Why is it that TV shows and movies make the smart kids look ugly and the pretty kids be stupid? That's so not the way it is. In my school, the prettiest people are athletic, smart and beautiful. At least two-thirds of our Honors classes are beautiful. Is it like that everywhere else? I mean, I know smart kids that are ugly, but I also know athletic kids who are ugly too. If that's the way it is, then why do people assume smart people are ugly/nerdy? Or why beautiful people aren't smart enough to do anything? Where did everyone get this stereotype?

UGH! I feel the same way as you. Just because you're smart doesn't mean you're ugly. I mean, I'm smart.. and I certainly wouldn't consider myself "ugly" although I'm certainly not "hot" or "sexy"... lol.

Don't let stereotypes discourage you. Stereotypes are an overall MISJUDGMENT of a group of people.

I'm on my friends myspace pg and I just noticed right near where it says "view all of bla bla blas friends" there is a button that says "mutual" what does mutual mean? And how come I don't have it?

Mutual means friends you have in common. So if you clicked that button- it would show you a list of people you and your friend have in common.

You don't have it on your page- because your mutual friends with yourself are your friends, obviously =D

I don't know what to do anymore. I'm stressing over everything in my life. Especially about school. I'm constantly distracted about what's going on around school rather than my work. There's a lot of drama going on right now in school and I'm trying my hardest to stay away from it all but I just don't know how to anymore. I hate stressing over things that don't even matter or involve me. How can I be stress free about stuff not important to me? How can I handle stress ? I want to get away from everything but I just don't know how.

Take a breath.

Relax. Sounds like you could use it.

Cut back on a little bit of social interaction. Seriously- sometimes talking to people when you're stressed isn't the best thing to do. If you maybe stay at home this weekend and just take naps here and there, you should be fine.

Everyone has stress. You're not the only one. If I told you that you were- well you should probably slap me in the face. Some people are just better at managing stress. Some people aren't. Personally- I bring stress to me- so I'm probably not the best person to ask on how to deal with it- because I just pile on a bunch of things to do- and somehow it always works out. Somehow I've maintained a 4.0 thusfar.. and that is with extra-curricular activities that keep me at school until 9pm... thankfully the play is over now.. but haha.

Anyway- my point is.. if you notice that any of your friends aren't as stressed as you- ask them how they cope with stress. Maybe they have a special time in the day where they just sit and stare at the wall for a half hour. Maybe they do all of their homework right when they get home and then sleep. Who knows. I'm making this up off the top of my head.
Ask your friends- I'm sure they can help- If I haven't helped at all =D

I'm going to give you a list of what guys tend to do when they like girls:

1. They don't call you "sexy". They call you "beautiful", "gorgeous", "amazing", etc.

2. They make an effort to hug you. They might high-5 instead, but it really depends on the guy in question.

3. They DO find any reason to touch you in some way. Mostly it ISN'T in a sexual way. Its more of just an excuse to remember what you feel like, I guess. Its hard to explain...

4. He is always smiling around you. If you're feeling bad and he's around- he'll be smiling because he knows that he's there to help you- and that's like brownie points for a guy if they can help a girl out. That, like the above, is hard to explain.

5. He'll tell you things about himself that he normally wouldn't tell everyone. He opens up to you. Guys don't get a chance to do that when pressured to "be manly".

6. If you have a feeling that a guy likes you- you're probably right. Guys aren't the best at hiding it- and girls are even better at figuring these type of things out.

If you like this guy- and he does all or most of those things- my best bet is that he does like you. That means one and only one thing: Ask him to make sure, and then try the relationship out. Who knows- it could be great!

Ok well this is the first time I'm going to my best friend's house and we've been best friends for years.

We've been discussing what we're going to do at her house and stuff but, she keeps mention-ing about what time i'm going to go home.

her brother just really dislikes me, i don't know why but he does and she wants me out of the house before he gets home.

it's not like he's going to kill me. She invites her friends to her house all the time, her brother doesn't like them either and he doesn't do anything so why do you think she's making a big deal?

Is there something between the lines that I'm missing?

