My sister works at the airport so she can fly for free, we already live in New York but we plan on going to New York City for the day, not staying overnight. How much money do you think I should save up? Not including meals.

Well, this is something you need to ask your sister. Since she works at the airport, she can tell you. Chances are since you're going somewhere close, the ticket may be cheap & if she can't get you on for free, she can get you a discount.


I would save up at least $100-150 for food & other things alone. NYC isn't cheap, but depending on where you go, it can be relatively affordable. But talk to your sister & see what she can do. =) Have fun in NYC.

I know this answer probably isn't much help, but try Wal*Mart. They could possibly have what you're looking for, but make sure you're specific about what you want or you could get the wrong thing.

I'm a little nervous about what people say about high school. People say that high school is really a scary thing and that the older kids always pick on you. One of my older friends got molested at a high school party. (Problem Solved) Kids are always talking about the populars. I never had any problem with it in Middle Scool. And I really don't know what to expect ? Can anyone share expieriences and tell me the honest good and bad of high school ?

I'm gonna tell you this in all seriousness. High school can either be the worst times of your life, or it can be the best times, but it depends on how you make it.


If you're worried about making lots of friends, becoming popular & cool, not getting picked on, or how to fit in, then you're going to be miserable.


Dress how you want, ignore the rumors, do your work, join sports & worry about nothing, and you'll be fine.


If you're worried about people picking on you, then keep worrying. Everyone gets picked on at some point in their life but if you ignore the shit they say, then they'll stop.


But do what makes you happy. High school is a lot of fun.

This made me cry sooooooooo hard ok here is the story. We were at my colleage and in the girls bathroom every one just walks around naked and we dont care and some girls have like huge boobs but anyways the mean girls at our school were being flirty to the boys and the boys had a crazy and mean and pretty much illgal plan. They were going to put a camera in the girls bathroom. and the worst part is all of the boys caught me naked ok this is going to be a long story. theboys were going to hide in the showers because it was lateand time for us to goback to our doorms and anyways there is a time limit to take showers so anyways when we werent there all of the guys hid in the showers and the othere two guys were hooking up the camera and it was a really tiny camera so none of us can see it so anyways....all i had was my robe on and nothing else i told my freind after i take my shower i will meet you back at the dorm.and she said ok cya.so now no one was there and i took off my robe and opened the shower curtain and there he was..i screamed my head off and ran out the door nto the hall where all the dorms are and i wasnt even coverd up with my robe i left it n the bathroom and then when i ran out all the other boys came running out into the hall.and i was so shocked i didnt even run or cover myself with my hands and the boys laughed at me and after they laughed at me i waited five seconds while they were just staring at my vagina and my boobs i ran into the bathroom and the boy was still there and he was try to touch my vagina and boobs so i kikked him out. it was the worst day of mylife.after that i called my boy freind.and he was helpfull.the next day i went over to there rental house and started to tell them off and they said they were sorry and they sort of chuckled and then they left to the school. Then i saw something on the table and it was a recorded video tape of last night and even more. They had a video tape of all of us naked on there and they were after all just hazing. i was so angry i didnt even pick up the tape and the tape was really high teck so it told you how many time you watched it and at the end of the day so i went there when they had just left there dorm lughing and then i saw that the tape was watched 12 times!!i didnt take it the second time i was so upset and the next morning it was on the morning news!!!so the whole entire school saw it even the teachers the boy teachers so i was the laughing stock of the century and i never got that tape back i need a way to setle this its ongoing!!Have any advice?

Report it to the school. What they did was illegal, immoral & wrong. If you report it, they can get expelled & arrested.


Not only did they humiliate you, but they humiliated other girls too. So tell the school & pray for the best.

i've been molested, as a child. it happened often and i've tried so hard to block it out but now i feel like it defines me. nobody knows, i can't say anything nobody will believe me. everybody will hate me. he ruined me. i picture how my life would be if it never happened, the way i am now is horrible. i make so many mistakes just trying to make myself feel better but nothing works. i dont know what to do, i cant talk to anybody. im 16, this happened the summer going into 5th grade then into the year.

You need to tell someone about this. Hiding it is just going to ruin you, and that process has already begun. Therefore, you need to fix this before it gets worse.


The thing I don't understand is why won't you tell anyone? Nobody is going to hate you. They're going to be understanding, and they're going to get you help. If they don't believe you, then they're stupid.


Just tell someone though. You need to get help for this, or it's going to haunt you for the rest of your life. I'm so sorry this happened. I hope the person who did that to you goes to prison for the rest of their life, and I hope you get what you got taken from you back.

I'm guessing that he's stationed there, or doing bootcamp, correct? Whatever he may be there for, he's not always going to be able to call. The time distance is three hours, so you may be sleeping at times & he won't wanna wake you up. Other times, you may call him at a time good for you, but not for him.


Don't be discouraged. Just leave him a message or something & he should get back to you eventually.

(i'll call my friend jen and her boyfriend zack.) jen started hiding lots of things from me, stuff we used to tell each other all the time. she started sneaking out and doing vandalism like spray painting, TPing, forking, egging, rubberbanding etc.
she told me this and told me not to tell ANYONE.

