My name is Devin Lindsey or Vinny as my sister calls me! I am 17 years old and go to Bethel Park High school. I loooove swimming along with dancing, singing, and playing softball. I also run varsity track with is alright i supose too.My favorite colors are orange, pink, and blue. I love to be crazy and have a good time
I've had a job working for 15+ monthes so I can answer alot about that
and I know alot about relationships in general so I can be helpful with that sometimes
especially with parent child relationships
I am a very observant person and tend to know more and care about more than most my age
and I really believe in volunteering to help animals especially at shelters. Usually its not their fault that they have to live their and its usually horrible cercimstances that bring them there and I feel terrible that they can't speak for themselves and people are too caught up in spending like $500 on this cute little pure breed puppy from a breeder just into getting rich instead of giving one of these dogs another chance at life (there are usually a handful of dogs under a year old so the i want a puppy excuse doesn't work with me)
My baby is named Lainey Mae... we got her from a shelter about 2 hours away from us when she was 7 weeks old. she is now 2 years old and the center of our family. unfortunately someone was cruel enough to go down and drug up and shoot (but luckly not kill) most of the dogs plus rob the owner (just like someone did at the shelter where I volunteer) and its now shut down

I want to get my cartilage done but my mom is extremly against it since there is a high risk of infection. I'm willing to pay for the piering, take the time to clean it and get a small silver ball so it's not highly visable. I would get it done at a doctors office so theres a less chance of infection but I'm not sure if they do cartilage piercings. I don't know if its that she thinks this piercing will lead to other ones, it looks trashy or she thinks it will get infected. I want to convince her its not for any of those reasons and that there are ways to have your cartilage done and have it not look trashy. (Like by wearing small studs) I have two piercings on each side and don't intend on having anything more done than my cartilage. I just need help convincing her about this. I'm 15/f btw.
I got mine done at the age of 15 at piercing pigoda and to this day (2 1/2 years later) it has never gotten infected (along with my 5 other piercings).... my mom was super against it too! i begged for like 2 years before i got it pierced... it took me till i was in 12 before i could even get my 2nd hole pierced.. if begging hasnt worked for you set a goal to achieve to get it done... i asked in 7th grade to get by belly button pierced and after a no for over a year my mom decided if i got a 4.0 (i was getting 3.3-3.5 at the time) then i could get it done... Finially May of this year I got it done and not only was I happy i also felt a sense of accomplishment

you want a party dress thats dressier than a sundress but something that will be comfortable but not too sexy
also for the ceramony i would wear a sweater over anything without sleeves but for the reception a spigetti strap is fine

I would charge $5 an hour... so you would have to split it (unless you too switch off days) unless you are over 18 and have some sort of degree thats pretty much a good rate.
try crafts, baking, playing outside... you can go to local libraries and check out books on preschool/kindergarten age kids crafts and stuff. do things that are cheap and fun like make playdough or bake cookies... Just please no tv! parents arent paying you to just pop in movies.. only do that if you need to do laundry or cook and you need him entertained.

ok...So I'm getting ready to turn 18...August 14th to be exact and I still don't know what I'm going to do for my birthday...My parents wont let me have like a party but I want to do something big. well I turn 18 in Dec so I've started to think about it a little bit.. What I am planning on doing is getting a bunch of people together and going downtown to a local club (most over 21 clubs let in people that are 18 you just have to wear special wrist bands and stuff.. just call and double check ahead of time) or get a group of people and go out to dinner.. I went to the hardrock for my 17th. just make sure they know you aren't paying for them all to eat and stuff

so since ill be going to highschool, i really want to get extensions to make my hair longer. my hairs a little past my shoulder. but, ive never had extensions or anything, but i dont really want it too much longer, but longer. if you know what i mean. is it expensive?
yeah it is.. it varies alot though depending on what exactly you get and what kind of salon you go to.
the cheapest way to do it (about $25 plus tip) is if you can find a highschooler thats goes to tech for cosmo.. there were a few girls that would do them for kids at my school this year. you can buy the extentions at sallys for like $25 then they would put them in (they usually do a good job) for just like $10 or whatever to want to give them

I get it on and off during the whole time i am not on my period.. it usually gets at its heaviest the week before my period and starts back up very light a few days after my period ends... it all depends on your body and will vary from person to person a little bit
I heard face masks cause more acne because it clogs your pores or something? Is that true?
Do face masks really help?
ive heard that.. thats why you leave masks on for like only 15 mins... some of the cheap ones may do more harm than good
but the refining mask by proactiv is great... I don't usually like their products but i sleep over night it this and its great!
Ok well my dog Adrian died and its really hard for me and i keep thinking about her....And i WONT ever forget her though....And i like loved her and i still do and shes buried in the backyard so i can see her...And it just makes it harder....Please Help...
I know exactly what you are going through.. it happened to me about 2 years ago. I posted pictures of him all over my room.. it helped alot when i cried to look at him.. i also kept little things like his collar and tags. it made me feel like he was still with me. it just takes time.. it took me a couple of monthes before i stopped crying.
What helped though was getting a new dog.. we got a puppy about 2 monthes later.. she was never to replace him but fill that cap in are hearts.. we new rescueing another dog from a shelter like we did to him would make him happy... haha this is making me tear up just typing this
but it made it easier to compare her habbits to hims and stuff instead of just talking about him alone.
nothing will ever replace her to you but trying to move on is the first step.. and getting another dog was right for us and we show as much love to her as we did our last one

it shouldn't cost more but they can tell.. I know on my bill it shows every text and call and what time and at what number (they can tell out of state by the area code) if it doesn't come with the bill they can certainly ask for a print out... but I am guessing thats not likely

