I think it is a bad influence on the youngsters, because then they will think that its ok to have sex at an early age and get pregnant. But many people have sex at age 16 and even younger, and i dont think that we can change that. Sure, it was a slutty thing to do, and many people will think that she is following the steps of Britany, but it was her choice.
Hope I Helped <3

I think it makes her look seriously slutty but wat ever if you love someone then you'll probly have sex but I think it was stupid of her to not use a condom but you never know maybe she needed a break from all of the stressing work and that was the only way she could get a break. And honestly if your stupid enough not to wear a condom then you shouldnt be having sex at all.

A little shocked, but it happens. And it's been happening all over the world. So many girls right now who are in their teens, (such as me) are getting pregnant, I have quite a bit of my friends who are too. So the teen pregnancy rate is rising, but I think it is all about taking responsibility for your own actions and acknowledge the possible consequences for your own actions. If your mature enough to know the consequences then you can be considered a responsible person. Do I think its a bad influence? No, because in my opinion, I think that people are entitled to their own actions, they react on their own, and I think that what happened (since this is public & is also the first time I've ever seen a young star pregnant) that maybe kids can actually learn from this. If other people see what kind of mistakes other people make maybe people will take initiative to avoid making the same mistake the other person did. So I think people can actually learn from this. :)

yes, what she did was irresponsible. but look around over half the teens in the world are having sex. in some cultures their even grandmothers, she didnt mean to get pregnant. she could have easily avoided it but i believe you guys are selling her short for being a spears. her sister was a disaster, but most teens do have sex. its a fact. yeah im all for abstaining but where i go to school most girls loose it as freshman, so shes just being a teenager. so really people should cut her a little slack. and i bet many of you lost your virginity when you were about 16 its not a big deal. look at V. Hudgens she poses nude! and Miley Cyrus is supposedly preg. and shes 15. and she takes pics. in her bra and underwear. people need to calm down, just cause shes a spears doesnt mean shes like her sister.

I was shocked when I heard the news, but I do feel sympathy for her. So many girls are getting pregnant as teens, she is in the spotlight and it must be very difficult for her to deal with. Of course its a bad influence, but parents should teach children to not look up to celebrities so much. I was reading someones response to an article about it, and she claims "at least my 11 year old still has miley to look up to" I think parents should be encouraging children to be independant, not copy celebrities, and teach them good morals. thats my opinion

I, myself, am about the age of 16. I couldn't even imagine going through what she is. Yeah, she did just lose a HUGE thing with Nickalodean and respect of many viewers, but even more than that, she has to worry about bringing a life into this world. No, it's not a good influence, but all anybody else can do or say is to hope that she doesn't end up like her older sister.

I agree with Theymos and Matt, below.
People get pregnant and have children everyday, even at her age and younger. Just because she's "famous" and in the public eye, she gets a lot more attention, and people talk a heck of a lot more about her.

I don't think it's sad, I'm not happy for her, it makes no difference to me or anybody else except her and her family.
I also don't think it's right for us to judge her, either, because it's her life and she's handling it responsibly enough.

I think that its very sad, and she is throwing away her life. Its a bad influence, becasue basically shes gonna ruin the rest of her career. She can't do her Zoey 101 anymore, so shes throwing away a sweet deal with Nickalodean. Also, since her main audience is Nickalodean children, its a bad influence.

My opinion is that I don't care. People get pregnant every day, many under 18. This will do nothing to affect the world. Britney Spears hasn't done anything in a long time, and Jamie Lynn Spears hasn't ever done anything. Everyone should just forget about all of this.

MAK answered Friday December 28 2007, 2:12 am:
I think that the fact the Spears is pregnant will normalize the whole "pregnant at 16" thing. What probably upset me the most about this whole ordeal was the reaction of the producers of Zoey 101 or whatever that show is called. They do not critic Jamie Lynn for becoming pregnant, although I'm sure she's getting enough harsh words thrown at her, I think they should have reprimanded her for the sake of the young girls watching the show. Something along the lines of "we are very disappointed in Jamie Lynn Spear's acts and she will no longer be representing Zoey 101" would have been more appropriate, in my opinion.

But perhaps it will encourage teens to use protection if they decide to become sexually active.

Oh, and I would like to add that although I admire her decision for keeping the baby instead of getting an abortion, I think she should give it up for adoption. The Spears family is most certainly lacking in brains, and most likely a brain lacking mother will bring up a brain lacking child.

Sima answered Friday December 28 2007, 1:46 am:
Honestly, I was shocked to the extent where I called all of my friends and told the immediately. I mean this is JAMIE LYNN, sweet, all American, Christian, girl next door, from Zoey 101 [of all things]. First it's Vanessa Hudgen's pictures and now this. I was watching E! when they had a clip of Britney looking as shocked as ever when she found out that her little sis was pregnant. I can't even imagine the embarrassment that her mother has to go through. First, Mama Spears is dealing with Britney and her wild child behavior, but Jamie Lynn is merely 16, not even a legal adult yet. This has been poor for her reputation and her image as the better sister. Might I mention Ms. Lohan? Anyone remember the picture of the frazzled Lindsay sitting in the passenger seat with her mouth hanging open? She too was a Disney star. These girls need to get themselves in check before they completely lose it.

i think it's a really bad influence on youngsters. so many young children watch zoey 101 and they idolize jamie lynn spears. if they see that she is pregnant they will think it's okay for a 16 year old to get pregnant. it's definetly not okay. i mean 16 year olds do have sex, that's a known fact. but she should have been responsible enough to prevent getting pregnant. i like jamie lynn spears though. i think she just had bad guidance and she doesn't really know what the correct way to behave is. i think she made a bad choice by keeping the baby though. she's ruining her life by being a teen mom. she has so much more to do in life before she is ready to be a mother. if she's against abortion she should have just given it up for adoption.

Matt answered Friday December 28 2007, 1:27 am:
First, I think someone from Seventeen Magazine would use capitals when writing down a person's name.

Second, kids see that the public and media is crucifying their idol for being pregnant. How would that make kids go, "Hey, my favorite actress is pregnant, I should get pregnant too!"?

Her being pregnant will have little to no bad influence on youngsters.

I think she should have gotten an abortion. I mean, put yourself in the eyes of the baby! Do you want to have a young mother who is being criticized by [almost] everyone?
I also think that her pregnancy was also just a cry out for attention. I had completely forgotten Britney Spears had a sister before Jamie was all over the news!
I think Jamie was aiming for a more mature look by not getting an abortion, but I think it is childish to use a baby to gain the spotlight once more.
Jamie should have used another way to make herself more noticeable!

Hope I helped!

i think it's good that she's going to take care of this baby and not abort it or put the child up for adoption. but it's also bad because some 16 year olds who idolize her might get the idea that it's ok to have sex and live wwith your boyfriend