Does she jsut don't want mt coming to her house?

Maybe she doesn't like me anymore?

Am i overanalyzing the situation?

I bet you anything its the latter option.

Honestly- she probably just doesn't want her brother to overreact with one of her friends there. Its probably not a big deal at all, seriously.

First- I'm going to tell you that relationships aren't all they are cracked up to be. Sure- they are fun having someone to share things with and be with. But they involve a huge commitment and if you end up with someone who is clingy- they'll want to be with you every minute of every day- and you might not have time for friends or anything else you want to do. I say this because my ex-girlfriend was sort of like that- and got mad if I was busy with other plans.. and it was just really retarded. I haven't had a girlfriend since then [last December, I believe].

Anyway- the best way to attract a guy is to be yourself. If you try to change yourself just to get a boyfriend [especially at your age]- you'll just end up with someone who only likes you for what you've become- not who you are. If you be yourself- and don't change- you'll attract more guys who actually care about your personality rather than just your looks.

I myself like any type of girl. I honestly don't judge looks as much as I do personality. If a girl is absolutely stunningly beautiful, but she's a bitch- why would I like her? What would our relationship be? What would we talk about? Her latest hair extensions? Yeah- that would be REALLY nice *Sarcasm: Party of one!*...
If a girl has a really nice personality- and she's really outgoing and sweet and nice and smart- and she's not necessarily the best looking girl- but she's not super unattractive- then I'll most likely want to date her over the beautiful bitch.

Do you get what I'm saying? If you let guys see your personality more than your looks- you'll end up with someone great. Trust me- most guys prefer personality over looks- they just don't know it yet =].

If I block someone, will they be able to send me inbox messages? We've been having a conversation through the inbox, so if I block them, will they be able to still send me messages? I'm not friends with them on facebook.

If no, is there ANY way to stop her from sending me inboxes?

I'm assuming that blocking her would prevent her from sending you messages, but I'm not entirely sure.

Just delete the messages and don't respond to them, if that be the case.

okay so theres this guy.
and he is really sweet, and ive grown to like him alot. but we dont really talk to each other, other than in the hall at school. but for some reason i like him. and im pretty sure he DOESNT like me, cuz we dont know each other that welll.
but he walked me to class on thursday, and he talks to me about really personal stuff.
so what should i do to see if he likes me....
besides ask him, its kinda to early for that.

From experience- the best way to do so is to have an ambassador- like a close friend you two share. Have them ask him who he likes- and if he says you- well then there's your answer. Or- your friend could ask "Do you like [your name here]?" and if they said yes- they might.. but the first way is probably the best way to find out without getting your name involved much.

Other than that- I seriously would just wait. If you come on too strong with hints- he may get suspicious and get weirded out or something. I don't suggest you act any different. This is coming from a guy with experience on stuff like this- it doesn't always end well.

I think it really depends on the internship in question, although I think most are for college students only.

If you're a high school student- then I suggest you ask the boss of the company or whatever which he prefers. If it doesn't matter- go for it. It looks nice on a college application.

right basically i feel kind of pathetic asking this question becuase most people will have known what they wanted to do but, i dont know what i want to be when im older. and here iv got to apply for 6th form and everyone is going you need to choose the courses related to the job you want. i havent decided though, i think thats alot of pressure to be honest and i need some help deciding so does anyone have any tips on helping me decide ill list a few of my attribute:
i do alot of sport
i keep fit
im good at most subjects
i love flying fly
my strongest subjects are :
maths
science (biology,chemestry,atomic structure)
p.e
i have a btech diploma in sport
i.c.t and buisness studies

my weakest subjects are :
english litriture
forces in science
and forieng languages

the jobs i have considered are these:
pilot either commercial or royal air force
physio therapist
fitness trainor
personal trainor
and accountant

i know that is a long message and is very complicated but if anyone has any tips for helpin me decide that would be great or any other suitable jobs for my attributes that would also be great thanks very much.

It sure sounds to me like you want to have a physical job. I suggest taking gym-oriented courses and such. I'm not sure what classes each career requires, but I'm sure if you look up that career, you could find what courses are required.

