I just got braces three days ago [I had them before when I was in second grade] However, I'm in intense pain! I can't eat anything, even soft foods like soft taco's hurt like crazy, and pasta! I'm on Tylenol, I ice my mouth several times a day, I use the bite plate they gave me, and I put on Orajel. But it still hurts so bad, What should I do?
I'd take mortin or something. Honestly though, you'll get used to the braces.They'll hurt at first but after a while you won't feel them. If they're strating to cut into the sides of your mouth though, I'd for sure use the hard wax they gave you. (I hope they gave it to you) I'd at foods like mashed potatos, ice cream, and smoothies. I'd also drink hot tea.
I have $300 dollars to shop with and out of these stores, I need the best 5 for me and my budget. If it helps Im 13, black, 5'5, my chest is 36C, medium waistline, thick hips. Abercrombie & Fitch, Aéropostale,American Eagle Outfitters,Ann Taylor, Arden B., bebe, Express, Forever 21, Gap, GUESS, H&M, Limited, PacSun, Victoria's Secret,Hecht's/Macy's,JCPenney,Sears, and Xcape.
ok. Here's what I have to say about each store:
+Abercrombie and Fitch isn't cheap. Clothes around 20- 40+ But since you have $300, you could probably get some stuff there.
+Aeropostale is a nice store. It's around the same prince as a and f but maybe slightly cheaper. They also have a lot of sales!
+American Eagle is one of my favorite stores! But it's not cheap. They have a very cute, preppy look. BUt once again, it's not cheap at all.
+I've honstly never shopped at Ann Taylor, Arden B, Bebe, or Xcape. I'm sorry I couldn't be better help with those stores.
+Express has "interesting" clothes. But it's not cheap there either. I really like their jewerly, but not their clothes so much.
+Forever 21 is another one of my favorite stores. They have very, very cute clothes that are very cheap.
+Gap is an ok store. They have fair prices and their clothes are ok. I'm not too into that store.
+Guess is expensive. But their clothes are adorable.
+ H&M is a great store. They have clothes that are really cute, But some of their clothes are kind of weird. When I went to H&M in Chicago, I loved their clothes and they were at a nice price. But when I went in New York, I thought their clothes were really strange. I'm not too sure about the price range there.
+The Limited is a store for older women. I don't think you'd find anything you'd like there.
+PacSun is a cool store. They have a nice look there and their clothes aren't too expensive.
+I LOVE VICTORIA'S SECRET!! They sell so many good bras and underwear, and they have a great pink line which makes clothes. But that store is kind of expensive.
+Macy's is an ok store. Their clothes are pretty cool but I'm sure about price range.
+JCPenny has fair prices and their clothes are semi-cute.
+I wouldn't shop at SEARS. I don't really like their clothes.
For my top 5 choices, I'd pick
1. Forever 21

3. Abercrombie and Fitch
4. Victoria's Secret
5. Aeropostale

I wouldn't worry too much about price ranges. $300 is more than enough to go shopping with.

I am going on vacation for a week and my neighbor has offered to water my garden and vegetables while we are gone. She is an older lady, not elderly but older. She lives next door, but we have a lot of land so it will be a hassle for her to come over and get out the hose, then roll it up again...but she offered and I need the help so I accepted.
My question is, I want to do something nice for her in return but I don't know what. I was thinking maybe a gift card to a grocery store or Wal Mart, but how much $$ is appropriate? Thanks for your advice!
I'd suggest around $50. I'd also bake her something and maybe even take her out to dinner. Show her that you rally appreciate it! Hope this helps!

well my boyfriend broke up with me this saturday and i was actually not too upset, i felt a little heartbroken but thats it. when he broke up with me he told me to see other people and that i should try to get another boyfriend by the end of the week. well, i didnt want to really do either of them but then i decided i sort of wanted revenge so i hooked up with kid i knew from school, we've talked a little before but not too much, we snuck out and met halfway and then we talked for a long time which led into messsing around. at the end of it i found out he was the best friend of the kid who likes me and wants to ask me out, so im screwed. i dont know what to do, my ex hates me know because he found out what i did.
Why would your ex be mad? Wasn't he the one who told you to see other people?! So the kid you hooked up with is the best friend of the kid who likes you. Do you like the kid back? Do you like the kid who you hooked up with? I would just see which one you like better or date neither of them. Hope this helps!

