Hey! First off, i'm going to start by saying I came here on this site to give people advice. Some people actually don't know the real meaning of advice. They think its the answers they want to hear. But i'm not here for that. I'll give you advice, and it might be something you don't want to hear. But deal with it! You may take my advice or not, its completely up to you and you are not gaurnteed a correct solution.Ok so now that's clear, I'll talk to you more about myself. Hence the username... I play volleyball. It is my passion and basically my life since I've played for about 7 years. Most of my friends say i'm 50/50 tomboy and girly girl. I LOVE sports!! I play volleyball all year round, and then I go to the park during free times to play some soccer, football, hockey, basketball or baseball with my friends. But then again, I could be inside trying on my new Sephora makeup i'd just gotten, or reading the latest Seventeen magazine or even arranging my clothes for school tomorrow.
You can ask me just about anything and i'll be happy to answer it. You can count on a full and detailed answer.
Oh and another thing... I love getting feedback! Even if its a negative comment. It tells me what I need to work on or even what I did correct.

BODY EXERCISES AND WORKOUTS! my way or the highway
advice
Im really sick with a cold today and I feel GROSS so I thought itd be lovely to take a bath. I want some ideas of ways to have a really, good relaxing bath. I also want to have my own spa for a day :] like nails, any ideas please? oh, and I would LOVE any homemade facial mask ideas! like with fruits. etc. thanks
Ok well, I am a person who stresses a lot and is tired a lot, so I tend to take baths too. Here are some tips-
- make the bath water warm/hot
- 3 or 4 candles that are scented
- a CD player with relaxing sounds (ocean waves, birds, rain and thunder etc.)
- have the lights partially off, or only have the candles used for lights
- sit in the bathtub, close you're eyes for 5 minutes.. then open them and you'll feel tired and relaxed.
- take a pillow and cover it with a towel and put it under you're head
- make bubbles in the bathtub
- take slow and deep breaths
Here are some spa ideas-
- for nails, file them and then paint them any color you want
- for face masks
Egg Yolk and Honey
I often use an egg yolk and honey mask. Just mix one egg yolk with a little honey and spread it on your face and neck. When it dries, rinse it off. Your skin will feel so fresh and soft!
- pedicure- put cream on you're feet, and then cut you're nails, then file them if you want to, and then paint them any color you want
I HOPE I HELPED!

PS: the other advicenator said this, but you can get rid of your cold by sweating it all out.
I know i have already talked on here about how my step mom picked out clothes for me at church. She won't let me where what i want to and she makes me where her grandmothers clothes. I already told her i didnt like it and she said that was the style and i should get used to it. Everytime i get excited about something, i always remember that i have to wear her grandma's clothes that i dont like and it makes me unhappy. I get really excited about something and then i think of that and it makes me sad. I know they are just clothes but 70% of your clothes is confidence and if you don't have that, you have 30% of something. I heard it on the radio, but anyways, any help would be greatly appriciated. thanks so much!
Hiya,
Ok so I think I know where you're going....
This same thing happend to me, except the whole grandma clothes part.
My mom used to pick out my clothes for school everyday... It was fine until about 5th grade where my friend brought up a conversation about how she picked out a really cute outfit that morning... I was all like, ohh my mom picks out my clothes for me and she starts laughing at me. I just ignored her and I told my mom what happened that day. My mom still continued to pick out my clothes, UNTIL....
and here's what you should do...
I told my mom I needed something at the mall, (lie- a book) and then I went with her, then when we were by a clothing store, that I liked, I would run in there and try to get my mom into that store too. Then I would find an outfit I liked and convince her to buy it. Like an agreement (if you buy this, i'll do more chores around the house, or If you let me buy this, i'll pay for it)
Then she bought the outfit for me and I begged my mom to let me wear it. I screamed, cried, kicked, begged, and finally she let me wear it.
If you don't like that... what you can also do is start off easy, and then work you're way up.
So if she picks out something, add some perfume, some jewlery, and maybe a hat or something.
then the next day, maybe wear a top of you're choice, and then her coat that she chose out. You know... and then one day just tell her "ok i'll put this on, can you leave the room for some privacy?" and then don't put it on and put on whatever you want, then just rush out the door and leave her.
IF NONE OF THIS STILL WORKS, CONFRONT HER ABOUT IT AND TELL HER YOU ARE ____ YEARS OLD AND THAT YOU DO NOT DESERVE TO WEAR HER GRANDMOTHER CLOTHES, YOU DESERVE INDEPENDENCE AND YOU'LL DO ANYTHING TO WEAR WHAT YOU WANT.
I hope I helped!!!!!

