AskCollegeGirl answered Wednesday February 3 2010, 8:22 pm: If drinking green tea lets you lose 10lbs in a month then I'd be anorexic! LOL! Green tea has a ton of antioxidants & anti-aging agents. But the only kernal of truth to that is by drinking something other than soda will help you lose weight! Nothing can ever really help you burn fat only a way to curb your hunger. Personally I don't prefer straight green tea. I have orange, peppermint, ginger, etc teas so choose whatever you like. And being vegetarian helps a lot because my housemate is a vegan and she wants to gain weight! So diet plans really don't help but if you want to lose some changes to what you already eat like switching from Vit D milk to 2% or skim, eat slowly between bites, etc. Diets don't work but lifestyle changes do!
Juxtapose answered Saturday January 23 2010, 11:20 pm: All I know about green tea is that it is a great way to cleanse your body. To lose weight we actually have to eat more but in smaller portions. The more we eat, the more our body metabolizes or burns the fat we have. But if we eat less then it keeps whatever nutrient we have and therefore stores the fat more. So my best advice to you is eat 4 - 5 times a day but in smaller portions. Eat brown rice instead of white because you stay full longer. Drink lots of water. it really depends on your height, body mass and such to really determine if you will lose 10pounds in a month but if you do these things i can guarantee that you will lose pounds. just_ask_me answered Saturday January 23 2010, 11:10 pm: I don't really know any diet "plans" necessarily, but I do not what to cut out in terms of losing weight. If you drink soda or juice, take it out completely. I stopped drinking soda & all kinds of juice for a month and lost 5 lbs... but then again, I ate junk food and fattening food. So imagine cutting that out! Green tea is good for your body, but honestly, I haven't heard anything about it being a way to burn fat.. but then again, I wouldn't be surprised if it was true. So I'd continue with drinking green tea. Lots of water helps the body lose weight too. The best diet plan I can give you is to cut out soda completely, limit fattening foods (cake, cookies, buttery foods, chips). Don't eat after 8, because the fat builds around then since it's night time. Being a vegetarian also is a biggie! Keep up the good work. :) [ just_ask_me's advice column | Ask just_ask_me A Question ]
easilyfixed answered Saturday January 23 2010, 10:43 pm: hey - i'm a vegetarian too and i actually found that it was a lot easier to loose weight when i became one, mainly because i already ate pretty healthy as it is.
green tea does wonders for you. all you really need to do is boil some water, put a tea bag in a mug, add the water, and let it sit. it raises your metabolism, clears your skin, and keeps you awake! aim for around three cups a day. preferably in the morning so you can get some sleep!
other than tea - i'll tell you what my diet plan consists of:
breakfast: plain oatmeal with flax seeds (grind them in a grinder) and slices of banana on top. skim milk on the side.
** flax seeds are really good for vegetarians. they contain omega 3's, something we apparently lack of if we're not eating right!
snack: greek yogurt (has a ton of protein, usually around 12 grams per serving). with an apple or some type of fruit.
lunch: marinated tofu (usually at health food), carrots, spinach, and bean sprouts in a whole wheat wrap.
snack: low fat cottage cheese with honeydew melon or some type of fruit.
dinner: whole grain bun with veggie or "unchicken" burger. have half a plate of vegetables for a side.
**also remember to stay hydrated.
i would suggest getting the book "skinny bitch". i actually borrowed it from my library - but it's a vegan diet, easily a vegetarian diet. it has good tips on how you should eat and you drop weight pretty fast. [ easilyfixed's advice column | Ask easilyfixed A Question ]
sia answered Saturday January 23 2010, 10:26 pm: nice your vegetarian so you dont have to worry about meat because meats your biggest problem.thats what makes most people gain wieght.
green tea is good to drink after your meals because it makes that food you eat faster so in result makes it come out of your system faster which means it wont get stored as fat.do you eat fish??Tuna is good to eat as well as salmon and shrimp!the main thing is to stay away from those oily foods and eat natural things.aim to eat Low GI foods so thats your brown bread(but not to much of that because bread has starch which can make you bloated)brown rice, brown spagette just everything thats brown and organic.please read the ingredients because soemtimes food industries just colour their products brown as a scam.
Stay away from drinking full fat milk, drink soy milk.Tofu is really good to eat...im sure you can find some vegetarian low fat recipes on google..things like sushi is nice and healthy too.remember to eat 4hours before you go to sleep.that should be your last meal.have a big breakfast that will keep you going throughout then aim to eat at around 3pm as a late lunch and at around 6 or 7pm should be your last meal.this meal should be very light and should not have too much carbs like bread and rice etc because theyr what store as fat in your body.make sure that you drink plain green tea(without sugar or honey) after every meal.Drink water not juice or fizzy drinks. try to fit in some exercise4 or 5 times a week.joggin is really good, sprinting is even better!hope this helps [ sia's advice column | Ask sia A Question ]

Green Tea is wonderful to lose weight, and it's strange that you're asking me, because I'm on the Green Tea Diet right now!!
Okay.. here's the rules to obey by. NO soda, juice, or regular ice teas.
Go get Lipton Green Tea with citrus. (80 calories and really good)
Also, go to CVS or Rite Aid. There are pill supplements as low as $7, but as high as $20. Make sure the one you chose is all natural, and SAFE. The one I use is GREEN T.
Diets are like animals.. the more legs the animal has, the worse it is for you. Stay clear of the pigs and cows, and stick with the fish and turkey.. though you don't have to worry about that too much being a vegetarian.
Down a bottle of water before EVERY meal. It fills your stomach so that you eat less.
No snacks after 8pm. You stomach shuts down with the calories left over from the day.
Also, Crystal light makes these powdered packets that you drop into regular water. They have hardly any calories in them and they're really, really good. [ AskKay23's advice column | Ask AskKay23 A Question ]

ellen537 answered Saturday January 23 2010, 7:12 pm: No, I am sorry, I don't. I have bought green tea before and drank it for health benefits, but never to lose weight. I'm one of those people who don't really have to worry too much about weight, so I probably am not a good person to ask about that. Have you tried Googling green tea fat burner or something like that? Someone I know told me fiber helps you lose weight and fills you up and they are taking Benefiber in their drinks three times a day, but not sure if it is working.
blwinteler answered Saturday January 23 2010, 6:35 pm: I'll be honest, I don't know much about a good diet plan for a vegetarian. I'm accustomed to plans high in protein, particularly lean meats. I do know green tea is supposed to help, but I'm not sure how much.
10 lbs in a month is a reachable goal, but in general losing more than 2 lbs in a week is not good for your body, so I wouldn't recommend it for more than a month.
The most important this is to keep your diet balanced and has variety, and watch portion size. As a vegetarian, you will want to look for other sources of protein, as protein supports your muscle growth. Muscle growth increases your metabolism, which allows you to lose weight easier.
Make sure you stay active, try to get at least 30 minutes of exercise every day. Like the diet, your exercise program should have variety. Try to include both strength training exercises (squats, crunches, weights, etc) to build muscle and aerobic exercises (jogging, jumping jacks, swimming) to bring up your heart rate and burn calories.
Also very important is to drink a lot of water. This may be where green tea comes in handy. It support metabolism while keeping you hydrated. Having plenty of water (minimum of a liter per 50 lbs body weight, more is better) will help flush out fats. It will also keep you from feeling hungry, so you can keep your portion sizes down.
I hope that helps. [ blwinteler's advice column | Ask blwinteler A Question ]
