sunnyville answered Wednesday August 24 2005, 5:35 pm: What could of happen is that you didn't eat very well and yes it is normal sometimes periods are long, short, difficult to handle or easy to handle but you shouldn't be frightened what could help is a warm bath to clean your body and from your period. You should also wear the new always which has a good pad that you could touch and drys really quick but also make sure it has wings.Another I would recommend when you have a tuff period remember to wear something dark not white. J0NNYSxGiRL answered Wednesday August 24 2005, 3:47 pm: it's completely normal. i 1st got my period when i was in 7th grade, & it now is just starting to get normal, & i'm a junior in high school. so it took take a while for your body to decide what it's gonna do. just wait it out. don't worry about it. TrustMe answered Wednesday August 24 2005, 1:37 pm: no this is not normal. A very close friend of mine had her 1st period 1 day but it was the worst day of her life because it was very heavy and non stop flow of blood like you. She was on her period for about 20 some days instead of the usual week. And so she told her mother and they went to a doctor who sent them to the hospital. b/c she lost so much blood, she had to get transfusions b/c she was bleeding too much. now shes in hormonal thearapy to rebalance the chemicals and hormons in her body so that one day she can be a normal girl with a normal blood flow durring her period. Trust me, if I were you, i'd ask your mom to set up a doctors appointment. Good Luck! and i hope that i helped. keep me posted! [ TrustMe's advice column | Ask TrustMe A Question ]
azngemini answered Wednesday August 24 2005, 12:48 pm: first, calm down, lol.. it's totally normal. just because you normally dont get a lot of blood during your period, it doesnt mean it's always going to be like that. sometimes my periods are VERY bloody, and sometimes they're not bloody at all. it's just like that
BecauseYouLivex3 answered Wednesday August 24 2005, 12:24 pm: Dont worry about it .. its completely normal !! My period did that to once. Just when you get new pads I would suggest wearing a pad and tampon. Or if your not comfortable than just wear one of them. Dont worry your body still getting use to it. Once your body gets use to it, your period probally will come on basic schduele and wont be so heavy the first day. hope this helps! xForeverxForgottenx answered Wednesday August 24 2005, 12:19 pm: yeah thats totally normal. you're body is still changing and growing which is making it heavier...for the time being at least. i suggest using the heaviest kinds of past...i mean i have it so when i wear overnights, i have to change it like 4-5 hours later, which gets pretty annoying. it sucks i know. there are pads that are heavier than overnights too. hope i helped and good luck.
ps-when i first got my period it was light like yours was then it got heavier and it stayed for a month until i went to the doctor, i thought i would never stop bleeding and bleed to death or something. dont worry you're not going to bleed to death either lol. FunnyCide answered Wednesday August 24 2005, 12:03 pm: No, that's perfectly normal. Usually you'll have one or two light days, two heavy days, and one or two light days. If you're using junior tampons, you will have to change more frequently because they don't hold as much. Using a pantyliner is an excellent idea (I do it also). Trust me, your body is still young, going through many changes. Your periods will be irregular for probably a year or so, maybe more. Don't worry, you're 100% normal. Simply change your tampon more frequently, and if your mom thinks it's okay, you might want to try a higher absorbancy level. But, because you're young (and probably small) you might not be able to "fit" a size larger. :-b It's okay, I have heavy days when I have to change like every 2 1/2 - 3 hours, and days when I don't have to change but every 5-6 hours. It's normal. :)
AskLammaNAsh answered Wednesday August 24 2005, 12:03 pm: Lamma - Yes, this seems perfectly normal. THe dark blood you described means that the blood is old, so your first periods were probably just your body getting used to it. I got mine heavy right away though, so i guess consider your self lucky! From here on out though I'd look into supers (tampons) and definitely keep wearing a pantyliner with the tampon (thats saved me a couple of times), and look forward to about 45 more years of this! haha isnt womanhood a bitch?
iSpEaKsPaNiSh answered Wednesday August 24 2005, 11:56 am: periods are notorious for being weird like that so i wouldn't worry about it. if it stays like this for a couple more days, i would call the doctor just to make sure, but don't worry about it for now. xomegaroni answered Wednesday August 24 2005, 11:52 am: hmm..that doesn't seem too bad, because i know a lot of girls that get it heavy sometimes. if your WHOLE period, like all the days you have it is heavy, and then next time you get it, its STILL heavy, go see a doctor. you juss wanna be careful, but i think you're fine. tampons are good for when its heavy. it might be annoying, but if it does get on your underwear try a tampon, and then a pad juss to be safe. especially since school is starting er already did. i'm pretty sure it's normal, but it doesn't hurt to get it checked out =)
