drivers restrictions

Question Posted Sunday July 22 2007, 6:13 pm

hey
i live in california
and i recently finished an online course for drivers education
now i need training
but
when i get my permit and do my hours then after 6 months, go take the road test and get my license i know i have restrictions but what are they
on this one website it sayd

"According to statistics, teenage drivers get more tickets and are in more accidents than other drivers. It is for these reasons that state law requirements for teen drivers age 15 to 17 1\2 are in place.
What are the requirements for teens?

1) Complete a 28-hour classroom course (Drivers Education) and receive a certificate of completion.
2) Complete at least 6 hours of a behind the wheel driving course with a state licensed driving instructor and received a certificate of completion.
3) Have an instruction permit issued by the Department of Motor Vehicles for at least 6 months before taking the driving test with the DMV.
4) Practice up to 50 hours with parents or guardian prior to taking the driving test.
5) If a teenager fails the written (Law) test, there is a one-week wait before taking the test again
6) If a teenager fails the driving test, a two-week wait is needed before taking the test again.

After receiving the license, teenagers have new restrictions for the first year.

What are the restrictions?

" 1) During the first 6 months as a licensed drive the teen must be accompanied by their parent or guardian, or a licensed driver age 25 or over when driving between the hour of midnight and 5:00 A.M., or when transporting people under the age of 20.
2) The second six months, one of the previous restrictions are lifted; parental supervision is no longer required during the hours of 5:00 A.M. to midnight. Supervision between the hours of midnight and 5:00 A.M. is still in effect.
The 6 Hour Behind-the-Wheel Course will involve the following: steering control, braking and accelerating, right and left turns, lane changes, reversing, freeway driving and much more
the 6 hour course is the basic beginners package for teens and not enough to make a good driver and that's why the previous laws mention are enforced. "

but what is this about midnight to 5 am!??
like
if i were to go to the store at like 2AM i would need a parent

or is it saying like during the say i need a ;licensed adult ?

HELP IM SO CONFUSED!!

ok so i live in michigan...but the rules are pretty much similar.
im not entirely sure about the permit part...
but from when you get your liscence (16) to a year later (when you turn 17) then you have driving time restrictions. which is your curfew, you cant be on the road between midnight and 5am, unless you have written premission from your parents, or guardian.

but the thing is, a cop can't pull you over just because you look young, so most of the time you can get away with driving past curfew. i'm 16, but i drive past curfew all the time, just drive extra safe then

good luck!

its really confusing i know!

yours is i believe very similar to mine in PA.

if you need to go out at 2AM yes you would need a parents(or anyone licensed over 25). in my state the only way you can be driving out that late (12-5) is if you are coming home/going to work or coming home/going to school/school function and you would need to get special paperwork proving that

in my state you can only trasport as many people as seatbelts and I know i need no adult to transport people under 20.. I am sure there is some sort of exception in there for if you are going to school or they are related to you or whatever you would have to look more into the manual or contact your dmv with the question
