Q: I babysit every Sunday for 3 kids. 2 girls ages 5 and 7, and one boy who is 9. I bring coloring books and board games, but after a while we just run out of stuff to do!!! These kids get bored easily, and everything I own that they would like, they have used. After a while, I become bored and very tired, and so every week i am reluctant to go. What should I do, and quitting is NOT an option!

If the kid's parents let you, take them out to see a movie. Or you could bring some kid movies. Play some outside sports if it's nice. If the kids have a dog, take it for a walk.
If your mother has some old make-up, I babysat some kids who got a kick out of giving me a make-over. Sure, they didn't do a good job, but they had fun with it. That's what matters.
Another fun thing to do, is maybe bring some ingredients and bake cookies with the kids. I don't really know what the kids are into, and it's much harder since you said you're babysitting a boy as well.
If the kids have a computer, bring some games you have lying around for them.
Play hide and seek. I used to be able to play that for hours when I was a kid. Play tag. I'm not sure... like, if you had a game you played with friends at recess when you were a kid, that's a really good idea. It's also fun to make a board game with the kids. They might enjoy that too.
I hope I could provide some help, and good luck!

Q: Okay, I have acne. It's not all that bad most of the time, but there's times like now where it gets really red. I've tried dozens of concealers and foundations to cover it up but none work all that good. So, does anyone know a concealer or foundation I can buy that covers up my acne good? I'll greatly appreciate it. Thanks!

The problem could actually be the foundation/concealer. A lot of them have an ingredient that activates acne! They do this so you will buy more. I never use foundation and I rarely ever have a pimple. If you absolutely need one, I recommend Neutrogena because they're a skincare brand. I would never recommend covergirl. Whenever my sister uses that, she gets bad acne.
I'll use the money you plan on buying concealer with to buy some acne care products. Try and find something with microbeads, or an exfoliator.

Q: Hey. Today is my friend's b-day. He's turning 16, and we've been friends for about 12 or so years. (yeah, it's a lot lol) Well, I kind of don't know what to get him. I'm not sure what he likes. My friend and I have this suggestion. There is a pic of me and him when we were about 4, and since I have doubles, we were thinking about getting a nice picture frame to put it in. Is that a good idea? I'm pretty sure he's the kind of type who would think it's cute. He's kind of a ladies man lol. Do you have any other suggestions? Thanks.

I think the picture is a good idea, but if you want to get him something else, the safest bet is to get a gift card. If you know where he likes to shop, pick up a gift card to go with that.
Also, if you've heard him mention a CD or game or a movie he wanted to buy, get him that. You could always ask him what he wants, as well. But I really like the picture idea. Sentimental gifts always hold more value to me, and a lot of people probably feel that way.
Maybe if you have doubles of a lot of old pictures, you can make some kind of poster/colleauge and frame it too. If you're a good writer, I think a poem or song about how much you value your friendship to him will be really good.
Hope I could help. Good luck. I hope you find the perfect present!

Q: is there a site where i can get free music and put it on a cd without downloading? because i only like certain songs from different bands so to buy the cd would be a waste so if you could help me out.. i would greatly appreciate it

This is the closest thing I can think of. Limewire requires downloading a program. This site you just have to type in the artist name and you can get the music. They have most artists, but there are a few they don't have. Probably because of legal reasons or something.

Q: Here’s the thing I’ve never been kissed (15/f), but there’s a guy I like so if I get a chance to kiss him I want to really impress him. And I don’t really even know the basics. I know many people say it’s good to just “go with the flow” and that it will happen naturally, but I’ve also heard many people talking about their first kiss and how bad it was and everything and how the other person didn’t like it at all. And I know it will really mater to him, because he is really hot (can get any girl he wants, but is not a player) and is a perfectionist, so if it goes wrong I will make a really bad impression and might never get a second chance. Plus he is two years older so I suppose he’s had a lot of experience. I really need someone to walk me trough everything. I am going for something that includes a French kiss, a kiss that he will remember in a good way that will sweep him off his feet.