A few years ago my mother passed away. In her things left behind I found a letter. This letter stated that the man I knew as my father wasn't my father. After researching, I found that the man named in the letter as my father, has been deceased almost 20 years. The letter indicated a brother, The man did indeed leave behind a son when he passed. Leaving me with a whole new set of problems. The brother is famous.
I tried to absorb this imformation, I put the letter away. Thinking to myself, sure try to contact the man and have the whole world think you're crazy. As time went on it became a nagging thought in the back of my mind. I would see a film he was in and wonder, could he really be?
I reread the letter a thousand times. I visited my mother's grave, I screamed and cried. Still I did nothing. I'm an average person, housewife, and mother. I wasn't in his social league. He wouldn't give me the time of day. Again putting the letter away, setting aside thoughts of meeting him.
Some months later while doing some organizing, the letter again popped up. My husband told me to try. What's the worse that can happen? So I found the phone number to his production company, and tried to reach him. I was laughed at by his staff. I sent emails with no reply, and faxed a copy of the letter to his office; again no reply.
My request was simple and to the point. Would he at least consider the possibility and have a test done to prove or disprove the letter.
No reply. What exactly does no reply mean? Did his staff pass on the information? Do they think me a nut ? Does he even know of my attempts?
So now I'm left with more questions and at a loss on how to find the answers.
If anyone out there can supply the answers, I would be grateful.
Thank you for reading.
Ok,
now i'm not an expert at this, buuut I've seen in movies that when nothing else seems to work, they actually leave their home and actually try to find that person. Soo, I know this advice may be hopeless, and I don't care if you give me a 1... I just wanted to give you advice and try to make you feel better. You seem really sad and upset and I want you to know that i'm here for you, and I'm truly sorry. If nobody on this website can help you, and you think my advice is pointless, then try going to a phyciatrist (sp?) and ask them. If that doesn't work, again, i'm very very very sorry and I hope all goes well for you.
heart,

How can you tell if you like someone..
Well, if you are acting different around him/her.
So if you're with your friends and normally you are crazy and loud, and then when he/she is by you, you turn shy and quiet.
Or if you're sweating and nervous around him/her, you seem to gaze a lot at him/her, you talk a lot about him/her.
Trust me, you'll know... if you don't, just ask a friend to find these symptoms in you.

Has anyone read that book? I am having trouble understanding the main theme. If someone could sumarize it for me I would be eternally grateful. Mainly just explain the ending.
Thank You!
Here's what I found:
David Henry didn't have an easy childhood, growing up in the 1950s. His sister had a heart condition that made her sickly and eventually killed her. His family, already poor and struggling, fell apart. David wanted to make a difference in the world as well as getting out of poverty, so he worked his way through school to eventually become a doctor.
David is deeply in love, almost obsessed, with his wife. When she goes into labor on a snowy evening, he finds himself in a horrible situation--he, an orthopedic surgeon, will have to deliver the baby with only a single nurse to help. All goes smoothly, though, and he safely delivers a perfect baby boy. What he didn't expect, though, was the baby girl that followed. When he delivers her he recognizes the obvious signs of Down Syndrome, and he thinks about how his own sister's condition tragically affected his parents. In an effort to protect his wife from pain as this child grows older and possibly has severe health problems, he gives her to the nurse with instructions to put the baby in an institution, a common practice at the time. He tells his wife the baby died at birth.
What David didn't predict was his wife's continued preoccupation with the dead baby. She can't seem to forget her daughter, as he expected she would. Whenever she brings it up he feels guilty and angry, which ends up driving a wedge between the two of them. They can't solve the problems in their marriage because David can't tell her this secret which is the root of everything wrong with them. As their son grows up, things get worse and worse.
Meanwhile, the nurse present at the birth can't bear to put the little girl into an institution. Instead she moves to a new city and raises the child as her own, fighting to get her opportunities and experiences not readily available for a Down Syndrome child in the 1970s.
If you need more summerization (sp?) go to this website-

and scroll down, there are 295 reviews on this book and a lot of the reviews have a summerization.
Good luck!

Alright I weigh about 132 and I'm 5'2''.
Is that a good weight for me?
What's a good weight for me at my height?
Hmm... I think it's just a 'tad' bit too much weight. Try to lose about 5-8 pounds. Because I'm 5'5 and I weigh 125 pounds.
If you need more information go to this website
http://nhlbisupport.com/bmi/
and type in you're height and weight, then it tells you your BMI (body mass index) and then on the left of the website it says what your BMI represents (overweight, normal body weight, underweight)
got it?
Hope i helped!
-volleyball2150
PS: if you think you look fine the way you are, don't change yourself just to make other people like you. However, if you feel like you must lose a few pounds, dont go anorexic or bulimia (sp?)
you can lose weight by eating healthy foods such as fruits, vegetables, vitamins, minerals and by laying off the junk food. Exercise daily.
do you know how to build an astronomical (Keplerian) telescope with 2 converging lens?! this project is due tmrw, so plz answer ASAP!!!
Hun,
asking this question on this website was just a waste. You're really cheating on this, and if you cheat, you'll never learn anything. Why dont you try asking your teacher? Since it's due tomorrow, try going on your schools website, and look for your teachers email address and ask her. I'm sure she'll be glad to help.
If this doesn't work for you, try searching it on google, or on www.ehow.com
I hope I helped!

