if you don't, take advantage of the fact that you are "free" to start working on your future. if she has nothing to bring to the table, why stress over the fact that it's over?
all you need to do... and really all you can do is change your attitude about the whole situation. you have to believe that you will get over this in order to start getting over it and move on. all it takes is time and faith... everyone goes through hard times, and now it's your time. just get it over with and it will make you a stronger person in the end. don't waste time sitting around being depressed. every minute you spend sad and lonely is a minute you will never get back. go out, enjoy life, see what the single life has to offer and find a new girl along the way that will appreciate everything you do for her! you deserve it! :)
lastly, she might come back soon and try to get back together with you, but if you are almost over her then i wouldn't reccomend getting back with her. it's normal that she might regret her decision, but if you go back to her she will feel in control and will treat you even worse knowing that you will forgive her. like i said, you don't sound too happy about her in your question, and if she broke up with you once there was a reason for it and she might do it again. then you will be hurt again and have to start all over trying to get over her. so avoid her at all costs, and one day soon you will wake up and won't even remember her name! :) let me know if you need more help, and sorry it was soo long!
hey i added you to be my fave.columnist is that ok?
thx
haha no problem!! ill add you too! :)
OMG! thanks for the other help you've given me! wow u must be really smart. i have more questions on chemistry! if you can answer some or all, it doesnt amtter, i just need help!
What is the general abbreviation for halides?
and is CH3COOH an organic acid?
and in C2H5OH+CH3OH-->C2H5OCH3+H2O on the product side what organic comound is formed? i don't know weather it's an ester, a keyone,a n acid, or an ether. how can you tell?
hey! aaww thanks... i don't know about really smart but i just took organic chemistry one and two last year and i'm majoring in pharmacy so i kind of know my sciences! :) thanks tho!
anyway, i can't think of what the abbreviation for a halide is, but i know it's a binary compound (has atoms of 2 different elements) and one part of it is a halide (group VII... F, Cl, Br, I...) and the second part is another element (ex. group one metals)! an example of a halide is NaCl aka sodium chlorIDE.
CH3COOH is an organic acid (an acid is something that donates protons (H's), and organic means that it contains Cs and Hs!
lastly, the product is an ESTER... if you draw out the formula you will end up with the O group surrounded by a C on each side... that is the characteristic of the ester functional group. here is a website with what all the functinal groups look like:
http://web.mit.edu/esgbio/www/chem/functgroups.html
hope that helped a little! :)
I kinda want guys to answer this question, because they would know this kind of stuff. What makes a girl sexy?
hey! well i know i'm not a guy but since this website has a lot more girls than guys on it, i don't know if you'll get an answer. but i've had this conversation with many guys in the past and they all say the same thing... confidence makes a girl sexy. you can be the most gorgeous girl in the world, but if you are not comfortable with yourself, then that's not sexy. on the other hand, an average looking girl is sexy if she is confident in herself and what she has to offer! that attracts guys because let's face it... if you DON'T think you are good and have NO confidence, guys will think "why should i even give her a chance? what's good about her? there must be nothing special if she doesn't even like what she has to offer." hope that helps... you don't have to rate since i'm not a guy and that's what you wanted haha :)
well theres this guy i sorta like. but my friends really dont like him. and im embarrased to go out with him or what ever. i dunno what to do cus i cant stop likeing him!
yeah you totally should stay away from him... i mean your friends will play a big part in your relationship, so you need to have their approval about who to date!!
ok im totally kidding, of course it doesn't really matter what your friends think about the guy you are dating!! well... kind of! has he done something really mean to them? has he hurt them in any way? has he embarassed them, or does he have any intentions to hurt them in the future? if you answered no to all of these, then your friends have no reason not to like him. you don't tell your friends who to date, so why should they be telling you? you can listen to their opinion and see what they think, but in the end you have to listen to your heart and go after what YOU want. you are the one who will have to deal with this boy, so the decision is all yours. it's good to listen to what your friends think, but don't let it influence you to the point where you are living your life based on what they want and not what you want.
nowdays it's hard enough to find a good guy who you like and who likes you back... you should be happy that you have found that. not everyone will approve of any relationship you ever have... and if you listened to other people, you will be single for the rest of your life. don't be embarassed, follow your heart and do what you feel is right. you like the guy? go for it! unless he has hurt your friends or doesn't treat them right, then they have no good reason to tell you to forget about him... so don't!! :) let me know if you need more help and good luck!
okay, so i have curly and frizzy and not very shiny hair ..does anyone know a good product for straightening? something that can get it unfrizzed and straighten and make it shiny if possible? i need something that really works, please help! i will rate highh!
