I'm 13/f and I was talking online with a friend, who he is 17. We have alot in common and stuff, so he asked me out. I was just wondering, what do you think is the maximum age difference? I really like this guy, and if he was my age, I would go out with him without question, but, is this age different ok?
Thanks in advance.
bitterxsweet answered Friday July 28 2006, 10:34 pm: Honestly, it just depends on the guy. I went out with a guy who was 18, and it wasnt that big of a deal because he was a good guy. on the other hand, we barely lasted a few weeks. You kno what the main focus is in a guy's brain when they're that age.. so if you do go out with him, just be rlly careful & dont let him pressure you into anything. look at his past relationships & see how old most of them were & why they ended. if he was being controlling & trying to talk them into doing stuff, its not a good idea to go out with him. if he's gone out with mostly younger ppl like yourself tho, he could just like younger girls because of the whole "maturity level" thing. it could be that he rlly does like you for you, you just never kno so be careful if you do go out with him. if your mom/older sister/any one like that knows him, ask them what they think of him, it could rlly help. good luck! this guy, this guy could be some rapist killer sick child molester freak, so be careful! Go out with him, but bring a friend with you because he could try something that you don't want, so bring along a buddy! [ playboy_bunny911's advice column | Ask playboy_bunny911 A Question ]
pRcHuLa answered Friday July 28 2006, 3:39 pm: boys that age only want one thing wit a gurl ur age i think that maximum age diff should be 2-2 1/2 maybe 3 that a big age difference it's goin to be hard to compete with that maturity level n if he seems the same level as you that even worse that a 17 year old boy wit a maturity stsus of a 13 year old which isnt good because that sayin deep down inside he'll always act like a little boy [ pRcHuLa's advice column | Ask pRcHuLa A Question ]

elipongo answered Friday July 28 2006, 12:49 pm: No, this age difference is not okay.
The four years between thirteen and seventeen are a lot bigger than the four years between, for example, twenty and twenty-four.
A boy that age is probably looking at girls that much younger than himself for their sexual naivete. He'd likely want to take advantage of your inexperience.
I should also point out that if you two were to have sexual contact, he would be guilty of Statutory Rape in most states.
It's okay to be friends with someone who's older, but the fact that he asked you out says he's after something else.
abercrombie13 answered Friday July 28 2006, 11:54 am: age does matter he is to old and have you seen a pic. of him if not he could be a murder or somthing he could really be 38 looking for girls your age i am 13 and i dated a guy online and he said he was 14 and he turned out to be 28 it is bad go out with someone you know like at your school but online is not a good choice to make!!!
fantasmatranoi answered Friday July 28 2006, 9:35 am: In my opinion, age difference really doesn't matter. It might seem to be a big age gap while you're in your teens, but as you get older it won't make as much difference. Though, have you met him in real life? When talking to people on the internet, and involving yourself with someone like this you should be really careful. Not everyone is who they say they are, no matter how much proof you think you've had. (One of my friends went out with a guy who after four months told her he/she was infact a girl, and had been doing it for a joke. My friend was totally heartbroken). naturally_sadie answered Friday July 28 2006, 9:11 am: Hey, I'm 13 and I was dating a guy who was 17 also. It didn't work out so well because he started buttering me up saying he loves me and cares and respects me, and then the next day he wants to go to the movies with me and I have no problem with that but then he asks me to go further then making out and he wants me to give him a hand job at the movies and then he wanted to finger me. I told him that I'm not ready for the kind of stuff, and he dumped me right as soon as I said that. It was obvious all he wanted was stuff like sex. I'd be careful because hes 17 and probably alot more advanced and he could be one of those guys like my ex boyfriend. I'm curious to know why he can't find a girl his own age. He might be a nice guy who is completely innocent, but I would really watch out and make sure he doesn't try to make a move on you. I'm going to guess your still a virgin, so if he even starts talking about sexual things please tell him no and even if he dumps you because of that, you know he never really loved you. And if he tells you he loves you and you mean the world to him and he never wants to let you go, don't always believe it. Don't believe anything he says until he shows it. Anyone can say they love you, so make sure he really means it before you go further with the relationship. To find out if he really likes you or just wants sex, I would go on a couple of dates like out to the movies or go to the mall or even have him come over to your house. If he doesn't do anything sexual or even try to reach down your shirt or pants, then I think you can trust him and kinda be able to say that he really does love you. Even ask him if hes a virgin but like get onto the topic before asking him it like say "____ (name) lost her virginity last thursday" wait for him to answer and ask "wait so are you a virgin? lol" and wait for his answer. If hes a virgin you might be ok. Just find out if he really loves you before you do anything, because if you don't you will really really regret it. My friend still sobs over giving in when her boyfriend asked her to have sex with him. She was unlucky and had the baby and now shes 13 and has to take care of her baby. So be careful and go on a few dates and find out what hes like before you do anything else.
Igotamonopoly answered Friday July 28 2006, 6:45 am: The rule is generally half your age plus seven. So he should be dating someone who's 15 and a half, and you should be dating someone 13 and a half, according to the rule.
LoveNJstyle answered Friday July 28 2006, 1:06 am: welllll i guess it's just a number but i think it'd be ok unless he only wants to be with you for the wrong reasons. i don't know the guy so i don't know what he's like and all. ask someone that knows him or your mom and see what they have to say about it because if she doesnt like him, you probably won't see each other often and where's the fun in that? you have my blessing tho. <3 [ LoveNJstyle's advice column | Ask LoveNJstyle A Question ]