Does anyone have any good ideas on how to improve my German? Does anyone speak German on the site and could help me? Thanks!
Hey,
yeah i'm fluent in german... so you can look on my advice column, and send me some things you would like to know in german, and i'll help you pronunciate them and spell them etc.
Other than that, you can download rosetta courses. I think you have to pay for it, and it teaches you so many different languages, and german is one of them.

15/f. every year for Christmas my family goes crazy trying to think of good christmas presents for my grandparents. they are really hard to buy for, because if you ask them what they want they say that they don't need anything, but we have to get them something. and when we do come up with really good ideas they never even use the presents. so this year i was thinking of making them homemade presents so that they would mean more. but i have no clue what to make. any suggestions would really help! thanks
OOhh.. how about you search online for a good love poem, and then read the poem to them, then make a heart that says "i love you"
Or if you're a good writer, then create your own poem and say it to them.
You can also search online for good projects to do.
I hope I helped!

Track season starts really soon. It's almost November. Can someone give me some suggestions to help me stay motivated for track season. Last year I was running like a 13 something this year I want to run faster than that. Please help. ASAP
Hey,
I also do track! It rocks! What helps me is that I really really really want my parents to be proud of me, and also my friends. So I try really hard to win. Just like the other person said, eat spaghetti before the meet to burn off all of the carbs to provide engery. Get as much sleep as possible, and listen to your favorite song before you start running. Stretch before and after the meet so you don't get hurt. Run around your block to get some practice, or if it's too cold outside, go to your school's gym after school... or an activity center where you live. Bring along a friend, and ask him/her if you can race against them. Provide a reward for the winner, to motivate you even more!
I hope this helps, if not... go talk to your track coach and see what he/she can do.

hey im a tomboy and some girls are not at my school what do i do i dont want to change?
don't change!
Listen, if everybody was the same....
life wouldn't be exciting!!!!!
it would be sooo dull and boring, just watching and seeing the same people, day after day until you die!
Start something new, and be glad for who you are.

How do you do a messy bun?My hair's thin and i wanna know how to do them. Usually when you take them out your hair is wavy or sometimes curly. Does anyone know how to do one?
Actually, there is no exact way of doing this.... there's various ways... but heres the way I do it
1. put your hair in a bun... to do that you start making a ponytail, and just before you let go of your hair elastic, you leave a loop of hair... a bun!
2. here's the tricky part, no exact way of doing this... but you just play around with your hair until you are satisfied. make sure that your hair isn't smooth, it has to have hairs sticking out of it.
3. if you want, take bobby pins and pin down the access strands of hair... but in my opinion, the access strands of hair add a little "BAM" into the hairstyle.
follow those directions and you hair should look something similar to this:

How quickly does make-up expire? I have this make-up set that I had for maybe a year or two now. I just recently found it in my closet. It has eyeshadow, blush, powder cake, and cover cream. How can i tell if these things are expired. If I put them on, will I get a skin reaction? Also it had mascara, lipstick and eyeliner (pencil & liquid). I threw away the mascara and liquid eyeliner because it was dryed up. What about the pencil eyeliner? Does that expire too?
Hey,
I don't really know... but the answers you've got seem efficient. I just wanted to let you know, that you're first answer is completely wrong. DON'T EVER PUT YOUR EYELINER UNDER HEAT... trust me... I did this once and It TOTALLY melted!!!!!!!!!!! She has no idea what she's talking about. At first, I saw on a website that if you apply heat to your eyeliner, it glides on smoothly, well noooo that does not work! it just melts it.
As for you question- eyeliner, you should just sharpen it about 1 time a week, to get all of the bacteria off it. Mascara, use a wad of toilet paper to wipe off the mascara off the brush, so it get all of the bacteria off that too. Eye shadow- One person already said this and it was very good advice, to take toilet paper and just wipe off the eye-shadow on the top layer. Some make-up actually has the expiration date on it, and if they don't, and you're really concerned, then I suggest going to a local store to ask the manager.
I hope I helped!