hey! i think you can use all the products in the world, but unless you have the right tools you won't get very far. i have wavy, thick, long and frizzy hair, and after years of experimenting i finally have it all down to a science. i usually use pantene smooth and sleek shampoo and conditioner, altho i do change shampoos every now and then. shampoo your hair and then condition and COMB your hair while the conditioner is in your hair to spread it evenly (apply it only to the bottom). after you wash it off, rinse your hair with COLD water to close the pores and keep shine in. let your hair air dry a little bit, comb it and spray a light leave in conditioner on it (i use aussie 2 in 1 leave in conditioner and heat protector)! then blow dry your hair using a round brush... just get it dry and as straight as possible. lastly, the most important thing is use the remington wet to straight hair straightener. i've had it for a year and a half and it's the best ever... you can also use it on wet hair but i never do. i use it on my hair after i blow dry it, and it gets rid of ALL excess moisture (which causes frizz) and makes my hair sooo straight and smooth. i would seriously die without it... haha. and it's only 30 bucks and you can find it anywhere... like wal mart, k mart and so on!! if you hate it, you can always return it, but i know you will love it! here is what some other people thought about it:
http://www.epinions.com/Remington_Wet_2_Straight/display_~reviews
learning how to use it is a piece of cake! let me know if you have any other questions! :)
alright so heres the deal. me and this guy used to go out. we went out like 6 times, and one time was almost for a year. He's always the one dumping ME, but somehow we end up back together again. Six months ago,he broke up with me so were not currently going out, but i still really like him, and i think he likes me again, too.Maybe he changed, but Im not sure if i should just keep giving him chances? but i really like him. Do you think its a good idea if we go out? Or should i just get over him? THANKS ALOT.
hey!! alright this is kind of a difficult question. i was once in a situation like that, and i kept breaking up with the guy because the relationship got pretty serious, and i got scared and decided i wanted to experience the single life before commiting to him. we broke up once, and then we kept talking and ended up getting back together (and then breaking up again) like 5 times. i would break up with him, and then decide that i wanted him back, but once i got him back i would want to be single again and so on. it's such a terrible situation but i was really confused and didn't know what i wanted. we eventually broke up and stopped talking for almost a year (9 months) and in that time i lived the single life. we just got back together and are trying to do it long distance because he is now in the army! :(
ok aaanyywaayy the reason i told that whole story is because it is difficult to tell why he wants to get back together with you. does he want to do it because he is actually ready to settle down for good now, or does he want to do it because no one better has come along in the time he was single and he wants to fill the void? if i was you, i would make him wait for it... tell him you need time to think about everything and stop talking to him and seeing him for the next 2 months. in that time, you should be able to see if you really want to be with him, and he should be able to decide what he wants as well. if he still wants to be with you, then he might have changed and he could be ready for the relationship. i think if you get back together with him right away every time he comes back to you, he will feel like he has all the power and he will break up with you whenever he wants, knowing that when he wants you back you will take him! that's bad and you don't want to make him feel that way... so make him wait. after that, if you feel like he is ready, then give him another chance, but be prepared to get hurt by him again. if you don't feel like you want to go through the pain of breaking up with him again, then don't give him another shot. it's all up to you.
you guys could be right for each other, but it could be that the timing is wrong. if things aren't working out now, you never know what could happen in the future if both of you still have feelings for one another. the point is, if he feels like he is not ready for a relationship yet, you won't be able to change him. he will have to stay single until he gets it all out of his system. otherwise, he will never be able to have a meaningful relationship, because he will never feel ready for it. so i say let him wait a little bit, and if you think he has changed and are willing to take the risk, then go for it. but if he hurts you again, deffinitely kick him to the curb and find a new guy! let me know if you need more help and good luck!! :)
What is a hydrocarbon molecule containing one triple covalent bond classified as? an alkene, alkane, alkyl, or alkyne?
and how many carbon atoms are in 2,3,3-trimethyl-pentane?
hey! ok well this is bringing me back to last year and organic chemistry... here we go:
a hydrocarbon molecule is basically a carbon chain with hydrogens attached to it. alkanes contain ALL single bonds connecting the carbons, alkenes have at least one double bond, and alkynes are the ones that the question asks you for... a carbon chain containing at least one triple bond!
second question, a methyl group attached to a chain means CH3. tri means 3... so a trimethyl is telling you that there are 3 methyls - that is 3 carbons. pentane means 5 single bonded carbons attached in a chain. so in the entire molecule in the question, there are a total of 8 carbons! pentane is the main chain containing 5 carbons, and there is one methyl group on carbon number 2 and 2 methyl groups on carbon number 3.
let me know if you need more help! :)