I would say 17. I don't read either regularly (I prefer people magazine) but i think cosmo is too into gossip where 17 has more practical things like dieting tips and stuff like that. cosmo is something that like once the next one comes out the old one is old news but 17 has things in it that you can keep and always come back to
My freshman orientation is coming up next month, and I just moved to a new town so I don't , so I'm not sure what to wear. I pretty much shop at Hollister, American Eagle, those kind of places.

I would say cute but comfy... I always see girls where skirts and they are freezing because the air is cranked and they can never run around and what not outside and play get to know you games because what they are in.. where somethings like jeans and a cute and semi dressy but not slutty top and bring a sweater incase its chilly... focus more on your hair and stuff... I would say people look at that than how you are dressed as long as you look decent (in highschool brand names become less important usually over overall fashion and look)

I saw the SHAC demos put together into one video on youtube. I believe they're stationed in Europe...maybe I'm wrong. Anyways, are they going to come to Washington DC or somewhere in Virginia again? And could I join even though I'm only 15? Although I highly doubt my mom would let me be part of a demo but whatever. I just wanted to know how old you have to be in order to be able to join demos
hey that other person pretty much answered your question and this is totally unrelated to your answer (sorta)
but I was wondering if you ever considered or do volunteer at dog shelters.. not only can they get you more involved in different demos and stuff but that is the best way to help animals... because no matter how strict things get with the law and animal rights its never going to be able to be 100% prevented and i would say 70% of the animals in alot of shelters where taken from homes where they are abused and sometimes spend the rest of their lives in shelters
I try to go as often as possible to my local shelter to do what I can.. one year me and a girl for girlscouts had a drive and collected food to take down and I try to go down and walk these poor dogs around on trails in the surrounding area and stuff because without volunteers most of these dogs just sit in their cages alone all day. I know at my shelter there are only 1 or 2 paid employees with over 40 dogs and close to 100 cats so its impossible for them to do it alone.. and most shelters like mine are soo poor there is nothing they can really do.
If you don't already volunteer consider it.. even if you can only go once or twice a year. It makes a huge difference in the lives of these poor animals that can't speak for themselves and did nothing wrong to spend their lives like that.
hey. well, i'm 14/f. ever since i was like 9 years old, my denist has wanted me to work for him when i get older. like, every single time i go in there, he always goes "so what do you think you're going to do when you get older?" and i'll be like "idk" and he'll say something like "well, i think you should work for me, you've been through a lot and i think you would be great at a job like this" blah blah blah. lol.he says i've been through a lot cause i've had like, 10 teeth pulled cause they wouldn't come out on there own, and now i have braces, so he conceders that a lot. and when i was younger, i was not intrested in it AT ALL. but i just when in there again in June, and he said all that once again, and this time i'm actually concidering it. i'm guessing that when i turn 16 he would hire me to be like a person to answer fones and stuff, and learn how to do the whole teeth stuff. then i would just move on from there. but here is my question. when i get older (like college old) and if i stil want to do dentistry, how long do you have to go to college for dentistry? and how hard is it and stuff? thanks a lot!
its a long time.. haha well its not that bad.. its hard to get into though.. thats like the 2nd hardest medical profession. First you have to have perfect grades basically (atleast a 3.5) through highschool then you would enter and predentistry program usually for 4 years.. then from there you would go to medical school anywhere from 2 years and up depending on your specialty and your school. I would say its pretty hard because there is a lot to know but the most important thing is your grades.. If you aren't getting straight A's getting into med school then getting a job (incase this falls through) may be hard because would you want someone in your mouth that only pulled off Cs? ya know?
the harder you work and the more focused you are the easier it becomes and the less schooling you will need
On my first day of highschool I'm probly just gonna bring folder, notebook, pen & pencil, but I need a purse or small bad type thing to carry around. Do girls carry purses or bags arround? I want to, but if no one else does than i dont want to. Also, what kind of purse or bag should I bring on the 1st day? I have a big coach purse and I also have a small pink tote.

usually i carry a big purse or tote with me because you can stick all of your personal stuff in there along with pens and some small books and stuff. on the first day i usually bring a big purse because teachers give you papers and stuff with their expectations on it to carry and then i usually bring a notebook and stick the papers all in there. you dont really need a folder and you really only need a pen or pencil on the first day (i usually say pen because teachers might want you to sign stuff in it). if you have it drawstring bags are also nice to carry but I always have a purse sometimes big sometimes small but yeah
big bags are great especially on rainy/snowly days

