Very helpful tool :D

advice

so i am 5'2 and i was like 106 pounds before the summer. now i am 115 pounds and it keeps getting higher. ive been eating healthy latelty but its not helping!
how do i get back to how it was before??
is there any other explanation for this??

Funny, that's what is happening to me.

I was researching it lately and I found out one thing that really stood out to me.

Exercizing burns calories, but you have to eat LESS for it to have any effect. Meaning, yes you may eat healthy, and you may exercize. But, that exercize is helping to maintain the weight. In order to lose it, you have to eat less.

Here is what I am doing and it has been helping.
I am strictly monitoring my calorie consumption. Keeping it under 1500 calories while exercizgin will help you lose weight. You should try it.

As for teh explanation? I still can't figure it out. I didn't seem to do anything different, yet I was gaining weight. I guess that is just what happens as you age. :(

Best of luck :D

Hello. I'm going to be talking to a manager at Walgreens sometime soon. He'd like to talk to me and possibly set up an interview. I'm writing to ask what kind of positions they would have to offer besides being a cashier, which is the obvious position. I've asked many people just so I can know some things ahead of time, but not many people know. I was hoping one of you atleast has worked at walgreens, or a store similar to it. I'm really wanting to work there, but I was wanting strictly a stock position. Putting things on shelves, organizing things on shelves, etc. Does anyone know if they would have a position like that? I think it would be really fun to do that, it'd go by fast, and I'd be good at that. I don't really wanna be working at a cashier handling money. If anyone can help me please let me know! Thank you so much!

Well, I was looking through the career opportunities at Walgreens and the kind of positions they have. I used this website: http://www.walgreens.com/marketing/about/careers/hourly/default.jsp

I think you might be interessted in working as a Service Clerk

Here is what they do:
As a Service Clerk, you provide friendly, courteous and efficient service to Walgreens customers. In addition, Service Clerks are responsible for:
Entering sales on the cash register and customer service
Merchandising, store inventory and product ordering
Maintaining store signage and displays

I know you said that you don't want to be on the register, but you can possibly request working towards the merchandising part of the job which includes taking care of inventory.

Learning a new skill is never harmful in the career world. They will most likely have you learn the register so when they need back-up you can lend a hand.

When you go to apply, mention how you would like to work more in the merchandising than at the cash register. However, if you really want the job then you may be asked to do both. Be open-minded at first.

Best of luck :D

hey im 18/f and i want to start working out again because i need to tone up and get in shape. When i was about 15 i worked out alot and then got very ugly stretch marks from my muscles growing too fast i think. I really dont want this to happen when i start working out again. Does anybody have any ideas on what to do to stop them? Thanks a lot!

I found this site that talks about preventing stretch marks when working out.

http://www.muscle-pro.com/muscle-growth-preventing-stretch-marks.htm

Here are somethings from the site I found helpful:

One treatment that helps some people is the administration of cocoa butter or other moisturizing creams to the area. It is believed that the moisture helps the skin to stretch and prevent stretch marks from appearing. These lotions contain alpha hydroxy acid and remove the top layer of cells, thus lessening the visibility of the stretch marks.

Nutrition and diet also have a lot to do with the prevention of stretch marks. A diet rich in zinc, vitamins A, D, & C, and protein can help improve your skin's quality and prevent stretch marks. It is also important to drink plenty of water, at least 8 to 10 glasses a day.

You should reduce the amount of tea, coffee, and soda you drink. Adequate water intake will make your skin soft and pliable which will prevent it from tearing and causing stretch marks.

Hope that helped!

Last year I took my senior picture and it came out really bad, i looked really fat and wore all black which also looked really bad. I'm kind of fat anyway so I know i'll look fat no matter what in the picture but are there any ways to lessen it a little? are there ways to kind of avoid the double chin? what should I wear?

There are lots of ways to look good in a picture.
You have to keep in mind many things.

First, check your posture. How do you stand? If you are slumping, you will be creating unnecessary lumps and bumps on your body, including around your chin area because the fat seeks unfirmed areas to settle in. Stand up tall, put your head up, shoulders back and uncurve that spine.

You can also, improve your hairstyle. Don't have a haircut that rests at the level of your chin, or long hair, because both styles will draw more attention to your chin. Make the hair sit higher, if possible.

