Hey, I'm Mara. I love dancing. It's practically my favourite thing to do. I love House, R&B, pretty much everything with a good beat, and Benny Benassi is my hero; that's why my column is a shrine to him. I graduated this year and am now in my first year of college where I'm trying to pick a major. Chances are you'll see some of my Psychology questions floating around somewhere here. I'm also extremely interested in Political Science too because I, like half the people living in Canada, somehow want to change the world. I particularly want to find a cure for poverty, corruption, cancer, AIDS and George Bush because honestly, I think those are the biggest problems we have right now. I have decided that maybe I should take the time to live a little before I start though because I have a good fifty years ahead of me to fix all the issues there are. Currently my life consists of: studying, working, socializing, eating and ocassionaly sleeping. I spent practically all of my high school life being a delinquent and partying to huge extents until I discovered my brain sometime in the middle of my senior year. I still like to have a good time every once in a while but you always need to find that balance (I haven't exactly found it yet but I'm getting close). Unfortunatley, a habit that has stuck with me from school is my obsessive gossiping. I just can't stop and you know, an article in Cosmo says that gossipers are healthier people because they bond over it? Who would have thought? Anyway, I do have my limitations and I don't condone nasty, brutal gossiping and I don't gossip about anything my friends have told me in confidence or something about someone else that they have slipped to me, however, if I find you in a washroom at a random party making out with my bestfriends's boyfriend, a few people are probably going to hear about it. Actually, more than a few people will hear about it because one of my absolute pet peeves is parties where the all the bathrooms are occupied due to sexual activity or... puking activity. Sooooo what else is there to know about me? My favourite thing in the world is shopping and my worst fear is existantialism. I am OCDey in a clinical way so you can ask me questions about that. You can ask me practically anything you want except for dumb questions but I'm not going to answer them in my little column here because it's a huge waste of space when I could be writing about myself (Click 'LookIt' on my menubar for answers to dumb questions so you don't have to embarass yourself asking them and getting bitched out from me). What I can do, is offer you three pieces of truly inspirational advice. Firstly, never live your life by what others want of you, cherish yourself and everyone around you, and never beat yourself down about anything you couldn't have avoided. Secondly, donate at least ten percent of the income you earn in your life to someone who needs it. Lastly, never get into a bulldozer when you're under the influence and start driving it towards a poor freshmen (I am never going to another kegger ever again... ever). Ok, I'll shut up now. You can start asking me stuff, if you haven't hit the back button already.

KSO I had a dream about this guy I like.
The guy that i'm i like with came over to my house and helped me babysit my siblings. But i've never even talked to him before and even at my house we still didn't talk. But we kept on looking at each other and smiling and just staring at each others eyes. Then we went to the living room and sat next to each other and watched the tv. Then I started playing the piano and he was watching me and I told him "im not very good at this so don't be surprised when it's bad." and he said "That's ok with me." But before i could even start to play my brother interupts me. Then before i start to play again my sister interupts me. When this is happening he starts laughing and smiling and so do I. Then after them 2 leave before i start to play again, he says to me "Well I better get going now..." He gets up and walks over to me and then gives me a big hug and whispers in my ear "I love you.. Maybe we should hang out more often and see where this is going because i dont want to stay just best friends with you." But we're not even best friends. So I say back, with tears in my eyes, "I love you too and dido." Then he gets up and starts walking to the door and i say "don't say that we're not gonna be just friends we're going to be boyfriend and girlfriend." and he just smiles and says alright and walks on out.
After that i felt verrry happy and in love, then extremely nervous and then i felt a strange tranquility wash over me.
I had a heart drawn on my hand and i just looked at it and smile and then my alarm went off and my dream ended.

alrighty so i dont like my eyebrows. i think they are to dark. how can i make them lighter? please helppp!!!
Do NOT use bleach on your face, especially your eyebrows. If it drops in your eyes, your eyes may be damaged heavily and blindness can occur.
Go to a salon and ask to get your eyebrows tinted, it doesn't cost too much.
Don't mess with them yourself, I'm serious. Getting your eyebrow/eyelashes tinted is something to be handled by a professional.

I'm female, and 18 years old.
My last period finished around the 30th March. A little over two weeks after that I became sexually active for the first time with my boyfriend - I'm still a virgin, but during that time we basically did everything bar actual sex (oral and 'hand jobs', both giving and recieving). We were careful - we made sure there was never any actual genital contact; most of the time at least one of us was wearing underwear, and on the couple of occasions that this was not the case, as I said, we made sure to keep a distance. Before we went to sleep, we definitely made sure that at least one of us was wearing underwear, to make sure there was no accidental contact when we slept.
My periods, annoyingly enough, have always been irregular, and it's actually pretty normal for me to go for a couple of months without actually having a period (sometimes I even experience PMS and cramps without actually having one until the next month, which can be particularly irritating)! So, normally I wouldn't be at all worried about the fact that I'm late, if it weren't for the aforementioned sexual activity. I haven't experienced any symptons of pregnancy, though I know that these vary from woman to woman, and I'd only be three or four weeks into it if I was anyway, but I am somewhat concerned.
My hymen is intact - is it even possible to get get pregnant if this is the case? (if only sex education were better in British schools, then I'm sure I'd know this..)

