abortion
ok well for school we have to wright a persusive essay about something we feel strongly about adn i choose to wirght about abortion..well i was thinking that i dont really no that much about it but that it kills an innicoent child adn what it says on the internet..but i really need peoples opinions about why they are for or against it...i really need this nad its due tomorrow yes i no stupid to do things last min. but you no i forgot..
so whay would you be for or against or both on abortion?

Its about choice...I think a lot of people are missing that point here. You can be personally against abortion and still pro-choice. Its just feeling what may be right for you, or what you think is right for you may not be always the same thing for someone else. Its walking a mile in someone else's shoes. Bottom line, if a girl is lucky she may never have to consider abortion in her entire life. However, many aren't that fortunate and why should a law be overturned and take away a choice just because some people are morally and religiously opposed to it. (Last I looked there wasn't a state religion in this country though that seems to be changing .)
And its not only that its teenage girls who don't use birth control. Women have abortions in all phases in their lives for all different reasons and its really no one's business what they do but their own.

I am definitely against abortion, unless it is severely hurting the mother's health. It is murder either way you look at it. I mean, have the baby and atleast give it up for adoption. A life is better than no life.

First off gooood luck to you- whatever your views you will be shot down for them by someone or other. Also this is a tired old debate in which any moron can have an "opinion" knowing absolutely nothing about the topic. You will get tired of the arguement very quickly, particularly if (as happened to me) one of your teachers insists on hunting you down and engaging you in "discussion" about your views.
Personally I would be horrified if abortion were made illegal as I think it is a necessary evil in our society at present and its removal would result in even more children we have no place for (there are already far too any children in care who have not been and will not be adopted and unfortunately the figures do not fit the simple equation of "loads of couples want to adopt so just put them up for adoption" solve-all solution so often thrown out by pro-lifers)
But to be brief here are some topics/ideas to help you:
Responsibility- whos is it? the mother's? the government's? If your responsible enough to have sex does that mean you are responsible enough to take care of a baby OR if you're irresponsible enough to get pregnant does it mean you should not be handed a baby in a million years?
Causes: Why ARE there unwanted pregnancies? Inadequete Birth control? Bad education in young people (could bring in schools that teach only abstinence-do they have higher or lower rates of teen pregnancy in their students?). What about abortion within marriage or adult relationships?
Rights: A mother's right to control over her own body or an unborn child's right to be born? What about the rights of the father? If a father wans to keep the baby but the mother wants an abortion, what happens?
Incidentally you will find an awful lot of websites both pro-life and pro-choice (btw it's impossible to have two "pro"s in an arguement- so you could bring in the fact that really they're fighting on two competely different planes or reasoning) but they will all have an extreme slant. If you want facts and figures go to a website/book with actualy government/medical records that should be the most un-biased information you will find on the topic.

i am against abortion. i am a mother of a beautiful 5 year old daughter and i think wow if i aborted her this little sweet child <little person> wouldnt be here which is kind of like murder. well actually i feel it is. i mean god is the only authority in my opinion that can give or take a life. i mean think about it if the pregnancy wasnt supose to be it would end in miscarriage. i mean so many people that could make this plce a better world <could have been born> if people didnt abort them.what if you were aborted what if some of the greatest people known to man were aborted like thomas edison henery ford my god we would sure be living different wouldnt we. to me life all has a reason . a young girl may have an abortion out of fear of the unknown....but the unknown may be what will make her stronger for reasons only god has. also ya have to remember with anything a person does there is a consequence so if ya dont want to get pregnant dont have sex .anyways im sure alot disagree but thats my opinion. also i remember in high school they showed a video of of a fetus being aborted it looked like it was screaming and it was being all sucked apart like a gummy bear.so think about that. its just all terribly sad.

i would be against it b/c you are taking an innocent life!! & I dont think it should be legal because it is your own fault that you got pregnant..unless of course you were raped, that is the only way i think it is a consideration! but other than that I think it is wrong to have an abortion b/c the baby never did anything, & it is a living breathing thing. It is just like murder!

