I'm a freshman , and I've been searching online for good colleges and i just need someone who attended or have seen CUNY : Brooklyn College to tell me is it good or bad ? , and does it have Computer Science ?
xx-me-xx answered Friday July 11 2014, 4:15 pm: Hey there!
Well, I've also been researching colleges and luckily I did do a search on Brooklyn College.
First of all, if you're into the city then I think you'll like it. It's pretty much in the middle of everything so if you'd prefer a smaller, quiet College then this is not for you. I think you, as a student, make the College good or bad.
I haven't been to CUNY or actually seen it, other than pictures, but just knowing it's in a very busy area should be enough to answer your questions. And it does have a Computer and Information Science Department, and it is actually one of the largest in metropolitan New York.
Keep a list of pros and cons of each College you're interested in so you can be organized!

I did not attend a University in New York. I did go to an Engineering School in California and cannot really give you much information on CUNY. Do not worry too much about good or bad. They are all tough colleges. Follow the steps to apply or visiting some campuses. Heck, if you live close visit some colleges and talk to students one on one. That's what I would do. Best of luck!
BLONDShorty answered Sunday July 6 2014, 8:00 am: After a quick search, I saw that they do have computer science. There's also no such thing as a good school or a bad school. You have to pick a school that is right for you. best wishes xoxo [ BLONDShorty's advice column | Ask BLONDShorty A Question ]
glasses answered Friday July 4 2014, 3:50 am: Hey there! Good for you that you are already looking for colleges. Well, I honestly had no idea what Brooklyn College was until now. No I don't know anyone who attended that college. But here's something important you should know. As you grow older, you will change what you want to become and what college you truly want to be in over the four year high school period. For now, don't focus on colleges, and instead focus on school and grades. Once all that matches up around your Junior year, you will find the right college that will help you and support you. Don't go for the cooler name brand colleges like Yale or Harvard, or the one all of your friends are going to. But for someone like you, don't think too big yet. I can guarantee you that you will have other ideas of what you truly want to be later and what college will make you truly successful. Don't stress yet! Ask me for any other advice you need.

I would just look into it, make some calls and see if it would be something you would want to pursue that particular college. Good luck dear, the future is bright! fortylove answered Friday June 27 2014, 10:27 am: I'm sorry, I didn't attend either of these schools but I think your best bet is to visit the schools yourself and talk to random people on campus, sit in on courses and do an overnight visit to see if you really like it. Contact admissions offices and see if they can put you in touch with a student. [ fortylove's advice column | Ask fortylove A Question ]
littlesky9 answered Thursday June 26 2014, 2:18 pm: ooh sorry I have no knowledge of colleges, but then again, how about phoning and asking said college ask if they have a computer science class...yet what constitutes a "good college"? perhaps you could ask one college that you phone.."Hi Iam looking for a good college,LOL and yada yada,or how about picking a couple and visiting them...or go to that town and ask around ,but Iam guessing that's out of the question, these college are possibly far away, and you have neither money or time....on second thought, I guess more internet searches,or better yet phone a bookstore like barnes and nobles and asking if they have a reference book on colleges...right? or high school counselers, would they know "good colleges" good luck.sign me,I never finished high school, but I sound intelligent...yes? pseudophun answered Thursday June 26 2014, 11:42 am: They offer a BA in Computer Science... and the school is accredited... and it has a lovely campus. So it's not a bad choice.
When looking for a college, school advisers say the phrase, "a good fit" a lot. What that means is that you need to see if the college fits you.
I started at a large state school, and it wasn't a good fit. My adviser in high school had told me it probably wouldn't be... and I hate the fact she was correct. Later I did an online college, and that didn't work. I ended up graduating from a small private college. It offered what I wanted academically, as well as socially and financially.
CUNY is great. Go take a campus visit. But have some other options, too. Even a couple you don't think you really want (like the University of Wisconsin or something...) just to see. Pick a couple party schools, a couple acadamia schools... find somewhere you'll be happy for 4+ years. Many schools offer Computer Science... ellekaay answered Thursday June 26 2014, 9:19 am: Hello there! I'm sorry but I've never attended CUNY Brooklyn College because I'm living in another area. According to my research, however, I discovered that it does offer a Computer and Information Science program. I also checked yelp.com to see what type of reviews it received any many of them were mixed. Some good, some bad. You should go on yelp to read the reviews yourself to determine if it is the college you'd like to attend.

ieatjello answered Thursday June 26 2014, 9:08 am: Freshman in high school? Glad you're starting early then! Anyways, I'm not attending that school but I did visit the school while I was in New York. Yes, it is a good school, but I personally didn't really feel like it was the school for me. Go and visit the school for yourself because everyone has a different opinion. Yes the college has computer science. You can google the school and find out more about the programs they have to offer. Generally, the majors they provide are listed under the "Academics" tab so go check it out. [ ieatjello's advice column | Ask ieatjello A Question ]