There is a 99% chance that you're not pregnant.
I would say give it another month, and if you are still late or start feeling ill in the morning, get a pregnancy test done.
If you're freaked out, you could get it done now.
Yes, it is possible to get pregnant even if your hymen is intact (are you sure it is, even? Many girls lose it during physical activities and don't even know it's not there anymore)
I would recommend you start on Birth Control anyway, even though you're not having intercourse, just to be safe. I used to have the same irregular period problem as you and Birth Control regulates them so you don't get any "surprises".
And I hope you both were tested before you started fooling around, STDs/STIs aren't always transferred from sex. Hepatitis can be acquired from drinks and herpes from toilet seats. Ick, I know.

Well chances are that you're not the only one on your team who feel the same way. Gather up a group of you and talk to a coach or another parent so you can talk to the dad in a diplomatic way. Tell him he needs to calm down or quit.
If he really is as unstable as he sounds, he isn't in the right mental state to coach your team.
Don't quit because of him. Make him quit.

Ok so I'm a girl of East Indian decent and I have dark dark brown hair with red chunky streaks (they've faded to a coppery red) and these look nice on me but they -totally- clash with my prom dress which is a dusty rose pink and I'm not willing to screw that up.
My friend is also Indian and she got like blonde streaks and it ended up looking really washed out.
I figured blonde is the only colour I can go with my dress because I def. want my highlights to stand out a bit but I don't want my colour looking beige.
Any suggestions on what colour I should do? If I get my hair dyed honey or something, the pigmentation might make it copper...?

My boyfriend and I go to different schools. Before we started going out, we started talking about 2 months ago. You and your friends should respect your boyfriend's decision. If he didn't have a date or if you had been going out for a long period of time and the deal between him and his friend had taken place a long time ago, it might have been acceptable to break it off and take you if he gave his friend some notice in advance.
Trust me, you're better off not going. If you had forced your boyfriend to take you, all of his other friends would probably have resented you for screwing up the other girl's prom.

You are one of millions of people in our generations who snack all the time. Usually, you don't even notice. You'll grab a bag of chips and munch while you're watching tv or be absent minded while you're picking at grapes.
The issue is exactly what you've said, boredom. This can be easily fixed, you just need to find something to do with your time. Try picking up a hobby instead of doing things that aren't interactive, such as watching the tele or listening to music.
If you find that you still have the need to eat and you fear calories, pick something lowfat or do what I do and keep light popcorn handy, they work like chips but don't cost your body half as much.
I recommend the first option though as this impulsive eating could be leading to a bigger issue which might be the fact that you spend too much time immobile.
If you find yourself binging when you're upset or depressed, seek medical help, as these might be signs of an eating disorder.

On your menu bar...
Tools > Internet Options > General > History > Clear History
Tools > Internet Options > General > Temporary Internet Files > Delete Cookies
Tools > Internet Options > General > Temporary Internet Files > Delete Files
Tools > Internet Options > Contend > Personal Information > Autocomplete > Clear Forms
The downside to this is that you'll delete your saved history setting for websites such as advicenators if you've chosen to stay logged in all the time but that's easy to fix. On the upside, your computer will be faster and there won't be ANY trace at all of you looking at porn.

I've been active in cardio and weight training (and a balanced diet) for awhile now to lose weight. I lost about 10lbs to begin with which was fantastic but now I'm at a lull.
I've been looking into supplements to aid in fat burning or energy (yes I will continue with exercise, etc) but I don't really know much about them or if any on the market actually help.
Can you suggest anything? And if so, please provide some type of information I can read up on myself. Thanks.

I won't tell you any of that "diet pills are evil" crap because I think everyone else will eventually anyway. I'll just give you my experiences.
I started Slimquick about two months ago. I lost my water weight and that's -it- so I have it up.
I've been on Zantrex 3 for about a month and lost a bunch of weight with no side effects but I had to give up caffeine (pop, coffee et cetera). Everyone takes different to Zantrex though. My friend started throwing up when she took them so she gave them up.
I would say go talk to your doctor. Don't believe what those GNC people tell you. Their job is to SELL you ANYTHING.
My friend tried TrimSpa and she said it sucked so there you have another no no.
Just be smart about stuff. I've been really desperate and who knows? Maybe I'll crash really hard but I'm losing weight for now.
