S_C answered Saturday May 20 2006, 7:29 pm: The only actual "job" I know of that hires that young is an ice cream place called Cold Stone Creamary. I'm not sure if you have one of those near you, but those, and some gas stations will hire that young.
Other than that, babysitting, yardwork, petsitting, those are the types of jobs that you could get. If you're close to 15 then Chik-Fil-A will usually hire you. I'm also not sure if you have one of those where you live, but if you do, they hire at 15 or if you're really close.
You could also get a job such as tutoring a younger student. Maybe an elementary or middle school student, in a subject that you excel in. You could also get a job at your local YMCA if they'll hire you. I know the one up the street from me will start hiring people to "babysit". I put that in quotes because it's not what I would consider babysitting, it's more of a camp councilor type of thing (which you could also work as)
It's great that you're looking for a job early on, but I'm 15 and in less than 2 weeks, I'll end my sophmore year in high school. Most places still won't hire me. I won't be 16 until November, so it's really difficult for me to get a job. It's very tough to get a "real" job other than babysitting/petsitting/dog walking/yardwork. Those are really the only paying things you can consider jobs due to the child labor laws. At your age, for any job you wish to apply for, you'll most likely need a working permit anyway (which you get from school).
Well, I do hope I was of some help, if you need any information on how to go about getting some of these jobs, feel free to post a question to my inbox.

Some things you can do are be a bagger at a grocery store, be a camp counselor, babysit, or take care of plants/pets for neighbors while hey go out of town during the summer. You could make flyers and go around the neighborhood and pass them out.
xoxDaneCookRox answered Saturday May 20 2006, 6:10 pm: There are not many jobs for 14 year olds. The age is normally 15. The only thing i would know of is maybe a job at a summer camp CITing. Im not sure how much it pays or if it is just volenteer, you would have to look around it will be differnt for certain places.
CavieOwnsU2 answered Saturday May 20 2006, 5:18 pm: Some camps start hiring CITS around age 14. That;s what my friend is doing this summer and she gets paid well. Also, what are your hobbies? Love softball? Ask for umpiring or coaching oppurtunities. I'm thinking about getting a job at my barn. There's always babysitting! [ CavieOwnsU2's advice column | Ask CavieOwnsU2 A Question ]

xomegaroni answered Saturday May 20 2006, 4:04 pm: since you're 14, you can't really get too many jobs at businesses. you can do this around your neighborhood er help people out. you can wash cars or babysit. i know a few people that coach summer league basketball teams for younger kids, like 8-11. they help out & get paid by practices & games. you might be able to work at a community center. ask around. your town might have a lot of jobs.
