I'm having a Halloween/ Birthday party today and I rented Amutiville Horror and Texas Chainsaw Massaccre. I was wondering are they really scary, like should I be watching the,? (i'm 13) <3 Kate
Vendetta answered Saturday October 15 2005, 11:35 pm: No, I did not think they were scary at all. My friend actually fell asleep during the Amityville Horror and we live about two towns away from that house, so yeah. I'm a horror movie addict, and in the world of horror movies, these weren't frightning. [ Vendetta's advice column | Ask Vendetta A Question ]
BeastFromTheWeast answered Saturday October 15 2005, 3:55 pm: Amittyville is ok.
I dont suggest texas chainsaw massacre. Its not really appropriate for 13 year olds. Its not scary or anything, just gross and disturbing.
Chicken_flavored_eggs answered Saturday October 15 2005, 3:09 pm: How many scary movies have you seen? How many of them have bothered you? If the answer is "I have seen a few and they don't bother me", then go for it, but if you are a scaredy puss (like I used to be), these movies will probably scare you because you are so young. TheHeadHonchoPoncho57 answered Saturday October 15 2005, 3:00 pm: The Amytville Horror is pretty scary, but I think you should be able to see it. Just keep in mind that there are going to be kids at the party who probably aren't allowed to see it, even if you might be. The Texas Chainsaw Massacre is disgusting...sooo much blood and guts It's waaayyy too inappropriate for you or any other 13-year-old to see. Courtney answered Saturday October 15 2005, 2:04 pm: Texas Chainsaw Massacre really wasn't that scary to me because it just had a lot of stupid people within the town looking stupid and doing stupid things. The only thing freaky about the movie was the way the people within the town acted and the things that the killer actually did to the people. They actually even show things that he collects in the movie if you haven't already seen it. The only scary thing about the movie is the blood and that really isn't scary at all. I reccommend Halloween, Scream 1,2, and 3,(the only thing scary about scream is that there's the possibility that it actually could happen in your community and the stabbing too)Freddy, The Ring, and the exercist. Also, Jeepers Creepers one and two too. Those are some that I reccommend. I don't know anything about the other movie that you mentioned. Sorry. [ Courtney's advice column | Ask Courtney A Question ]
GDROB2 answered Saturday October 15 2005, 2:00 pm: Kate,
The problem is what someone else thinks of a movie may never be what you think of a movie. Everyone loves something different. Your friends might love Amityville while you hated it. It is all subjective.
In fact Roger Ebert wrote recently that thumbs up and thumbs down or stars, or picture of a bomb these days mean nothing unless you read the reviews and figure things out based on what you liked and what they said.
Is Amityville scary? Not in my opinion Will you like it? I am not sure but the 1974 original is more to what you are looking for. Texas Chainsaw Massacre again people did not like it but horror buffs did. You ought to talk to my brother.
Incidentally, I am doing a live chat for halloween on horror movies. Also, if you have friends over for Halloween buy several blank T160 (8 hour) tapes. Cinemax is having a marathon all day and all night of movies you can use at your party. Just a helpful tip.
While I am not advertising my show persay check out www.teentalknetwork.com and Reel Talk from the drop down list on October 19th. We're having Tommy The Clown from RIZE on about hip-hop dance and Battle Zone competitions. We have contests too.
I hope this helped you. If you really need to know what people thought of a movie it's simple go to Rottentomatoes.com type in the movie and all the reviews ever published on it are there. Now Red Tomatoes mean the movie is good and a Green one bad. If a movie hits 50% it just made it. Below 50% it's a bomb. [ GDROB2's advice column | Ask GDROB2 A Question ]

it is all up to you, if you think your ready for it then tou can, if your feel your not ready for it then don't
Lyfe8allbad answered Saturday October 15 2005, 1:13 pm: The Texas Chainsaw was good. If your a type of person that gets scared easily then i advice you to don't watch it. The horror was a nice mvie also. But if you do decide to see them, you'll probably have a good laugh. If you like scary movies go right ahead and watch them.