I honestly doubt they'll kill eachother. But I think you should talk to both of them seperatley. Tell your boyfriend that you'll stay with him and you love him. And about your relative liking you...that's gross. And it's illegal to do stuff with people who are related to you. I'd tell him that since you two are related, you don't see him in a boyfriend way and you're already with someone. I'd also tell them to NOT FIGHT because I'm pretty sure fighting wouldn't win your heart. (It sure wouldn't win mine) Best of luck!

I am 15 years old and so is my boyfriend. There is this girl that he talks to that has been his friend for years. They both say that they are brother and sister type friends. I believe them but I have really big jealousy issues. This girl is skinnier than I, and prettier. I recently got into a fight with my boyfriend because when he went to his friends house she showed up. I ignored his calls and everything. Well, this girl Instant Messaged me asking me if he could go to San Francisco with her tomorrow to hang out with her and her mother because it is her birthday and she has no one else to go with and doesn't want to go alone. I want to feel sad and just cry thinking about. But they're just friends, right? Should I just let him go and face my jealousy and see if it helps me get over it? Or should I put my foot down and object of the whole thing?
I'd deal with it. Trust me, if they've been friends for years, they don't see eachother any other way. I understand that you can be jealous, but take my word for it: they're only friends. My best friend is a guy and we've been best friends pretty much our whole lives. HIs crushes get completely jealous of me because we're so close. But any affection between the two of us would make us puke. So, I'm pretty sure they're only friends.

ok... so well i am 14 very soon to be 15 and well i started my period when i was 12 and well things were ok and all it was going normal and such but last yr around Nov. it stopped and i have it a month for like 2 or 3 dayz then it stops and then i don't have it for 3 months ok well like thin year jan. it was at the beginning of the month lasted 5 days then in feb. i had it at the beginning and the end of the month and in mar. i had it in the middle of the month from the 19-23 then i didn't have it in April or May and in june i had it 2 days 26 and the 27th now it's july 19 and i still haven't had it so what the fuck is wrong with me and i'm not pregnant i haven't had sex so should i get on birth control to make me normal again or not??? please help and my mom knows about this but she just tells me it's a blessing i'm worried i wanna do stuff with guys but i'm scared because i haven't had my period in like ever so please help
I wouldn't worry. Actually, the same thing is happening to me, so when I went to the doctor's for a check-up she told me not to worry. She said the periods are hardly regular and most people have irregular periods. But if you're still worried I'd see a doctor about it.
Me and my boyfriend lets call him Tom have been together for about a week. We really have a good connection. I have hugged him once. I'm an 18 year old female, living on the East Coast. My friend Jake is 22, living in Oregon. He is suicidal. Is there anything I can do to help?
I've known him for about 4 years. He has been suicidal since he was 10, apparently - that's 12 whole years of "depression". He just came back from the Jop Corps last week for his summer vacation, so yesterday was my first time speaking to him in 10 months. ALLL he would talk about is getting his hands on some tough drugs and then going to the "train tracks", if you know what I mean.
How do I help him? His complaints are pretty much the usual stuff. His family hates him, no one loves him, he doesn't have a girlfriend and now that he is 22 he will never have kids. For years, I've been trying to help him, trying to comfort him, trying to make points where I feel I can. But oh no, nothing works, because.... "no one loves me". When he says that, it actually insults me. What, have four years of my time meant nothing to him? Isn't there only so much a person can do?
I almost blame myself for not being able to help him. I can not contact his friends or family, because I have zero connection to them. He doesn't live with his parents, so there's no address I can find. He only has a cell phone, so that says that. And I don't even know his parents names, or friends, for that matter. I have zero way to get him help.
I know this isn't about me, but I'm losing my patience here. He is seriously stressing me out. I try and try and try, but I am never good enough. What, does he like being this way, or something? Could he secretly enjoy his lifestyle? Could I have a major attention whore on my hands, rather than a suicidal man?
He is also compulsive liar, which doesn't help anything. I'm thinking his other friends (the ones he doesn't have, according to him), probably assume that if he hasn't done away with himself in 12 years, he will never have the guts. That may be true, but I am not willing to write something like a death threat off, I'm sorry... because I know there is always a breaking point.
I consulted a few of my friends, and of course I heard the same thing every time, "Why do you bother talking to him? Oh, I wouldn't talk to him. Screw that guy."
Only, I know that wouldn't contribute anything to his well-being. Right?
I guess what I'm trying to ask is, at what point should I disconcern myself, if ever? And what more can I do to help him? Trying to help somebody who doesn't want to help themselves, is usually a failure before the process even commences...
You know, he sounds really selfish. You're doing all you can for him and he's being a jerk in return. ANd it's definitly not too late for him to have kids. My mom got married at 22. My dad was 24. They had me when my mom was 34 or something. But he definitly can't have children if he's going to be self-absorbed and not aware of how his friends are trying to help him. Has he made any attempts yet? Or is it all talk? I'd sit down with him and say, I'm trying to help you but you're not appreciating it and you're treating me like crap. But say it very gently. If he's not going to appreciate you and cherish you as a friend, then you're wasting your time. Don't just pull of all times with him at once. If you're sick of him, slowly drift away from him. This is a really tough situation and it sounds like you're doing the right thing by helping him. (But if it still goes unappreciated, then say something) Good luck and I seriously hope everything turns out for the best.

