Pretty much everything by Death Cab for Cutie.
Especially:
"A Lack of Color"
"Company Calls Epilogue"
"Title and Registration"
and
"Dream Scream"
....
"My Immortal" by Evanescence is pretty freakin' sad too, if you like that sort of music.

Also, try "The District Sleeps Alone Tonight" by the Postal Service.