I think that abortion is very wrong and I'm against it BUT there are cases where I think it would be appropriate and should be up to the mother and possibly the father too. Some of these include rape, incest, if the unborn child has a severe disability, and if the mother is at risk of dying from the pregnancy. I believe that pretty much anyone else is able to and should pay the consequences for having sex by going through with the pregnancy. If you're ready for sex you should be ready for the risks it involves. There are lots of families out there that can't have children of their own and would love to adopt a newborn baby. Good luck!

You have chosen a very, very, very, sensitive topic. Be ready for a huge discussion that can get very heated. People feel very strongly on both sides and they tend to not get along. There were a few discussions about abortion in some classes I have taken over the years and very few (only one I think) did not end with screaming and tears. Extreme, yes. I think that we peoples should be able to have abortions, I mean, wouldent you rather not let the child know it was alive, or let it live in a life that it wasint ment to be in? espesally if the perents cant afford things, then the kid starves to death, or dies of a sickness...
but thats just how i feel, do it about what you really feel like! :D

Lemme say right off the bat, I'm not against abortion. I'm not saying girls should run around getting pregnant then getting an abortion but there are other reasons too. What if a girl was raped and got pregnant, it is not her fault she is pregnant and should have the choice to get the abortion. Even though abortion is immoral.. I think that it shouldnt made me illegal because think about if you were to become pregnant by accident.. and you really wanted an abortion and your whole life was ruined because you had to carry through with the baby.. I mean it is your choice to become sexually active, and be safe.. but theres always circumstances, or if hte condom broke or whatever,its not your fault... and i think it would ruin alot of peoples lives.. I think it should be up to the person who wants it whether they want it or not.. it should be there decision to choose, not the law...

I am pro-choice.
It's ultimately your descision to get sexually active, and what choice you make if/when you get pregnant.
Some teenagers think they are emotionally ready to get sexually active, but a lot of teens just think that they're ready because they're caught up in the love rush. A lot of times it happens when they get bored with the first degree sexual activity and want to go to "home plate".
I think that if the teen feels she is not ready for a child, then abortion is an ok way to get out of pregnancy and the responsibility taken on at an early age.
A lot of websites that are pro-life are exaggerating the facts and stating their opinions. Pro-choice websites are stressing their opinions too. You need to find a happy medium between these two to see what you really feel is right.
But personally, I am pro-choice because if you make a mistake and you don't want the responsibility or you want to live a normal life, then abortion might be a good choice for you. But to erase this problem from my slate, I'm going to stay a virgin until I'm deep in a relationship and I'm financially stable enough to take the risk.

ok first off all i am aganist abortion.i am pro life
because it was the mother's mistake for being sexually active...and number 2 you wont have to have an abortion if you save sex for marriage. rape is not an excuse because they have something called the moring after pill which can prevent pregnancy if you hav ebeen raped.
i belive killing an innocent child is wrong and abortion is homocide!

Its not that childs fault that the parents had sex unprotected and without birthcontrol.. they could of provented that by so many ways and gettin an abortion i don`t think should be a way to get rid of something they made a mistake over.. I am defenetlly against abortion. It's one of the cruelest things you can possibly do. It's killing a person that should have a chance to live. If the parent's don't have much money to support it, then they should put it for adoption.

I would never abort a child, personally. BUT - as you probably know, there are two sides to abortion, Pro Life, meaning that you think abortion is wrong for everyone, and Pro Choice in which you don't have such a problem with it. In going by definition, I'm for choices. I belive that it is up to the woman pregnant with the baby to decide what she is going to do with it. It is the womans body, and the womans child, and if the woman and the father are on good terms, the father should also have a say in it. I think killing an innocent child is wrong. Even if you don't have the financial means that you need to meet to raise a child or otherwise, I'd always choose something like adoption over killing the child. But like I said, I belive that it is up to the mother of the child to decide what they would like done if they are in a situation where abortion has to be considered.