Dear advicenators. I'm 15/m and in highschool. Theres this girl that I've liked for about a year now. We werent really going out but i made it really obvious that I liked her. I would give her stares and friendly smiles and linger around to wait for her to get out of her classes so I could walk her to her next class. I told her how i felt one day and we were on the verge of a relationship for about 4 weeks. I held her hand when we walked and bought her roses. She was my homecoming date but I never really asked her out. This one friday after school she out of the blue came up to me and told me she didn't think this was gonna work out. I was devastated and its been about a month now and I cant get her out of my head. I keep finding myself glancing over at her direction and wanting her to just look back at me for a second but she wont. I want her attention so badly that any kind of attention from her would satisfy me. I dont know what to do.. she seems to like another guy now, and you can probabally tell i'm the jealous type of person. but ya know, if shes happy its better off that way right? and now for the question, sorry for making this so long. Is there something wrong with me? What did I do wrong? and should I try to move on?
serious answers only please, Thanks in advance.
No no no no no!
You didn't do anything wrong!
She's just moved on. You've liked her for a year now... maybe more? I think it's just that she's gotten so used to you, that she wants a change in her life. You didn't do anything wrong. It's like what my mom says to me... It's THEIR loss, not your's. Yes, you should try to move on. There's somebody out there who's just as good as her, and she's waiting for you, so go and find her.
Travel, or go out and have an adventure, find her!
It's good that she's happier, because you want her to be happier. What you can do is go up to her and say "I know that our relationship didn't work, but at least let me still be your friend." Just let her know that you are there for her, and if she needs someone to talk to, as a friend, that you'll always be there for her, no matter what.
I wish the best!

I was thinking about getting a digital camera for my boyfriend for christmas but i'm not sure what kind to get, do you have any ideas on what ones are good?? Thanks!
You know, I'm not really sure...
but what you can always do is go to a local store and ask somebody that works there. They'll always give you good tips and ideas.
I hope I helped!!!

Hey everyone! On Tuesday my whole grade is going to a theatre to see a Christmas Carol. We are supposed to dress nice because we are representing our school, except nobody actually told us how nice we are supposed to dress. So my question is, what type of clothes should I wear so I look nice if people dress up but I don't look too weird if people don't dress up. Thanks in advanced &hearts
Well the same thing happened last year... our class went to a theater. Everyone in our class dressed up with jeans and their normal clothes, and I thought I had to dress up nicely (sp?) but I didn't stand out. I wore black pants and just a nice top that I wouldn't normally wear to school. But still an everyday type of shirt. Try not to stand out too much by wearing jewelry, make-up or hair-do's. You can also wear black shoes if you want to.
I hope I helped!

How do you know if a guy likes you? How can you tell if he's flirting? If you like him and you think he likes you, should you ask him out or wait for him to make a move? And how do you ask someone out without sounding stupid?
Hey,
I have no clue what the person below me is talking about... but i'll give you my advice
If you're too shy, ask a friend if they will go up to him and ask him if he likes you. Trust me, you can definitally tell if a guy likes you, he'll be sending you mixed signals, look at you all the time, obsessive over you, or is just diffrerent around you. I think you should ask him out! Because right now, you dont know if he likes you or not... sooo what if he doesn't like you? then he'll never ask you out! So YOU make the first move and ask him out.
How to ask a guy out- if you're too shy or embarressed, you can write him a note, or an email, or an IM asking him. Now... DONT do anything that says "I was wondering if you wanted to go out with me?, or I really like you, wanna go out sometime? or Hey, why dont we go on a date together?" Trust me! suuure.. its asking a guy out, but asking for too much. If you say those, it's like asking him to be your boyfriend. You want to start off easy by just asking him what he's doing over the weekend.
Dont include the words- Date, go out, boyfriend, girlfriend etc...
Instead, use something along these lines- I was wondering what you were doing on Friday?,
My friend cancelled a movie at the last minute, do you want to come with me instead?
I'm going to be so bored on Friday, do you want to do something with me then?
Soo, what i'm saying is start off easy and act like he's a friend, then you can begin by saying "I had a really good time on Friday, maybe on Saturday we could go out again?" you know.......... just start off easy, then gradually ask him out in other ways.
GOOD LUCK!

Does anyone know the title of the song in "A Walk to Remember" when he is giving Jamie the tattoo? It's driving me crazy. Thabks!
I have no idea, but what you could do is rent the movie... ffw to the end and look at the end credits. Theres a list of songs and singers that are there and you could look it up. Or... you can play the movie where that part is and then use Caption on your TV... That'll show you the title and singer.
I hope I helped!

well there is a boy in my FCS class i really like him he smart nice sensitive and caring for other kids what should i do HELP!! and im kind of scared to talk to him too so what should I do about that??
if you're too scared to talk to him, ask a friend to talk to him for you. When you look at him and he looks back, just quickly look away and kinda fix your hair. look back at him and smile or bite your lip. Those are fun and cute ways of letting him know you like him.
I hope I helped!