Wear a broad, open neckline. This will draw attention away from your neck region.

But, rememeber. Confidence radiates through pictures. If you don't look happy or feel confident while taking the picture, it will show.

This link may help as well. http://www.wikihow.com/Lessen-a-Double-Chin

I'm just curious.
All my life every time I eat ice cream, eat cereal, drink a shake or a smoothie, I ALWAYS start coughing and clearling my throat multiple times for like fifteen minutes after.
All of these things have dairy in them.
So I'm thinking I might be a little bit allergic?

I get link a pinching in my throat that makes me need to cough or clear my throat. It;s not like a break out in hives or my throat puffs up so I can;t breath.
So if I am allergic, it's extremely minor enough that I can still consume dairy products.

But like I said, I'm just curious, do you think I'm allergic?

Well, here is a site that talks about the symptoms of being allergic. It also mentions lactose intolerance.

The best thing I can say is to compare the symptoms. Some include:
Abdominal Pain
Acne
ADD/ADHD
Anxiety
Arthritis
Canker sores
Constipation
Diarrhea
Ear Infections
Fatigue

These seem way to severe for you to be allergic, in my opinion.

Here are the symptoms for lactose intolerance:
Intestinal cramps or discomfort
Gas
Bloating
Diarrhea

Again, these symptoms seem too severe.

The best thing you can do is to give your doctor a call. You don't even have to schedule an appointment (unless they say). Just mention your sympotoms and the nurses usually do try to help. That's what I do when I think something is up.

Best of luck :D

hey i need an idea for a college esssay

i need my essay to STAND OUT
any advice will really help!

When I was writing my college essay, I heard that writing about something you are passionate about is best. The reason for this is because your passion will show through your words.

In my case, I wrote about my internship where I was the Student Athletic Trainer. I want to be a doctor and I wrote about how helping the players really gave me satisfaction and made me happy. When I had people read it, they always commented about how much it showed, my passion for becoming a doctor.

So I think that's the best thing you can do. Write from you heart. What is something that gets you going? What is your dream job and why is it so important for you to have that as a career? Is there something you want to change strongly?

If you do this, I believe your essay will turn out great. If you need someone to proofread, I can help you there too :)

I can see my leg hairs under my skin. I mean like, after I shave, I can still see dark little lines where the rest of the hair is. I was never pale to begin with (I'm Asian) and now that summer's almost over I'm rather tan, and I can still see those obnoxious lines! Is there a way to stop them from showing? It isn't a huge issue really, I've come to terms with it and it's not like anyone has ever pointed it out, but I'd like to avoid it if I can. Thanks!

You might have in-grown hairs. They sometimes result from shaving.

This might help you out...

I need some help. My 14th birthday is coming up and I dont know what to do for my birthday...We are on a very tight budget and most of my family isn't near at the time...What are things I can do with my mom and brother??? Also is there anything I can do to avoid the feeling of being forgotten..My birthday wasn't great last year. Everyone was gone and I was home alone...I don't want to go through that agin...any ideas???
Please Help

well since it summer and hot (hopefully where you live) you can do an outdoor party. You could have pizza and cake with like maybe a water balloon fight at the end. It could just take place in your backyard. I know that even little things like that can get everyone to have fun. Since you don't want to be alone afterwords have a couple of girls stay for an extended sleepover. This way you will still have fun even when other people leave.

Happy early B-day
if you have more Q's, i can help :)

I'm 17f. Last weekend I was sleeping over my best friend's house. We're really close and she knows everything about me. But since we're both religious Jews and our families are too, we're very modest. We never change in front of one another or anything like that. One of us goes to the bathroom and other changes in the bedroom. Anyway, On Saturday I woke up at like 7;30 because I heard a noise. I looked around and saw my friend in her hed. She was on top of the blankets and her p.j. pants and panties were off. She was playing with herself. She must have thought I wouldn't wake up. Anyway I didn't move at all, and sort of squitned so it would look like my eyes were closed but really I could see her. Since her beds are in a L shape design, I saw everything.

