Diet Coke So what's the deal with diet coke? It's zero calories and no fat, and only 1% sodium of the daily amount. Other than the caffiene, is there something else in it that's not good for you?

Diet coke and any other soft drink have no nutritional value at all. They all dehydrate you, too. Another thing is, diet drinks have less sugar than regular but they have more acid. So basically, diet is no better than regular. Hope I helped =] ]
It has not fat but it does contain some sugar, additives and sugar-free replacements. Basically, it contains a lot of chemicals that nobody should put into your body. Tests have also been done which prove there really isn't much difference between Coke and Diet Coke. ]
Well, it's pop. Pop is just not good for in general. I've never really seen anything that's bad for you other than the caffiene. But in my opinion, it tastes terrible. YOu know, try 7-up, it's all natural and no caffiene! ]
because there is no sugar, they use sugar substitutes. the sugar substitutes are actually just as harmful to your body, however. splenda, aspartame, and something else that i can't remember... anyway, it's not very good for you. ]
High Fructose corn syrup - usually in a lot of foods and it's considered to be one of the "secret fattening" ingredients. Same ingredient that's in juice, soda, and candy. ]
Diet pop is bad for you it makes you gain weight!! ]
It has either aspartame, sacharine, or Splenda.
It has been proven that aspartame can cause cancer, sacharine can cause tumors, and Splenda actually makes you more hungry, which causes you to gain weight. You'd be better off with flavored mineral water or all natural sparkling fruit juice. ]
Let's break it down. Diet Coke is a drink that is artificial and is not an animal byproduct such as milk...so it makes sense that soda would have no fat. People worry way too much about sodium without knowing that the RDA is between 1,100 and 2,400 mgs. Besides only models and bodybuilders trying to drop water at a bodyfat level of about 6% have to worry about sodium. What's so bad about caffeine? Nothing wrong with a cup or two of coffee every morning so that shouldn't be a factor. What comes into play is the sweeteners which make it taste the way it does since it cannot be real sugar, but a sugar substitute such as aspartamae.
The bottom line-
Doesn't matter whether it's zero calorie, 1 calorie or regular soda- it wreaks havoc on our system and is counterproductive to whatever goals we may want to achieve. Stick to water mainly and milk for the extra good fats and protein. If you absolutely must have something sweet- stick with unsweetened iced tea. ]
It was only today I was reading about the sweeteners in Diet Coke. They bloat your stomach. So people who are on diets that drink diet coke really aren't doing themselves any justice! ]