no. Do you realize what you'd be waiting for? A guy to dump his girlfriend. I don't think it's a good idea to be waiting for a guy to dump his girlfriend. Who says he wouldn't promise another girl he'd date her when you two went out? Trust me, there's plenty of fish in the sea!
So what's the deal with diet coke? It's zero calories and no fat, and only 1% sodium of the daily amount. Other than the caffiene, is there something else in it that's not good for you?
Well, it's pop. Pop is just not good for in general. I've never really seen anything that's bad for you other than the caffiene. But in my opinion, it tastes terrible. YOu know, try 7-up, it's all natural and no caffiene!
Okay, so i don't have any friends. frankly alot of people don't like me because of all the drama that went on last year in 8th grade. Going into high school is a new experiece, a new start. It's said that you get out of touch with the majority of the kids you were friends with in middle school once you go to high school. I have a couple suggestions for if they tease you:
1. Tell someone! If you don't feel right telling the principal or a teacher, tell your 4 friends. I'm sure they'll be willing to protect you and help you.
2. Don't pay attention to them. I know it's hard not to, but if you just don't answer to them, don't even look at them , they'll soon get tired of bullying you. People bully other people because they want to see their reaction. BUt if you don't give them a reaction, they'll get bored of it.
You know, in high school, people usually mellow out and don't care as much. I have a friend who in middle school, tried to please everyone and be friends with everybody, since high school, he's completely mellowed out and has a great group of friends while everyone else pretty much leaves him alone. Good luck with all of this and remember: high school is the best years of your life!

I'm a dark brunette as well and blonde would definitly NOT work for me. If you do dye your hair blonde, you might have to dye your eyebrows as well. But going from dark brunette to blonde is a drastic change. My suggestion would be to go a natural blonde color. Maybe dark blonde or strawberry blonde. No platinum blonde, that looks cheesy and unnatural. But profesionally done is the way to go. I don't think swimming will ruin it. But remember: blonde hair in chlorine makes the hair temporarily turn green. (if you're in there for too long) Good luck with your dye job! Hope this helps!

well you see there is this guy...and its one of my cousins good friends. they're a year younger than me but who cares. anyways i kinda started to like my cousins friend (kevin) and we always flirted like him grabing me..wrestling..just anything. and then yesterday me and my other cousin came back to her house afer being out and then she had to just do something quick and we were gonna go back to my house. well we see kevin and my cousin hanging out and my cousin is like where are you going? and we're like back to my house.and then kevin comes over and just sits in the backseat of my car and they want to go back to my house for a little bit. so we did and then when we were coming back kevin always wants "shotgun" :D i dont mind at all haha. but he is just so cute and he was like singing these love songs it was adorable the only problem is he has a ..GIRLFRIEND. yeah but then when we both got home we were talking on the computer on AIM and hes we had like the longest conversation and how we said we are best friends haha and im like are you scared to drive with me? because some people say im a crazy driver and hes like no why do you think i would sit in the front..i trust my best friend. i was like aww
I think he likes you. But I wouldn't do anything about it yet. Just keep on flirting and doing what you have been doing, in time they'll break up and you can act on your emotions! Btw, I think the stuff he says to you is uber cute.

Maybe you could have them dress as their favorite celebs. Maybe it could even turn into a costume contest where the person who looks most like the celeb they're trying to be wins something. You could also just have them dress nice as if they're going down the red carpet. Have a fun sweet 16! Hope this helps!
