Hi all, this is yg. I consider this a question, I am also kind of looking for opinions. I am asking here instead of the mod forum because I'd like answers from those who are mods, and those who may not be yet. There is no right or wrong answer, so please, honest opinions only.

In the last month and a half this question, or a version of this question has come up and it bothers me. 'How can I hide that I have been on advicenators?' I assume it was meant from parents.

I would like to know if others have this problem.

Do you have to hide that you use the site?
If so why?

What do you think would make it acceptable to your parents?

Would you be embarrassed for your parents to see the site?

If so is it because of questions asked?
Questions you've asked? Or just the questions in general?

Has anyone, besides myself, (who talked to both my kids about it), Talked to their parents about BECOMING an advicenator?

I think it is a great way to initiate conversation
about topics you may be embarrassed to discuss with a parent about yourself. I wonder if anyone has done that?

I don't hide that I use this site. I actually show my friends my column and it gets them interested in the site.
I think it is already acceptable to parents- its just that some questions are a little on the inappropriate side and it may cause parents to see this as a bad site.
I am NOT embarrassed at all for my parents to see this site. I actually enjoy telling them stories about it and they really support me with using it.
Some people would consider it embarrassing probably because of what you said- the questions they've asked (mainly- they may be something their parents don't know about).

Some answers are completely insulting to me and this site. They use cuss words and its entirely inappropriate and not something parents would like to see.

I didn't ask permission from my parents about becoming an advicenator- but like I said- they fully support me being on it. My parents see it as me helping people.

For earth day i have to pick something ANYTHING, shoes or hamburger something like that and name the parts like shoes ( shoelaces, material ) hamburger ( bun , meat, lettuce ) and describe where the meat came from( cattle graze )

but i cant think of ANYTHING thats easy enough and i cant find ANY information

Is it really true that people can read your AIM conversations? Because one of my friends told me she was reading mine once but she didn't know how, and then my other friend who doesn't even know my friend (so they couldn't be like pranking me or anything) said that it was possible but she didn't know how. What scares me the most was that I was talking about how my crush had to get off, and he didn't and I said to my friend, "he isn't getting off...omg" He does this sometimes but doesn't say anything..well when I said that to my friend, a few seconds later he IMed me saying he didn't lie and that he'd be getting off... so is this really true that people can read your convos? Is there ANY way to prevent it?!

This is myth. If that were really possible- everyone would know everything about everyone of their friends. AIM doesn't have such a feature.

It happened before but its happened 5 times today.. He threw up in the morning some chicken he had ate! Is it basically just getting out of his system or should i be worried.. Its definitely not blood.. Most of its just regular like Water/ Saliva but its colored like yellowish as usual.. Respond ASAP!

It doesn't seem like much is wrong. However- I'm not a vet- so if you feel really concerned- I would advise that you go see one.
If you don't feel too concerned- then I understand- vets are expensive.

I'm sure it will pass soon enough =]

I think you should wait until you are married- which should be the person you will love and cherish forever- STDs are out there- and just going out having sex with random people bears a high chance for getting one of the many of them out there.
So- yes.. you should wait until marriage!

for earth day i have to pick something like a hamburger and list the pieces ( tomatoes,bun, meat )

Okay, I don't want to hear any statemates such as "you shouldn't have done it". Because I know that it was wrong in the first place.

I had about 4-5 hits of pot, and I don't know when my next drug test will be. I never do drugs, the last time I tried was in the summer and it was only 1 hit. So I don't have much in my system.

My question is how long would it stay in my system, and how can I get it out of my system faster?

There isn't a way to get it out of your system faster- and I believe it stays in your system for a couple days or maybe a few weeks- but almost positive its just a few days.

And yes, you shouldn't have done it- I really hope you make the smart choice next time.

No- you'll just have guilt and then your conscience will build up and you'll feel REALLY guilty.

What does it mean when your lymph nodes are swollen and sore? Mine have been like this all day & the swelling has went down but they're still sore. I asked my mom but she doesn't know what's wrong or how to make it go down. Thanks!

When your lymph nodes swell- it means that they are preparing your White Blood Cells to attack a germ or invader. Though it may cause some pain, its actually a good thing that they are swollen- it means your immune system is working properly.

ive hated my life so much recently and no idea why. i cry and scream and go crazy and lay there and just eat thats my daily plan. what can i do to get it back together? ill do anything.

