For my art project, I have to draw a big game board, and as the title implies, I'm doing a Pink Floyd version of Monopoly. I'm not sure on what do label the street names like: Park Place, Boardwalk, New York Ave., etc. For anyone that knows of the band, any ideas? All I have so far is in the corner for the jail, a clock that reads Time [get it?]. Thanks in advance, will rate. (link)
Use their songs like Dark Side of the Moon, and such. Do the members of the bad, and maybe their most famous concerts (?) And maybe their hometowns. Names of wifes and children too.

Good luck with your project!

ok so at my highschool we got a pool and have to go swimming. the problem is i dont feel comfrontable taking off ALL my clothes to wear my bathing suit infront of everyone.. they think just because we are all girls and have the same body parents that it is ok but i personaly dont think that is right.. and another thing is we cant use the "girl problem" to stop us from swimming" but i have NEVER used a tampon and i have heared from my friends that the doctor has told them it is bad for you and can mess up soemthing down there?? what can i do??

p.s

i dont start PE until next term (link)
Lamma - oo dont worry! we have a swimming pool too, and i was soo uncomfortable at first. but unless you have bathrooms in your locker room you can change in, you're probably gonna have to change in front of people. but there are some tricks you can do. well you know, shower in your swimsuit, and then with your swimsuit still on, put your bra on over you swimsuit. then just kinda take your arms outta the straps of your swimsuit, and slide it out. then wrap your towel around your waist, take off the rest of your suit under the towel, and put your underwear on underneath your towel. its kinda hard and takes some getting used to, but it worked for me and all my friends.

also as far as tampons, they arent bad for you, MILLIONS of women all over the world use them. they can be difficult to get them in the first time though. if i were you i'd start using them riite away, before you start PE. and this sounds REALLY gross, but your first time, if you can somehow use a mirror to see 'down there' its a lot easier. also go to www.beinggirl.com and they have a lot of stuff about tampons and your period that can help.

hope i helped, and feel free to ask a q in the future!!

I'm 25 and have lived in my own apartment for three years, but I recently met a girl my age who has a house and a spare bedroom and wants a housemate to help with payments, so I'm going to move in with her. She's really cool and we hang out and have gotten to be friends. Here's my question: a few people (my parents, mostly) have told me that any time you're going to live with someone new you should have a set of ground rules that you both work on and agree to... like, what hours it's okay to play loud music, who's going to do dishes when, stuff like that. I told them the idea is silly because we're friends and she's going to think I'm weird and uptight if I propose something like this. If my music is too loud, she can tell me, you know?

So what do you think... should we just go with whatever for a while, or work out an agreement? What sort of stuff should we put on this list of rules if we do it? (link)
Lamma - i dont see ne reason to propose rules until they're needed. if you and your friend are living in harmony right now, it doesnt really matter, right? but when problems start arising, like she KEEPS leaving the dishes for you night after night even after you ask, then yes i'd set down some base rules.

and as far as rules i'd just go with the three c's.

chores : dishes, yadda yadda.
comfort : music too loud, lights out time etc.
company : who can be over, until what time, stuff like that.

hope i helped, and feel free to ask a q in the future!

how do you scrunch hair so it becomes wavy? my hair not really thick but its usually straight (link)
Lamma - a good way to do this is after you take a shower brush your hair and let it air dry about 50%. then brush it one more time and put it into four buns, two on top of your head on either side, and likewise on the bottom. when your air is completely dry, take the buns out, lightly spritz with hairspray and comb through with your fingers. also instead of using conditioner when your taking your shower, use the leave in spray kind after you get out. the first kind can weigh down your hair making it not wanna curl as much.

hope your hair turns out perfect, and feel free to ask a q in the future!

okay so i turned 13 like 1 month and a few days ago. umm im going into 7th grade. i weigh 103 pounds andam 5'5. Is there any suggestions how i could loose weight my thighs i think are fat but my parents think that im just exagerating.please give me some advice on how to loose some weight. thanks (link)
lamma - this is weird. i have like the same problem! i weigh like 107, am 5'5" and think my thighs are fat! haha but i'm kinda of a skinny build from my mom, and so you might be too. and since people with skinny builds usually have skinny arms, calves, and stomachs, it can make your regular thighs look too big on your body. fortunetly theres this AMAZING workout in seventeen magazine made for your thighs! you could go to your library and look through the last six months of seventeen (i'm not sure which issue its in, but its in one of those), or you could just look in recent issues of seventeen or CosmoGirl, because they usually have workouts that include thigh busters. but i'm gonna go all mom on you now and say, DO NOT STOP EATING. trust me, it will not do anything and is incredibly unhealthy. just look for those work outs and you should be fine.

