Broken Condom.

Question Posted Sunday September 4 2005, 4:12 am

My boyfriend and I were having sex, same as normal. We put the condom on correctly, but it still broke in the middle of us having sex. He hadn't cum yet so we just stopped there and finished in ways other then sex. My boyfriend said he didn't pre-cum, but I'm not sure that he knows exactly what that means, and I'm pretty sure you can't control that kind of thing. Is there a good chance that I could still get pregnant or anything I could do?

I need a real answer, so please, no 13 year olds that are just guessing.

you can't control pre-ejaculate. it happens before the orgasm and just sort of.. leaks out. it has sperm in it; so you could have gotten pregnant. i'd be safe and go buy a home pregnancy test; just to make sure. if it's within 72 hours of having sex when a condom breaks; or unprotected; then you can take an emergency contraceptive. Okay, you're right. Your boyfriend cannot control pre-cum. Pre-cum is the liquid that generally begins leaking out of the tip of the penis as soon as it becomes erect. Pre-cum contains sperm.

You had a penis inside you, a broken condom, and pre-cum. Is there a chance you could be pregnant? Sure.

However, there's a host of other things to think about: where in your cycle you are, if any pre-cum did leave the condom, etc.

You'll obviously be concerned, but your only option is to take the morning after pill relatively soon after the accident. Otherwise you'll have to wait for your period to come.

Assuming it DOES come, you might want to think about using a second form of birth control - the pill, the patch, inserts, etc.

Best of luck.

it is possibul that you are pregent, I would go get the morning after pill with-in 72 hrs. from when you 2 had sex, when you "pre-cum" its not all of it, just some, so it is still possibul that you are pregent

there's still a good chance you could get pregnant. you guys don't know for sure that there was no pre-cum [ & i think it's safe to assume that there was ]. SO, if it's been 72 hours or less, you should go get yourself the morning after pill [ you can get a prescription from planned parenthood or pretty much any clinic ], as soon as possible.

Well all guys claim they didn't pre-cum or cum, but they can't controll this. Pre-cum is not the same thing as actually cumming. Pre-cum happens during the course of sex before they finally cum all the way. Many guys just think that when you are talking about "pre-cum" that you are talking about when they cum all the way. So talk to your boyfriend and ask him what he thinks pre-cum is. Even if he knows it still makes no difference, because he can't stop himself from pre-cumming. It is a natural thing that happens, and this is why when people have sex without a condom and pull out there is still a HUGE possibilty of pregnancy. Also I would consider going to a Planned Parenthood or Teen Clinic in your area if you are scared you might be pregnant. They sell Morning After pills for usually around $40 and everything is confidential so your parents don't have to know. So I suggest calling and scheduling an appointment. While you're there, you should also ask them about condom brands, and which ones are less likely to break. Trojans are one of the most durable condoms out there, but they can still break if not put on right. You may think he is putting on the condom right but since it always is breaking when you guys have sex, then he obviously isn't putting it on right. It is embarrassing to tell a guy he doesn't know how to put on a condom right, but if he isn't putting it on right and it keeps breaking, then you need to tell him. Here is a link that shows the proper way to put on a condom:
[Link](Mouse over link to see full location)
When a condom breaks it is because air has gotten into the condom when putting it on, causing pressure. When the pressure of the air and the condom gets to high during sex, the condom will bust. Well I hope I have helped and if you need any other advice then feel free to note my inbox anytime. ~Sherah

Yes you could still be pregnant since you can not control cumming. You can do something tho, if this JUST happened, then I would go to the local store and buy the morning after pill, it should help. Hope this helped.

Okay, I am 13 but I can answer this. Yes, there is a chance that you can get pregnant, cuz you are correct when you say that you can't control precum. So...I would only start REALLY worrying about it if you are late or you don't get your period next month. Well..hope I helped & hope everything works out.

SilentOne answered Sunday September 4 2005, 10:50 am:
Meh, I probably knew this when I was 13, but don't worry, 17 yrs here.
If you have the morning after pill, then I suggest taking it. If you don't, then I'd only start to worry if you skip your next period. It's impossible for a guy to control his ejaculation. During sex a small amount of semen is ejaculated, with the biological purpose of helping to lubricate the female. It is possible to become pregnant from this, however it is much less likely than full, unprotected sex. Because he had a condom on, even though it broke, it's less likely that much of his ejaculate got far enough into you to cause pregnancy.
If it happens again, wash your vagina out as soon as you can. Don't finish having sex, because female orgasm can produce a "sucking" motion through the (Well, you can't expect me to remember the name of the muscle, can you? - tryyyyinggggggg) cervix, which would assist any semen on its way to make you pregnant.
Once again, I don't think you should worry about it until time for your next period, if you skip then definitely get a pregnancy test kit, and see your doctor about things.
And then everyone started to wonder "how did a guy know all of that?" ^.-

Well, there is a chance. Your boyfriend may not have known if he had any pre-cum. Most likely, you are okay. If you dont want to have a baby, just to make sure, go get that 72 hour pill from a clinic or Planned Parenthood. It's the safest way, and less harmful&painful then an abortion. Do what you think is right, but there is a slight chance. If you need anything else, let me know.

There is a chance that you can get pregnant yes, but it is a very small chance. If its within 36 hours i would suggest taking the morning after pill, but if it isnt then there isnt much you can do but hope.

Take care xx

Your boyfriend wouldn't know. "precum" isn't something you feel happening.

To answer your question yes, it is possible to get pregnant from this. More than likely you won't so don't panic. But it is possible. :)

Hello there... first, I'd like to applaud your condom use.

Your boyfriend cannot know for sure whether or not he "pre-cummed" or not. Pre-cum is a small amount of semen that seeps out of the penis prior to ejaculation. Although the chances are small, there is still a small risk you could get pregnant from this contact.

I would contact your doctor or a planned parenthood clinic in your area about emergency contraceptive. You have a window of 72 hours to take these birth-control type pills that significantly increase the likelihood that you will not get pregnant. Also, you should consider whether or not STI's are a possibility as well.

I would probably invest in a water-based lubricant to help avoid future condom breakage. Good luck and please don't be afraid or embarrased to go seek help. Medical professionals see this situation on a daily basis and would prefer you take action to protect against an unwanted pregnancy before conception has actually occurred.