If you do a lot of sports and you're in shape- you might as well be a fitness trainer. But the real question isn't whether you're good at that or not- the real question is whether you enjoy that a lot.

Do something you know you'll love to do. If you think you'd be good at being a pilot or whatever- that doesn't mean you have to do it. Just be what you think will make you come home at night and say "Hey! I had a lot of fun at work today!". If you find yourself not saying that- its time to find a new career =D.

so I have this huge test. and I keep on studying for it. I've been studying for the past 3 days. Yet, there's still so much more to study. I feel like I have no rest, and I'm only 15 years old...Weekends are supposed to be rest - not work. What should I do? I feel tired of studying. I feel like nothing else will go in my head. =/ I'm pretty sure I know the general idea of the test...and if I get a bad grade, I could still finish off decent in that class. I'm so lost. If you're in a situation like this, do you continue to kill yourself studying..orr..do you stop and rest and just "forget about it"? people aren't robots =/ schools should know that, shouldn't they?

Well as Laura did an EXCELLENT job of answering most of the question already, I don't have much to add, but I will reinforce a few things and add a bit.

I am always in this situation. Honestly, I do continue to kill myself over it because that's just the type of person I am. I can't stand getting anything lower than an A and I will not settle for less than my best. Granted, I don't advise you stress as much as I do unless you're like me in trying to be your class valedictorian. I'm pretty anal when it comes to grades. Ask any of my friends. But- that doesn't mean you have to kill yourself over it. But I also don't suggest you just "forget about it" because that is really dumb.

It does sound to me like you actually care about your grades, either that or you're looking for the answers to your test on here [which is completely outlandish]. I would say you're not the latter person. Anyway- you should do what Laura suggested and study about a 1/2 hour each night from now until the test. But I believe you should take a break tonight and just relax. Sounds like you need it. I do too =/.

Making flash cards actually does help- and so does making up little songs. For Chemistry, I had to memorize the elements of the periodic table, and I actually make tiny songs for segments of it- and lo and behold- I got an A on the tests. Sometimes I still hear the songs =P.

I'm pretty sure your teachers are aware that you're busy with school and life in general, but how would you feel if you had absolutely no work, no challenge in school? Bored, I bet you anything. If you didn't have work to keep you on your toes, how would you ever accomplish anything ever again?

Here's a good example of this:
I have a friend who is a swimmer. During swim season, he has barely any time to do homework, so he learned how to get everything done. When swim season was over, his grades dropped from As to Cs. Yeah- so because he didn't have something that caused him to do homework in a short time, he felt like he had all the time in the world- and slacked off. So to answer your question- there is a reason you are crammed with millions of assignments at once. How else would you prepare for college?

From now on, when you find out about a test, start studying that night. Even if the test is two weeks down the line. Studying each night for 15-20 minutes is much better than studying for 2 hours the night before. Any teacher will tell you that. This is the reason you know about most tests a week or more in advance.

When you're studying or doing homework, take one break every 1/2 hour. Get up from your work space and go outside for a few minutes, get a drink of water, watch TV for like 5 minutes- anything that will take your mind off of your work. This way, having a few breaks while doing homework everyday will feel less stressful. If you sit in one place and study for 3 hours straight and then have a 1/2 hour break- it isn't as effective as taking six 5-minute breaks in between, got it? Also- if you're feeling like you want to keep going with a certain subject, then go until you finish that homework. Taking a break between each subject is also fine =D.

Well when I was walking home from school today I found this chip thingy on the ground. It's blue and on the front it say San Disk and 1.0 GB. Is it some kind of computer memory card chip? If it is how can I use it? Will it be useful to me? And can it like help with computer gaming like reduce lag?

That is a memory card. Most likely for a camera. It stores pictures, and I don't think anything else. I'm not sure if you would be able to put it to use unless you have a digital camera.

There's this guy and he's my friend but I don't know if we're really that close because we just met like a week ago from shcool.

He's kinda weird and today he randomly went up to me and hugged me and we said like two things to each other while he was with me and my friends.