My first kiss was really bad, because the guy ended up biting me! It's funny now that I look back on it, but neither of us really knew how to kiss, so it was weird. I don't think this is the normal definition of "bad", but I think everyone says it's bad just to be cliche, but mine seriously was because my lip got bit! It doesn't have to be bad.
The first time two people kiss, it's not going to be perfect. It'll be exciting though. But because the two have never kissed, you need to explore and find out what the other person likes. Good luck. I'm leaving you with a link that I went to when I was 12 and worried because I was going on my first date with a crush and didn't know what to do if he kissed me, considering I was bit the only time I was kissed before. I found that it helped me out, and I hope it will help you!

Q: eek! haha, sorry for the weird title.
My butt, is practically gone. I've lost alot of weight, yay for me! but my butt has gone with all my weight.
I don't want my butt back because ''guys like big butts'' I want it back because it's soo bony now and I can't find any good jeans and it's uncomfortable to sit on hard chairs because of the bones, this sounds weird I know but seriously.
Does anyone know any excersizes to get a bigger butt without putting weight on?

I went though the same thing. I lost a lot of weight recently and I know exactly what you're talking about. It's hard to find jeans that fit right and fit in the butt area, and you need to sit on a pillow or sweatshirt or something at all times!
I haven't gained weight, but I've been exercising to get some toning so I'm not just skinny and with the building muscle in my butt, I find it's becoming more comfortable to sit down.
Also, you may gain weight from exercising, but you'll be smaller. Muscle weighs more than fat. In a few months if you go up a pound from exercising your butt, that just means it's working. Unless you know you gained weight from clothing, but muscle weight comes on slowly.
Anyway, I think the best exercise for butts is to stand up and sit down without a chair, then repeat. It helps your thighs too. Also, putting small objects on the floor, and picking them up one at a time while lifting one leg up and switching sides each time I go down is working.
This is getting kind of long, so I'll leave you with a link to some exercises. If you need more, I have several magazines and if you need more, stop by my advice column, I'll share some more exercises from my Shape magazines and from my million exercise DVDs that I like a lot.

Q: Ok. Just yesterday I got my driving permit, and I'm a little nervous about driving on the bigger roads. Afraid I'm going to forget to look for signs, miss turns, etc. Anyone got any ways I can just chill and do everything I've learned without /over/doing it? Or maybe I should just start small for awhile, drive around in college lots or my own neighbourhood?

First of all, congratulations on getting your permit! I'm working to get mine, but due to ADD, it's a little hard for me to pay attention to my permit book. That's a big accomplisment. Out of all honesty, I'd rather sit next to a nervous driver than a relaxed driver.
Nervous drivers are more careful. Carefree drivers are more likely to do something stupid. But, you don't want to be too uptight or nervous. No one needs a panic attack behind the wheel, right?
I would agree to drive around in familiar places. Don't go on the highway just yet, steer clear of tougher or more dangerous roads until you're ready. Start out slow. Maybe you can hire someone to go driving with you until you're more relaxed behind the wheel. Or take someone more experienced.
If you can find any wooded roads nearby, that's a great place to practice! There are practically no cars there, and when there are cars, they almost always belong to someone who lives there. Trust me, I live in the woods.
Hope I could help. Feel free to stop by my advice column if need anything else, I'll do my best to help you!

Q: ok, im caught between to guys & im currently with one of them. theyre friends-not too close but i feel like im kinda comming between them.
the first guy, my bf...well we have some communication issues. meaning we rarely talk & when we do its not for very long. its our first relationship, were both shy at times & he doesnt get out much (unlike me) he hasnt kissed me ever or gone on a date with me in a long time.
the second guy...i got him together with his ex.(she dumped him b/c she was into girls.) we take martial arts together & were together alot then he said he likes me. we talk online all the time even if he said he likes me b/c honestly, im attracted. i cant really say i am b/c im with his friend. he says a lot of sweet things too and since i have doubts about the 1st guy, i cant help but take it in positavly.
well yesterday he told me he wanted to kiss me after we talked for a really long time. its really weird cuz neither one of us agrees with cheating but for some reason, its almost impossible to avoid.
please help me! i dont wanna do anything stupid! thanks!

