hey, i was wondering if weed will show up in a blood test. I'm probably going to have one for something completely un-related to drugs. i mean like, they aren't looking for weed or anything. So, i guess i'm wondering if it will show up at all and if they have to be specifically looking for it to find it. How long does it stay in your system? I've heard 38 days, but i've only smoked twice (yesterday and three days ago) and i didn't smoke very much at all. Between both days, i probably didn't even have a bowl. Thanks

And whether it is one cigarette or two that will sow too. That have very good technology nowadays so anything can show up. [ Advicelady6798's advice column | Ask Advicelady6798 A Question ]

It will only show up in your test if they are specifically looking for it.
There are so many things that can be detected in blood that normally doctors only search your blood sample for what they are looking for!
Dr_Chad answered Wednesday November 2 2005, 9:06 am: I work in a hospital laboratory. Unless we are testing the blood specifically for THC, we won't find it. All laboratory tests are specific--we only find what we are looking for. You have nothing to worry about.

And in your case it should be out within a few days, if you smoke a lot it can take up to a year, if you don't smoke that much it only takes about a month to get outta your system..If you sweat a lot then it gets out faster..and drink a lot of water so you pee a lot! Hope that helps! Good Luck, x0x Allie x3 [ AlwAySz_h3r3_4_yOu's advice column | Ask AlwAySz_h3r3_4_yOu A Question ]
falliingxagain answered Tuesday November 1 2005, 9:22 pm: Weed stays in your system for like... two weeks. But if you're getting a medical blood test they probably wont test it for pot. Theres no way to get pot out of your blood, though. It does show up in a blood test... but in blood, im not sure for how long. I really just came to tell you they 99% will NOT test it for Pot, or else they would've found pot in my blood when I was in the ER and had just smoked THAT day. lol. karenR answered Tuesday November 1 2005, 9:18 pm: According to what I read (will give you link), blood tests are not the best way to detect use of smoking pot.
It is detectable only for a couple of hours after use in the blood.
I think they have to be testing for something specific before it would show up anyway. :)
hoji answered Tuesday November 1 2005, 8:40 pm: They usually test for something specific, not likelly to find weed when looking for coke....but never bad to be safe.
Even if you don't smoke pot at all and just sat opposite somebody smoking a joint they can pick it up, but the test is only positive for a certain ammount of thc per blood amount. don't know what that is though.
k, my buddy did this before insurance medical tests a few years back.
Drink as much water as you can everyday for two weeks, more of both the better, NO POT.
He drank something like 6-10 litres of the stuff a day and his test came out negative for weed.
The only way that they can then detect weed is in ur hair, but as far as i know the test a bit expensive, and unlikely to be performed.
MummuM answered Tuesday November 1 2005, 7:15 pm: It won't show up if you're going for a blood test. If you're going for a drug test, and you just smoked the day before, then it will show up. But since you're just going for a blood test, it won't show up. A blood test and a drug test are two different things. Don't worry about weed showing up on your blood test, though, because it won't. You have nothing to worry about. ♥ [ MummuM's advice column | Ask MummuM A Question ]