I was never sure if she did that, but since I know I do, I figured she must do it too. But it's not something we would EVER discuss. Now I kinda feel guilty for watching her, but at the same time I'm kind of interested in talking to her about it since I don't have anyone I can talk to about that stuff. But I'm afraid she'll be totally embarassed and I might lose my best friend. At the same time, I'm scared because seeing her like that . . .get me VERY turned on. I keep thinking about how she looked and then I have to relieve myself. What do I do? How do I start a conversation about it? Remember in our religious community, sex is NOT and I repeat NOT ever talked about except before marriage.

well don't tell her you saw that. in fact try to forget it about it. You are righ it would be super embarassing fo rher to hear that and especially since you saw it.

but you can still talk about those kinds of things. just start by a little question about something and move on from there. See how she acts and if she wants to talk then go ahead. but remember that what you saw wasn't really something you should have seen so mentioning would not be the best idea.

best of luck.

Hey
i'm 14/f

Well i recently got a new bf and we've been going out for about a week and well i want to start spending more time with him like after school and on weekends but i haven't told my parents about him yet because they always make fun of me when i get a boyfriend so i don't really like telling them but i don't want to lie. How could i tell them without just coming out and say "I have a boyfriend?" like just slip it into the convo or something..

thanks in advance
p.s sorry its so long!

hmm well...

you could first tell them that he is your friend and you like him a lot. you could bring him to visit. then when they get used to that you can tell them that you are going to go out an a date with him. this way they won't be as surprised and they might not make that big of a deal.

if you want you can also try telling them not to make fun of you about that. If you can try to tell them how you feel about that so in the future you won't have to worry about it as much.

best of luck.

It sounds odd, but I sometimes get the feeling that my friends are no longer interested in remaining friends with me, but are being polite about it.

How can you tell if they no longer want you as a friend without outright asking them?

well, since you don't want to ask them try the other following ways

1) ask them if they want to go somewhere with you ex. the movies or shopping. Note their response. Do they hesitate? Say no right away?

2)you could also hint it. like say to him/her "i don't like it when people pretend to continue being friends with you when they don't" maybe, she'll get the idea.

3) talk to her. does she listen? does she answer and share her opinions? or does she just nod and smile?

4) if those tries go failed then you might want to just ask her. this way you will know for sure and won't be as troubled.

best of luck.

i have a couple of questions.

what is something you like that is in your yearbook? for example, the suprelatives or clubs

what would you like to see in your yearbook?

andddd

what dont you like in your yearbook?

if you could answer any of these questions, i'd really appriciate it ! sorry if this is in the wrong category. they didn't have a category for extra curriculars.

last year my year book did this new thing and it turned out super cool!

On everypage there would be a picture from a club or school event and on the bottom of the page there were like two rows of student pictures. This way it wasn't all like 15 pages of student pics but more interessting to look at.

Add quotes from people about random things.

Have student submit pics of themselves and there friends to be on this like collage page.

have an index of the student pics so you can find yourself and other pics you could be in (I really liked that my year book did this!)

also have enough room for autograph pages.

have a nice layout and cover (the cover look is very important).

best of luck.

hi im 14/f and my birthday is in Novemeber. Im in 9th grade but supposed to be in 8th according to the whole what garde based on what month your bday is in but i got tested when i was little and they let me in school early because i was smart enough. so anyway i always feel so young because i can pass for 12! basically i look 13 but i want to look 14/15!! what are some ways to make me look older?? please anything! thanks and i will rate :)

Actually it's the same for me. I mean I'm a junior and still 16, infact next year, when I'll be a senior, I'll still be 16! So you are not alone.

Here are some links that might help
http://www.wikihow.com/Look-Older-as-a-Teen
http://www.wikihow.com/Look-Older

but, really to tell you the truth, don't be afraid to look your age. You'll only be 14 for a little while. And I don't mean like act young, but be comfortable in what you are wearing and how you act. People think I'm a sophmore all the time, but it's fine. You can tell them that you got a grade ahead because of how smart you are.

Be confident, be you!

i have clear braces and i brush my teeth after EVERY time i eat and i don't even get food in my teeth. i can never miss brushing my teeth i bring my toothbrush and toothpaste everywhere but yet my teeth are still yellow. WHAT SHOULD I DO!? it's impossible for me to brush them more than i already do and i don't know what else to do!

I know how you feel. I have braces too and the part of the teeth that is exposed is fine but towards the bottom of my teeth, it's yellow! And I brush all the time as well. I don't think there is much you can do about it, but talk to your orthodontist about it.
