the only way you can tell if someone is your true friend if they are there for you no matter what happenes if your in a jam they will help thats how you can tell if people are your true friends

To me: A true friend is someone who is always there for you, completely honest with you, makes you smile and laugh when you need it the most, always has a shoulder to cry on, has a ton of memories with you, and never talk about you behind you back or backstab. =] ♥

You know if someone is your friend if they treat you well. Are they bossy? Do they ignore you when other friends are around? That is how you know. If they treat you like that you know that you no that they're not a true friend. No questions asked.

They accept you as a person.
They dont use you just to gain popularity, money boyfriends, or anything else.
They contribute to the friendship just as much as you..call you and make plans.
They like to be around you.

Hmm. Tricky question actually. I'd say there are a few key things to look for in a true friend.

- They can be honest with you, and not make things up to impress you or make you feel bad or make themselves look better.

- They can be open with you, and share themselves with you, knowing that you won't laugh or judge them.
<BR/>
<BR/>
- They allow you to be open and honest with them. You feel safe and comfortable enough with them to tell them whatever you like, knowing they won't judge you, laugh at you, or tell anyone else.

- They can always make you laugh.
<BR/>
<BR/>
- You can spend hours with them, just chilling and chatting, and still have a great time without having to do anything in particular.

- They know when you want to talk about something, and when to just give you space.

- They'll stick up for you, even when you're in the wrong.

- They'll tell you later, privately, that you were in the wrong.

- They'll never let you down, and forgive you when you screw up.

- They can tell when something's upsetting you, annoying you, or just getting you down without you having to say a word.

you know if someones a true friend if they're always there for you and if you need a shoulder to cry on, they'll be there to let you have a shoulder to cry on..a friend isn't a true friend if he/she talks shit behind your back.
