i am 5'3" and weigh 104 lbs( i am a girl)
i just got back form camp and now my mom is telling me that i look too skinny, but i think i need to loose 5 pounds. how can i make her see things my way so she doesnt get mad at me when i diet.

I think that if you think you need to lose 5 pounds, just tell her " I think I need to lose 5 pounds" I am 14, 5'4" and I weigh about 120 and I think I'm to skinny!!! I would try not to lose any weight, cause if you do, u'll look like Lindsey Lohan ( no offense ). I would try to go around at that weight for about 3 months and if you still hate that weight, tell your mom. Hope this helped.

Okay what is the reason you think you need to loose 5 pounds for? If its to impress somebody else then sweety the only person you need to impress is God. Im 5'4" and i weigh probably 107 or around there ( im 13 ) But see sometimes i gain wait because i dont work out. I only work out so i can get muscle, and muscle - incase you didnt know, makes you heavier but you look better. So what i tell you to do is work out, and not 24/7 but once or twice a week. It'll help your health and if your mom thinks your too skinnky then you might possibly loose a little bit of weight but you'll be in shape before you know it. But also how old are you? Because Teen's dont need to be on a diet if they're skinny. And plus i dont know how old you are but see i was exacly 5'4" and i weighed 110 in 7th grade, which was last year.. i wasnt fat i just didnt have a smooth/straight down stomach, i said i was fat and this and that but it was dumb because they're bigger people then i was and obviously im bigger then you are, in which im not big at all. But you need to work out because your gonna loose a little bit of weight,.. but only weight that needs to be turned into muscle - so dont freak when the numbers go up. Its because your building body strength. Oh and "dont worry about anything, instead pray about everything!" do that and you'll be fine with yourself. OH YEAH,.. GET INTO CHURCH. Because i was like you last year and then i got soo involved in church my life flipped around. And i was always wanting to loose weight to fit other peoples needs, but then i realized, i only needed to fit mine and God's. So think about that~

trust me- you dont need to diet in the first place- and most of the time when kids go to camp their diet changes and their more active so you probably lost some weight at camp anyway...and sometimes its not that you need ot lose weight- but try running and weight lifting cuz it tones up your body! but if you are gonna diet just tell your mom that you just feel that you should do this- and its not really dieting- its really just eating differently, more in proportion, and healthier...my moms a health nut- ask any of my friends...

Oh my gosh, hunnie I'm 121 and 5'3 going on 5'4 and if you see my picture in my advice column hopefully it don't look like I'm fat I'm not even overweight and I weight that much. Most people say it's the way my body structure is meaning big boobs, cheerleader legs, muscled stomache, some muscle in the arm and blah blah blah. Babe you don't need to lose any weight you need to gain it. Ha, ha my mom tells me if I didn't have the boobs I have I would need to lose 5 pounds but hell since I have them then nevermind. Try to gain weight if you don't see it that way then I think you need to go to the doctors. Go to my site and call me fat I don't care I just know that I'm healthy. Please don't lose weight I would know I lost 20 pounds from being anerexic and if I wouldn't have had someone tell me I need to eat then I would be in the hospital by now. Hope I helped.

are you crazy? why the hell would you need to lose 5 pounds? 104 is underweight for your height anyway. are you TRYING to look like paris hilton? it's not that attractive hun. you don't need to lose ANY weight!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! you'll be dangerously underweight if you try to lose anymore.

u can get you bmi there and see <--show your mom the site because you just made underweight..also you might just have a small bone structure but if think you need to lose weight or anything ask a doctor

i can tell you right now that you don't need to loose anything.. but it's your life so if you want to tell her just be like "mom im not comfortable of the way i am right now and if i loose 5 more pounds i won't be selfcontious anymore.." or somthing like that.. just make her see where your comming from.. but just keep in mind that there is a such thing as too skinny.. and i think if anything you need to gain a little.. but it's your decision and your body so you do what YOU want :-) hope i helped

Well, how old are you? Are you between the ages of 12-15?Because, the average weight for those ages are 90 to about 120 pounds. So your weight is completely normal, and let your mom know that. Tell her that you are loosing weight in a healthy way. Good Luck!

For your height you are skinny. You do not need to loose any more weight because that would be unhealthy. Your mom is right. Dont diet but just eat a lot more healthier. If you loose 5 more pounds that going to be underweight.

Your weight is fine! You are in the 46th percentile for weight. You would only be considered overweight if you were in the 95th percentile or over. If you really feel that you need to loose five pounds then just exercise a lot and eat healthier foods-not less food and maybe your mom won't even notice! It is good to pick healthier food choices. If you do lose 5 pounds then you will be in the 32nd percentile! Good luck, but you really don't need to lose that weight you are just fine the way you are!
