You need to use a washcloth or something to make sure that you got rid of it all, but if there is some still left, then yes, some types of face masks will clog your pores, causing acne.
However, I'd try Queen Helene's Mint Julep Masque. It's very affordable, and it works very well for most people. It's also the really thick type of masque that is really easy to clean off of your face, so it doesn't clog your pores like a thin masque does... You can buy Queen Helene's Mint Julep Masque at Sally Beauty Supply Stores, I believe. It's worth it, too. :)