Talk to her about it. She's doing very illegal things, & she knows it. Let her know that if she gets caught, she'll be given a record & she'll get in a lot of trouble with her parents & possibly go to juvenile hall. I doubt it'd get that extreme, but since she's done multiple acts of illegal things, it could happen.


Slap some sense into your friend. Scare her if that's what it takes.

i cannnotttt fall asleep as hard as i try, ive tried music, ive tried warm drinks, ive tried reading, watching tv, I CANT GO TO SLEEP!its driving me crazzzzzy i lay in my bed for at LEAST 3 hours. then finally fall asleep, does anyone know anyways you have tried falling asleep and it worked? I'm no doctor, but you might have insomnia which a sleeping disorder & it prevents you from sleeping. My friend has it, and sometimes she doesn't sleep for weeks at a time. But her case is pretty extreme.


Anyways, I would see a doctor. It may not be insomnia, but you still never know. Your doctor may prescribe you some sleeping pills so you can fall asleep.

im turning 15 this August and im debating what to do. i think i kinda wanna just do a simple little party with just a few people. im a girl and live in Newton Falls, Ohio if it helps. any ideas?

Invite some friends over, and that could include guys if you'd like. If you have a pool, have them bring a swimsuit & a towel. Have a BBQ/pool party type of thing.


If you don't have a pool, have them bring money & then go out to dinner & desert. That could be fun, or just see a movie. Since you're turning 16 years old next year [that's usually a big one], I would have a small party, so you're already a step ahead.

here is the thing.
lately i've been going through a hard time.
one of my friends (whos a guy) has been there for every step of the way.
i told him not to worry about me.
but he said because he knew i wasnt alright then he worried about me.
and monday he worried about me all day.
even though he was with his crush.
and i told him to just have fun but he couldnt focus.
i sent him an IM saying call me when u see this and an hour later i guess. he came home..and then a half hour later i can came back online.
and he asked what was wrong.
and i bascially was really mean to him.
and bitched and told him f-u and he got mad at me..and then i cleaned it up with something i wrote. then today i found out i had got my period.
which is probably half the reason why i acted that way on monday night. so now i feel really bad. but if i apologize idk if he will accept it.
because when i mess up i say sorry a lot. and im so lost. =[.
any ideas? should i flat out say i got it? we tell each other everything. any ideas on lyrics to kind of say sorry. i cant think of any sort of lyrics that fall into this situation. =[

Just apologize to him. You don't need any fancy lyrics to let him know how you feel. Let it come from the heart.


Either call or IM him, and tell him exactly the truth. You didn't mean to be rude, but you were flustered & accidentally took it out on him and you're sorry.


I wouldn't worry about him not accepting your apology. He's been with you through everything, so I'm pretty sure he won't let a few mean words stop him from talking to you. He should understand because basically, shit happens.

I dyed my hair black. I really want a dark/chocolate brown. I dyed my hair about 4 months ago and my roots are dark brown. there's random brown streaks in my hair too... Will i be able to.. dye my hair a dark brown or will the black over power still?
The black has faded, it's not so harsh .. like halloween wigs, you know? Sometimes it looks like dark brown.

It's just I'm trying so hard to avoid bleach because i'm growing out my hair and I know that it fries the hell out of it... i'm finding that black hair does not flatter me.. :/ i really just want something to go well with my skin.

help? i can't go to a salon, i'm really poor. they charge a lot over here.. i can only afford to buy a box of dye.

I'm pretty sure you'd be able to dye your hair brown & have it work. Since the black is fading out & some of your hair is already brown, it could work. If it does, wait a bit & then dye it again. Don't dye it frequently though because that's bad for your hair. For dye, try Wal*Mart and get Herbal Essences.

okay so i am going to be a freshman in september. i am really scared, whats freshman year like? do the sophmores, juniors and seniors torture you?! what happenes on freshman friday?

another question, how do i make new friends? that might sound like a stupid question but, im shy. how do i become friends with some of the other freshman, sophmores, juniors or seniors? i want high school to be the best years of my life!

I was a freshman 2 years ago, so that makes me a junior, and I had a good freshman year, in my opinion anyways.


Anyways, every school is different, and every school has different people with different opinions. At my school, the upperclassman are kind of brutal to freshman. Freshman Friday actually exists where I go, and a few years back they actually hit a kid while he was getting a drink & he nearly cracked his head open. From then on they cancelled it, but of course kids rebel & don't listen to the rules. I remember my Freshman Friday. The upperclassmen girls were putting NAIR in the girls hair if they had it down, so I had to wear my hair up, and I had REALLY long hair [to my butt] so I was pissed. Other times they threw water balloons & followed us home.


Freshman Friday doesn't exist in some schools, so you may be safe, but I wouldn't worry about it. If it does, they'll play some pranks so try & stay out of their way. They don't really torture you though. Once that's over, they go back to completely ignoring you & hating you. The only reason why they would torture you is if you mess with them or run your mouth. Just mind your business, keep to yourself & don't be an ass & you'll be fine.


It's easy to make friends, just be yourself. Talk to people you think would be interesting. Join clubs & sports. That's a good/easy way to make friends as well. Another way is to just be nice to people. If you're nice, people will be attracted to becoming your friend because you're not stuck up. Sophomores & everyone else might become friends with you, but it all depends. Freshman year for you should be fine. I doubt anything bad will happen, so don't worry.
