wet underarms

Question Posted Tuesday June 6 2006, 3:11 am

I use Ban brand deodorant, which is supposed to be a good quality brand Im told, but I still sweat under there. I put it on once in the morning, but it wont work all day. I was wondering if there is a "magical" deodorant that stays on all day and works great. I also dance, so I need one thats strong. I cant seem to find the deodorant that is right for me. Maybe there are some other ways to stop the sweating. Thanks for the help!

hey!! ok i've tried like every kind of deodorant/antiperspirant out there, and NOTHING has worked as well as Mitchum!! it's cheap, it smells good, and it doesn't leave ANY marks on your clothes whatsoever. it also lasts for soo long... like it says on the deodorant, it's "so effective, you can skip a day!" i use the gel, but they also have a solid form... deffinitely try it out, because it's great! if that doesn't work for you, then go to the doctor and get a prescription for a stronger deodorant than what is sold over the counter! :)

I had the same problem! I'm a dancer, too so I feel your pain. One day I was complaining to my mom and then she gave me this deoderant that works amazing! You can strongly smell it at first but then as the day goes on you won't be able to smeel the deodorant or ur sweaty pits. There's no way to stop the sweating. Anyway, sweating is good for you. It's Dove soft floral deoderant. hope it helps!

A deodorant will not stop you sweating- it's just designed to make it smell better when you do! Make sure you look for "Anti-perspirant" on the bottle- they're the things that keep you dry.

If over the counter products don't work go and see your doc who should be able to give you some stronger stuff. But if you're dancing properly then you're going to sweat pretty much no matter what and it's expected- it's just your bodies way of cooling down and if you blocked it with cosmetic injections and so on you could very quickly dehydrate and over-heat, not a good move. Just take a towel, spray and water with you for afterwards. If other people in your class aren't swetaing then frankly they need to shape up and put some more effort in!x

There are actually prescription deodorant/antiperspirants that you can get from your doctor, but there is something you should consider first.

The thing that makes antiperspirants work is different kinds of aluminum. Now, doctors suspect that exposing yourself to a lot of aluminum may cause Alzheimer's disease because they've found aluminum deposits in the brains of its victims. Alzheimer's is a particularly sad and scary disease that causes you to forget things; first the little things--like where you put your keys or what you were just talking about, and it gets worse and worse until you forget how to swallow and breathe.

You should remember that sweating is natural, no matter what commercials and magazines might tell you, and that it's your body's way of controlling temperature. If you work and dance hard you deserve to sweat! If you're particularly stinky you can just get an all-natural deodorant that will mask the smell until you can go take a shower.

Take care of yourself and keep on dancing!

Try the scented Secret or Degree deordorants. The green apple and watermelon ones make your smell like bublegum if you sweat. Try using the body spray that go with them (vanilla is my favorite).