Explain to your boyfriend that you see him more as a friend than a boyfriend. Tell him why you're not happy with them, like you told us. I think it would be a good idea to tell him about your feelings about your other friend, because it sounds he likes you a lot and you'd be happier with him. You should tell him about this other guy because it may be akward if you too end up together soon after the break-up and your current boyfriend may be more comfortable if he knows beforehand.
Good luck. I hope I was able to help.

I think the best policy is to be friends. A lot of times an opposite gender friendship turns into more. Also, just let him see the real you and let your personality show. If he's talking to you through notes, there's a chance he has some interest in you and probably already likes you as a person and at the least, considers you interesting and would like to be friends.
When the time is right, be honest about your feelings. Good luck! I hope I was able to help, and if you need anything else, stop by my advice column. I'll try to help the best I can.

To learn about HTML, go to lissaexplains.com. This is a wonderful site to teach you about HTML. Certain sites like geocities.com have pre-made templates if you don't want to mess with HTML.
For a free website, the following places are a good place to make one:
www.angelfire.com
www.tripod.com
www.bravenet.com
www.freewebs.com
www.geocities.com
And if you don't like any of these places, you can try www.google.com to search for more.

Q: Hi in my opinion i look nice the way i am...but the thing is that my arm has like a flub there and i just want to get rid of it. what can i do to get rid of the flub? any exercises for my arms? it's on my upper arm and it's just disgusting! please help!
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
Well, the "flub" on your arm is probably due to excess fat. If you've lost weight recently, it could also be excess skin which will shrink over time. To start, you can try cardio such as walking or running, and a little cutting calories. There is no possible way to just get rid of a little fat in one area, although you can tone that area, the flub may still be there without a little fat-burning exercise and I reccomend, walking, jogging, running, or whatnot as the cheapest and also most effective exercise for that.
I have some exercises from a Shape magazine that are really toning me up better for summer and pretty quickly too that I will share with you.
Two way shoulder raise:
Stand with feet hip-width apart, legs straight but not locked. Hold dumbells (you can use soup cans if no weights are available) in hands, arms hanging my sides, elbows in a soft arch, palms facing in, abs contracted. Lift arms up and out to shoulder height. Lower then lift arms forward and up to shoulder height, turn palms up, elbows bent slightly. Lower, palms turning in, and repeat combo. Do maybe 10 or more sets.
Bi-tri combo:
Sit on edge of a chair, feet seperated wider than hip-width, knees bent. Holding weights/soupcans in left hand, rest back of upper arm against inside of thigh, arm straight. Bend left elbow, bring dumbell up and in toward shoulder. Lower and repeat for reps. Next, lift arm overhead, supporting back of left upper arm with right hand. Bend elbow to lower dumbbell behind left shoulder. Straighten arm upward and repeat for reps. Switch arms to complete 1 set.
Tri-dip:
Sit with hips on edge of a bench or chair, knees bent, feet flat. Place hands on edge of chair, fingers facing forward, arms straight. Lift hips off edge, back straight, abs contracted. Bend elbows, lowering hips toward ground, squeezsing elbows toward each other and stopping before you feel a strain in shoulders. Straighten arms and repeat. Adding a little weight to your lap provides an extra burn.
You can also try push ups. You can do push-ups on your knees or against a door if your arms are not strong enough to do regular push-ups. Also, most people have a little flabby bit on their arm. I've even noticed that Paris Hilton does when she waves. It's normal to have it a little bit.
Good luck! I hope I was able to help.

Q: hey all this question is for everyone so you're all welcome to answer it my mom tells me to let my nails grow but i have this bad habit of biting them do you know of any i could stop biting my nails i'll rate high for good and reasonable answers.

There are several solutions to this:
- Paint your nails. Or rub nail polish remover on them, or spray something on them so they taste awful.
- Get fake nails. Acrylics are good, most people don't want to bite in them.
- There are several products out there that are used to help people stop biting their nails. Go to a drugstore and ask if they have anything.
- The most expensive answer, is hypnosis. I know a few people who have tried it for quitting smoking and they swear it works. It may be a weird last resort. I'm not sure how much it costs though, but I'd assume more than the other ideas.
Good luck!