What are the requirements for teens?
1) Complete a 28-hour classroom course (Drivers Education) and receive a certificate of completion.
2) Complete at least 6 hours of a behind the wheel driving course with a state licensed driving instructor and received a certificate of completion.
3) Have an instruction permit issued by the Department of Motor Vehicles for at least 6 months before taking the driving test with the DMV.
4) Practice up to 50 hours with parents or guardian prior to taking the driving test.
5) If a teenager fails the written (Law) test, there is a one-week wait before taking the test again
6) If a teenager fails the driving test, a two-week wait is needed before taking the test again.
After receiving the license, teenagers have new restrictions for the first year.

yours is i believe very similar to mine in PA.
if you need to go out at 2AM yes you would need a parents(or anyone licensed over 25). in my state the only way you can be driving out that late (12-5) is if you are coming home/going to work or coming home/going to school/school function and you would need to get special paperwork proving that
in my state you can only trasport as many people as seatbelts and I know i need no adult to transport people under 20.. I am sure there is some sort of exception in there for if you are going to school or they are related to you or whatever you would have to look more into the manual or contact your dmv with the question
awhile back i entered a question about my 20 yr old daughter leaving back east to live with her father. well, she has asked my 18 yr old son to go with her, supposedly just for a few weeks, but i am extremely uncomfortable about this. i did not yell ar anything but the ex husband does nothing except try to brainwash them while they are there. they are leaving tomorrow and i can't help but feel abandoned by my kids who i've suffered and sacraficed to support all these years. i can't even look at my daughter, let alone say good-bye to her. i am so disappointed with her. i'm sure my son feels as if he is in the middle of all this and it breaks my heart that her and her father are going to try to talk him into staying there instead of coming back. my ex really is a piece of shit who has done nothing all these years but now looks like mr. cool. he is totally going against any rules i've made and if i say white he says black. i cannot believe how easyily my daughter is being swayed by him. and i'm trying to be cool about all of this, but i'm afraid i will lose it tomorrow when it's time for them to leave. i don't even want to be here, which i won't because i am so deeply hurt due to how my daughter is being to me and now i fear my son is a lost cause as well. and to top it all off, not only do i feel like the worst parent in the world, it looks like that as well. and one more thing, he is an alcoholic and she is already following in his foot steps by having problems with alcohol, i don't even know if the decisions she has made are alcohol induced or not. help!!
Its probally hard to go through what you are going through and its nothing that I could ever picture what your going through but i do say this as a daughter I would say let them go.. they are at an age where they hopefully have instilled all of your morals into their mind and know what they want for themselves. its hard to let any one go especially to someone you don't like. but think of it as a learning lesson... maybe your kids will see how lucky they are. every child needs to get away from the person they have spent their whole life with to find themselves. They are now adults and live their lives how they choose for better or for worse and all you can do is sit back and pray for them and make sure they know whatever they choose you are always there
My friend was studying to go to culinary school maybe 1-2 years ago? That was when he was in high school. The upcoming year, he's going to be going to college and he said that he's going to study towards being a nutritionist and a chef...and I was thinking that those two were pretty different things. Aren't they? Wouldn't it be like a double major or do they kind of "flow" with each other? I'm just confused. Thanks =)
I don't really think they are that different.. I mean check out the food network most of those shows are on healthy cooking these days and thats what alot more restaurants are focusing on
that could make him big bucks if he can find a way to make great food and it also be extremely healthy.
Also it gives him 2 different solid career roots once he gets out of college incase he decides he no longer likes one of them

they're really tender but i din't know if them itching had anything to do with them growing...?
is your skin try? in the summer and winter mine get real itchy.. they may not look try but try moisturizing for a few days and see if that helps
and they get tender when they grow and when you are on your period
School is starting in like less than a month...
and the cross country team is going to start training really soon. The thing is.. out of about the 200 kids in my class NOBODY is doing cross country because the coach is an ahole.
Plus, i have to run 3 MILES this year if i do it. And i cant stand the coach at all either. I dont do any other sports..i mean i love basketball but isnt it really hard to make the team in highschool?
I've already got running shoes, but my mom said we can return them if we need to. Do most people do sports in highschooL?? Cuz if i dont do cross country i will still go to the health club and run anyway...i just wont have the stupid coach. I would try out for the basketball team but our class is HIGHLY competitive in the sport and theres NO WAY i would make it. The only reasons i would do cross country is to be healthy, and to have a sport when trying to go to college. But i would hate having to run alone, and the coach is completely HORRIBLE.
I would stick with cross country.. its a great sport all around and it makes you a great athlete.. I really admire people who can run like that. and besides the sport doesn't last that long anyways.. like what 2 monthes? you can put of with him for that long
and I would say go out for basketball.. I know at my school which is pretty big (its a AAAA school which sports wise thats the highest you can be ranked size wise) and everyone basically make the freshman bball team and sometimes they even need 8th graders because there aren't enough players for the freshman team and for the jv team.. try it its worth a shot... whats the worst that can happen you try out and don't make it. Freshman basketball is nothing like Varsity basketball and is great for newcomers
Also try things like winter indoor track and spring track
just do something.. 1 it gives you an activity to put on your college application and 2 people that do sports tend to me more organized overall and have better time management not to mention they are in better shape!
