Surprisingly enough, more people than you'd assume shave their arms. I suppose I can see how you'd feel insecure about this, but it's all an unfortunate normalcy of life. If you truly feel like this is what you want to do, then I suggest very lightly dragging a disposable razor over your arm. This will lighten the hair, and providing you don't go crazy, no one will be able to tell.

No it's not gross or weird. I know a lot of people who do and if you are going to shave them make sure you do regurarly so your arms aren't prickly.

don't worry about it girl. i wouldn't shave my own arms, but in your case, i would start to shave them. but if your not afraid of getting waxs on your arms then i'd go for that. also, if you're not scared of ruining your skin, that stuff that you put on ur arms and it kills the hair for a little while, do that. but make sure you understand you're risking ruining your skin.

be careful and good luck! josie

i dont think its gross or wierd, instead of shaving it, you can bleach your arm hair to make it lighter, or go for a waxing if you want. ♥ ashley

I shave my arms. So if people think it`s weird just point at their hairy arms && just be like "Well i`m just glad my arms don`t look like THAT*points at the idioc bastard*". Don`t worry. Half of us girls shave our arms. They grow kinda fast so yea you have to keep up. :]

Igotamonopoly answered Tuesday January 31 2006, 6:52 pm:
Nah, it isn't weird, but if you let it grow back it will look gross.

I know lots of people that do it. Waxing might be a better option.

no to tell you the truth, i do it and so do a lot of people i kno. its jus a hassle to deal with becuase you have to shave often. LIke once u start you have to keep goin or else it'll just grow back worse. I usually shave my arms like every 3 days or when ever i seem to notice my hair growing back. I think it makes a gurl look my attractive also, like some guys dont like hairy arms. jus like some gurls dont like a guy with hair in some places. It all depends on how you think you wanna look.

I hope i helped!
xoxo ash

sizzlinmandolin answered Tuesday January 31 2006, 1:12 pm:
Wow, I think it would take way too much time and upkeep to do that. I was friends with an exchange student from Japan and she went to an all girls school there. From what she told me I gathered that girls in Japan shave both their arms and legs. I don't know if this is true, it could have just been a very large number of girls at her school. In any case, when she came to the United States she stopped shaving her arms. After years of doing it in Japan, when she got to the US, she saw that very few people did it here and immediately stopped. Not because she wanted to follow the crowd, but because it was so much work and she absolutely hated doing it. Here, it wasn't expected of her or thought to be gross if she didn't. I think that shaving your arms is odd. I rank it up there with shaving your eyebrows and drawing them in. It's just unnecessary. I have pretty noticeable hair on my arms, but shaving my legs is quite enough time to spend on hair removal for me. I think that waxing is silly because it costs money and I doubt that Nair or other hair removal products will work for you. They usually only work for people with thin hair. I'm assuming that you're from the US, so I really don't see a point in doing it. It's not something that society requires of us. Hairy arms aren't considered gross or weird and hairless arms aren't either. So, you would gain nothing by shaving your arms. I hope I helped you and good luck.

its not gross or weird, but with hair thats dark an coarse youd really want to keep up with it to keep it from being so noticable as it grows back. i would say use veet or nair, but ive noticed they dont work very good on just stubtle, so itd pretty much have to get visable in between.you could wax regularly, but im not into pain. seriously if i were you and wanted it gone permenantly, id just really shave it once an then shave it every single time i showered, even before it strts to grow back,id jst keep doing that and never let it be visable again.

I would die my arm hair. That way I wouldn't have to shave it. Think about it if you shave it and it grows back and then you decide that you don't want to shave any more the hair is going to be even thicker. I wouldn't do it myself.

gorgeous_vixen answered Tuesday January 31 2006, 4:33 am:
no. but it wouldnt look good when the hair is on the stage of growing back again, and u will feel the itchyness because u shaved it. since the hair is dark, it would easily be seen. i recommend waxing or using depilatory cream/mousse. :)

No, I had a girlfriend sometime back that shave her arms, but she had lighter, finer hair. It's not weird or gross..... but sounds like it would be alot of work to maintain.... Good luck with whatever you decide to do.... I wouldn't do it myself, esp w/dark coarse hair..... what's the point... you are how you are.... and someone will love you one day just as you are!
