Alilash answered Saturday July 14 2007, 11:46 pm: The exact thing just recentencly was happaning to me. It started off where I went to sleep one time very late and woke up late. So that night it was hard to go to sleep and a whole pattern went on and I was having sleep patterns like 3AM to 11PM. Which is not really good. When listening to music, it kinda doesn't work. And reading makes you focused and more awake. Try looking at picture in a magazine or watching a tv thats low in sound. Don't focus on going to sleep because it doesn't work. You'll fall to sleep when your tired. You can't focus ur body to go to sleep. I hope I helped! (zz.zz.. hope you go to sleep!) [ Alilash's advice column | Ask Alilash A Question ]
aworkinprogress answered Saturday July 14 2007, 9:08 pm: here are some tricks on how to fall asleep...
1. don't work out, or do any strenuous activities before you go to sleep. when you do workout b4 you sleep, your body creates edorphins and your body gets a little energy.
2. try drinking sleepy time tea an hour before you sleep.that helps.
3. when you are trying to sleep, imagine you are at the ocean listening to the waves crash on the beach. it makes you feel relaxed.
4. if you stress on falling asleep, you wont fall asleep.
5. you may be stressed out or worrying about something. try making your mind blank by thinking of wat i said about the ocean.
i hope all this helps you out!!!

ask_blondie answered Saturday July 14 2007, 7:06 pm: i have the same exact problem, and it sucks. i would go to your doctor and let them know. you could be possibly stressing out alot lately and thats why you dont sleep well. (alot on your mind) or you could just have a disorder, dont worry its perfectly normal. they will prescribe you a medication to help you sleep =]
Floridagirl1821 answered Saturday July 14 2007, 6:10 pm: I have had this problem before!
Ok, before you go to bed try to be relaxed. (Like a warm bath or hot shower) Try to advoid caffene (sp) after 3PM and doing alot of excersing before you go to bed. Make sure your room is comfortable and if you need to, turn a fan on. Try not to think about anything that bothers you or makes you worry. You can image a peaceful scene, like a beach at sunset or sunrise. Make sure your active during the day so you will be tired at night. Also, try to go to bed around the same time each night.
christina answered Saturday July 14 2007, 3:58 pm: I'm no doctor, but you might have insomnia which a sleeping disorder & it prevents you from sleeping. My friend has it, and sometimes she doesn't sleep for weeks at a time. But her case is pretty extreme.
Anyways, I would see a doctor. It may not be insomnia, but you still never know. Your doctor may prescribe you some sleeping pills so you can fall asleep. [ christina's advice column | Ask christina A Question ]
cOws_in_yOur_tuba answered Saturday July 14 2007, 3:53 pm: Hahah I've got the same stupid problem. There are a few things that I've done that work, but not all the time. You could try laying in bed and just think about something. Like the next day or even create your own story. Listen to music at the same time, but keep it down. That USUALLY helps me, but like I said, not all the time. You could also try exercizing before bed, but like a half hour or an hour beforehand. Don't eat a large meal or have caffeine at least 2 hours beforehand. Also, set your alarm to get up early, like 8 or 9 am. You'll probably be tired, but if you force yourself to get up, you'll most likely be tired by the time you go to bed. If those things don't work, it's ok to watch tv or go on the computer for a bit, but no longer than a half hour. And if all else fails, you could always try nyquil or something of the sort to help you. But if you decide to do that, make sure it's not every night, and only when you really need it.