Whenever I babysit, the parents always ask me "How much do you pay per hour?". The truth is, I don't have a rate, and they always overpay me, which I don't mind :D, but I think it's impolite to take more than 15 dollars an hour. How can I politly set a reasonable babysitting rate that isn't too much or too little? (link)
Lamma - 15 DOLLARS AN HOUR? ARE YOU BABYSITTING FOR MILLIONAIRES?? haha well you might live in a more well-off town than i do, but i usually charge, as a going rate, $2.55 an hour per kid. but the price goes up if i have to a.) feed them a major meal, like lunch or dinner b.) i have to take them to a park or somewhere else or c.) if they have a friend over, in which case they're usually rowdy. for example if you have two kids, and you babysit from 9-5, feed them lunch, and take them too the park you should get paid between $50-60. its not A LOT a lot, but i think its a good medium that you and the parents will agree on.

hope you make lots of easy $$! n feel free to ask a q in the future!

OK How do you get your hair colored like kristins from Laguna Beach.. Like how its blonde but it has like brown in it.. does anyone know what it's called and how its done? thanks (link)
Lamma - well i dont watch Laguna Beach, but i do know what you're talking about because i had it done to my hair a few months ago. it actually takes a LOONG time, but what they did to me was section off my hair into a top section and bottom section. then they pinned up the top, and dyed the bottom a chocolate brown. then they let down the top and gave me blonde highlights. they also dyed it in such a way that the brown would 'peekaboo' (thats what they called it) through. Its called highlights and lowlights. now if you dont want to dye all of your hair the brown like i did thats ok, just go into a saloon (prolly a nicer one for something like this) and ask them for blonde highlights on top, and brown lowlights underneath.

hope your hair turns out spectacular! and feel free to ask a q in the future!

ok i know this is a little gross. but for a few years now, every once in a while i will get scabs on my scalp, and when i scratch my scalp then sometimes white stuff (not dandriff) ends up under my fingernails. what is this and hwo do i treat it? (link)
Lamma - well i'm not entirely sure whta the scabs are, but i wouldnt worry too much about it. the white stuff though, i do know about cuz i have it sometimes, and it comes from using the same shampoo/conditioner for a long period of time. to get it to go away, use a clarifying/cleansing shampoo once a week (its really strong stuff though, so use lots of conditioner afterward!) and that should get rid of all the stuff on your head. Back to Basics has some really good stuff of that. Also to help get rid of it, switch shampoos after the bottles gone. Like if you finish your bottle of Suave, try Pantete Pro-V or something. That always works for me!!

Hope i helped, and feel free to ask a q in the future!

All right, I need help... I went out with this guy for 3 months... But we were friends 2 months before we started going out... He had a crush on me, and I ended up liking him and we went out (like I said) so our relationship was more like 5 months it's just, for the first 2 months we didn't do anything, and everything was going great, or, so I thought... He broke up with me ON our 3 month anniversary, and yesterday WOULD HAVE been our 6 month anniversary and, it made me really sad... The thing is, is that he verbally abused me... He would say something and I wouldn't understand how he meant it, so I'd get upset, and he would call me stupid and tell me it was all my fault. After he broke up with me he got drunk and messed around with this that liked him, but, he didn't really like her because, he never talks to her anymore... Well, we still talked after he made out with that girl but, about a month ago we got into quite a few arguments and he told me I am not worth it, I can't handle anything, I don't deserve him talking to me, and a lot of other things that really hurt. He's friends, that I am also friends with, tell me he doesn't care about me AT ALL... But yet I still care about him, and everything that happened still REALLY hurts... Oh, and now he likes the school slut and thinks she is "amazingly hot" and wants to do stuff with her... But, my question is, why? Why does it still hurt when I know he is a really mean person, and it's been 3 months since we broke up, so why can't I shake this? Please help... (Yes, I will rate high for serious and helpful answers. Thanks in advance and, sorry for making this so long.) (link)
Lamma - o geez, this is a problem! Well let me say that first off, there is no way that this guy is worth your time, NOT AT ALL. My mom in fact was verbally and physically abused before she met my dad, but she kept going back to this guy!! A couple of years ago i asked her what in the hell could've made her to back to someone that treated her so bad and she said it was because she had a low self esteem, and she thought that he was the only guy that would ever love her. Now, i am NOT accusing you of having a low self-esteem, but if you do that might be the reason. Just from what i read in your question this guy seems to be an inconsiderate DICK. and he obviously is only interested in getting some. You deserve a much better guy, and hes out there. In the meantime, to get over him, pencil in some major you time. try something new, volunteer, have a friday night game night with your friends each week, WHATEVER it takes you keep your mind off this guy! and along the way, you might meet the special someone that is the entire opposite of your ex, and right for you!

really hope i helped, and feel free to ask another q in the future!