The most appropriate thing is a sincere "I'm sorry".
Also, here's a little advice I have. People always say "If you need to talk, let me know" or something like that when a family/friend dies.
I think it's a better gesture to tell the person you're there for them, and ask if they'd like to do something to get their mind off it. Make plans with the person. It's better than offering than to be there and not following through, and it's more comforting to the mourner.

Q: Five minutes ago, I was trying to talk to my aunt and all of a sudden, my mom bursts in our convo and starts yelling at me asking "Why didn't you ask me!??!" "Don't talk to me like that!" She didn't give me a chance to talk so she kept yelling and so I yelled back and then she blamed me for things I didn't do! She totally humiliated me infront of my aunt! This always happens! What do I do to prevent this..and What can I do about the situation now? If you tell me to say sorry to my stupid-ass mom, I'll give you a 1. I don't think you're wrong here. Your mother had no right to interrupt you. The only way to deal with the situation is to talk to your mother. Things will never be fixed until it's discussed and a solution is come up with. I find it to be a good idea to compromise and make a contract.
What your mother did was rude, and she owes you an apology. I'm not really sure what the conditions of your situation are, but from your post it sounds like your mother is at fault. Good luck with everything. If I helped you and you have anymore questions feel free to stop by my advice column!

I wouldn't jump to any conclusions, but if the guy is this unsure, you probably should give up. Sometimes you need to question a guy's motives, and now is the time. Ask around, find out what he is up to, ask him, ask mutual friends.
Try and compromise with him. Tell him that you don't mind if he spends time with friends, because you'd like more time with yours too, but explain to him that you care about him if you do, and let him know you don't want to end it yet, unless it's what he really wants. If he continues this, tell him to let you know when he grows up. No one deserves a boyfriend who can't make up his mind.
Good luck, and let me know if there's anything I can do to help!

Q: Today this girl that I really don't like, but hang out with anyways, asked to see a note that my best friend had wrote me, that said stuff about her in it. ALOT of stuff. I said no because it was mine and she had no right seeing it, she took my purse dumped it out on the floor but I hid it in my desk, and then she randomly got into my desk and found it, I didn't want her to see it, and now I'm afraid my best friend's going to be mad at me, but I'm not sure because I really didn't do anything wrong, right?

Q: ok well, i live in PA, and i was in new jeresy at six flags today. Anyway well i was on medusa and this kid kept staring at me while we were waiting in line. Then when we got off, my friend went the other way and i felt really sick. So i went over to a tree and dropped my stuffed animal i bought and started throwing up. So he came over even though i didnt know him and put his hand on my back and he was help my hair back and picked up my animal..and then when i was done i looked up at him and he was smiling at me. I said sorry, but its like, it's okay come here, and he took me over to where him and his friends were standing, and he sent his friend to go buy me something to settle my stomach.. then after thati left and eventually i was in line for nitro and him and his friends were like 5 people behind me and he came up and put his hand on my shoulder and he was like, are you gonna be able to handle this one? Then when we got off i was walking down the stairs and i was like stumbling and hes like, you okay there drunky? and we started laughing, and then we split up again and then later we went on this ride that sends you over the lake, and i ended up getting broken away from the people i was with and i had to sit with him, and the sun was setting and it was so pretty. But then anyway, we were leaving, and i said bye, and i had left my phone with him because i was afraid i would drop it in the lake, and i opened it and i was flipping through the numbers, and it said tony with a heart next to it and his number. Just wondering, what does this mean?

He sounds sweet. I'd call him back, definately.
I once had a friend who had my name programmed into his phone with a heart next to it and when I would call he had set the song "Love Song" by the Cure to ring. We ended up dating for 6 months after I confronted him.
When a guy stares at you, I also find it means several things: He's attracted, he's making fun of you, you have something on your face/shirt/etc. Since this guy hung around, I would say he probably finds you attractive.
Good luck and if you need any extra help, feel free to check out my advice column.
