TheTeenGirl answered Friday October 28 2005, 10:45 pm: Well, it's one thing to just be curious about it, but looking at photos and reading stories about it might be taking it a little far. I think that you need to just focus on something else when it comes to this. When you read about it a lot, your mind just starts unraveling and starts to think that it's ok for it to happen, and that it's not such a horrible thing. But let me tell you, rape is horrid, and people that are being raped are scared to death. It's not something you want to make a daily curiousity, it's like looking at at tragic part of life everyday, and I think you need to stop acting on this curiousity and find a new one.
powertrash answered Friday October 28 2005, 4:05 pm: That's not a weird question. It's perfectly valid, actually. I've heard a lot of people admit that sometimes some violence in sex turns them on. It's an obession, because it's not culturally acceptable, a lot of people keep quiet about, but I would infer from the amount of rape porn out there a lot of people have a similar obession.
grobanitegrl227 answered Friday October 28 2005, 3:26 pm: its normal to wonder about it.... its not something you ever want to happen to yourself, and other people's stories let you know how real the situation is. yes, it is normal.... but its different if you actually WANT to rape someone lol. then we have a problem. Chicken_flavored_eggs answered Friday October 28 2005, 2:28 pm: It might be one of those things that scares you and intrigues you at the same time. Now, I know this may be silly but I feel that way about mullets (they are so wrong, yet so great... but this isn't about me...) It is kind of like a train wreck, you don't want to look at it, but you find yourself looking for blood and guts despite yourself. As long as it doesn't become harmful in anyway, it just has your attention at the moment. [ Chicken_flavored_eggs's advice column | Ask Chicken_flavored_eggs A Question ]
storageanddisposal answered Friday October 28 2005, 1:48 pm: Hmm. I suppose it can be percieved as normal, despite how abnormal it seems. Generally, we as people seem to be drawn to things that frighten us or may seem taboo; hence our interest in horror movies, serial killers, etc. And when one sees such things so often that they seem mundane, it's not illogical to think they would try to find something more shocking. I suppose it's normal to be interested in such a thing as rape, so long as you have no urge or desire to take part in such acts. I wouldn't try to feed this interest though.