(13//f) ok well i have had my period before and yesterday i got it and i was bleeding like a ton. usually when i first get it, i only bleed a little and it is dark brown. but yesterday it was blood and a lot of it! and i ran out of pads so i put a tampon in and when i went to the bathroom an hour later there wsas blood all over my pantilyner ( i always wear them when i wear a tompon) so i took the tampon out and i didnt even have to like pull! it was sooo full of blood! is this normal? i know that it could have been my heavy day but normally they arent that bloody! and now it is just as bloody as yesterday!...is this normal??

please help ASAP!!!!!!!!!!

sorry, it was long...

thanks!! (link)
Lamma - Yes, this seems perfectly normal. THe dark blood you described means that the blood is old, so your first periods were probably just your body getting used to it. I got mine heavy right away though, so i guess consider your self lucky! From here on out though I'd look into supers (tampons) and definitely keep wearing a pantyliner with the tampon (thats saved me a couple of times), and look forward to about 45 more years of this! haha isnt womanhood a bitch?

feel free to ask a question netime later!

umm do you knon how to make the advicenator profile a different color? thanksss (link)
Lamma - umm, yea you go into Column Settings on the side bar, and click which colors you want. or if you're a computer whiz, you can actually set up your own, but i'm not, so YEA!

haha thanks, and feel free to ask another q some time!

What age do you think a girl should be to go to a gyno? Not for birth control, just for health check ups? Thanks! (link)
lamma - typically your fine not to go until you're sexually active (yes that means fingering, pulling out, and all that nice stuff also), but obviously if you're waiting for marriage and stuff, you should starting going around 17 or 18.

hoping you dont have to visit one for a long time!

Well, this question is only for those who have serious answers. My hair really doesn't curl or scrunch. It just doesn't. What are some other non-boring hairdo's or things to do with hair besides straightening it all the time? Any other ideas that ACTUALLY work for most hair? (link)
lamma - well i think straight, normal kinda hair, and what works best for me is messy buns, braided pigtails, normal ponytails, and then you know, when you dont pull the ponytail all the way through .. haha that. um, putting your hair half up, all that jazz. but newayz, heres ash, whose the hair expert of us two..

ash - well after you shower you should put some type of curling gel in your hair, (Thermasilk brand works well) and blow dry it with that, then curl it with an iron. If you want long waves take a shower and put in the gel then rite before you go to bed (with wet hair, or if you wanted to do it just during the day) put it in a twisted bun and let it dry that way it will give it a wave that looks very cute.

well hope you have locks of fortune with your hair .. haha not. corniest joke ever.

but newayz,

So my sweet 16 is coming up. Any suggestions? I already know for sure im having a party room with a DJ.. its gunna be a dance. But like what should i do.. have a cake? or no cake.. Should the cake be a cake or should i do a big cookie from Ms. Fields (cookie shop) And what about the lighting? And what should i do during the party other then dance? (link)
Lamma n ASh - definitely a go on the cake. people love cake! I LOVE CAKE! its a nice tradition for a party. but maybe, depending on the # of people invited, have lots of different cakes. ice cream cake, marble cake, red velvet cake (my fav.!) basically yes, lots of cake. and as far as lighting, just go with the whole dance gig, strobe lights, disco ball, flashy crap, that old tea cup. but maybe you wont have to worry about it cuz dont dj's usually bring their own lights? dunno check on that. and for other party games .. limbo? haha what might be fun is if you're hving a co-ed party, have everyone like come in drag (guys dress as girls, girls as guys) . HAHA those would be some treasured pictures!!

but newayz, hope we helped, and have a GREAT PARTY. drop us a line if you need it.

Alright it's marching band season for me right now and i flat iron my hair...it tends to get frizzy and poofy by the time i get to school even tho my hair is very straight at home when i touch it up. any tips on how to keep it from waving and making the poofyness dissappear? Could it be the flat iron i'm using? thanks =) (link)
Ash - well you should be using a ceramic straightener because those work the best. And if your hair is thicker than you should make sure htey have a heat setting because i used to have the same problem but so i just got a hotter straightener.

Lamma - well i have thinner hair, so i cant really identify with your problem, but i know i have some friends with thick hair, who regularly go to a saloon to get it thinned. i'm not sure of the $$, but i think that would help with the 'frizzy-ness'

Thanks for your time, and feel free to ask for nething in the future!