Find fun things to do. Hang out with friends- go bike riding- eat ice cream while sitting upside down- laugh at random things- play with play-do...
Seriously.. these things may sound ridiculous, but finding fun in boring things and making life seem like a joke is sometimes the best thing to do to keep a positive attitude.

ok so my best friend may like me. im not 100% sure. but since i have thought that he does or hear that he does i cant stop thinking about it. its on my mind 24/7. but like when im thinking about it i think about us going out and i jsut cant picture that so then i start thinking about how we cant go out. like i seriously jsut cant picture him and me together. but im seriously thinking about him all the time but it always ends with me saying wre never going to be. and i think i like him but im not sure. does it seem like i do? he is cute. but hes liek a really big nerd. haha lol. and im not sure im going to want to go out with him. but everyone says we will. and when i think about the prom or talk about it with my friends. their like oh your gonna go with him i know it. and i thin im gonna go with him. i have always said it. but i dont know. im soooo confused.

You're having mixed feelings on this. From what I can see, you really are confused. [EDIT: Stating the obvious here] There are two reasons that people think about other people constantly- and those are:
thinking about them in absolute disgust and hatred
and
Thinking about them because you have an interest in them.

So- because you're continuously thinking about him- I think its safe to assume that you like him. Yes- you may not picture yourself with him, but love is mysterious and unpredictable. If you're willing to, you should ask him if he likes you. Yes- it will be awkward, but it may end up that he likes you and you like him. Then- you may just be the newest couple in town.

Dear Everyone,

how can you tell a guy likes you. i know i should just ask him but i dont really want to unless im sure he actually does.

signs that he likes me?

1. he IMs me first[before i used to IM first]
2. he has nicknames for me [which no one else has]
3. his default pic on his myspace is of me and him together
4. he plays around with me by holding my hand, sitting on my lap, messing with my hair, ect.
5. out of all his friends that are girls, he pays the most attention to me
6. he constantly wants to hang out together and when i have to go he begs me to stay[lol he will hold on to me and not let me go!]
7. he will make certain remarks; did i ever tell you how much i love you?
8. he shares his secrets with me that he has told no one else
9. he hugs me from behind
10. we always get mistaked for being a couple
[the other day a guy came up to me and said someone told him that my friend and i were "together". and when i asked him who told him that he wouldnt tell me. he said he forgot.]

but see the problem with all of this is that i used to like him then i told him and it was a disater because the feelings werent returned. and then i stopped liking him and now i do again. so im not sure about this one.

First- I don't suggest you post your [edit* FULL] name on this site or anywhere on the internet.

Second- I do believe he likes you. When a guy gives you special attention and fiddles with your hair and just enjoys your company, there is a high chance that he likes you. Now no one on this site is capable of telling you exactly how he feels about you- so as you said in the beginning- you should just ask him. He might end up liking you- and it seems that you two already enjoy each other's company.

i had a dream last night that my best friend betrayed me and we weren't friends anymore, what does this mean?

Its hard to interpret dreams, and I doubt that many here on Advicenators know how to. I would assume that it just means that you may be afraid of betrayal by your best friend.

Or then again it may mean that she is about to betray you and stab you in the back- ha only kidding.

okay so i went out with thys guy last summer. we went out for about 3 monthes. we were pretty close and everything but the small things that bugged me about him made me break up with him. then when school started up about 3rd qouater he asked me back out and i was hesitent at first but then i said yes. i started liking him more. but now about 1 month 2 weeks im really doubtin things. anyways my point is that he really likes me. but i hate tht i can say i love you to him but i question myself that if i really mean it. so i dont know what to do..i dont wanna break his heart again.. ughh help?

Yes- you should break up with him. I was in pretty much the same situation as you. However, she broke up with me, then I realized I still liked her (don't know why) but then I asked her out again- and she said yes because she "made a big mistake" in breaking up with me. Then little annoyances caused me to break up with her- and also the fact that I didn't feel right saying I love you- we're only teenagers. So- I broke up with her. Yes- I "broke her heart"- but hearts heal. I suggest, after going through what I did- that you break up with him. But- you need to be completely honest when breaking up with him. Yes- he may turn it all around and say that you lied to him and used him (because that's what she did) but you know the truth that you liked him- but are just having doubts- and that is PERFECTLY natural for a teenager. Don't feel bad about breaking up with someone- its bound to happen eventually in your life.
