Other than Jansport, what are some good brands of backpacks? I'm going to have a lot of big books and binders this year and I need a bookbag that will last me all year without tearing or the zippers breaking. Thanks.
SoNotLegal answered Saturday August 6 2005, 7:08 pm: LL Bean, definitely. They're really durable -- I've had the same backpack since 8th grade, and I'm starting 11th this year. They can run a little bit more expensive than others ($40-$50), but it's definitely worth it. And you can get your initials stitched on it!
♥ Hope I helped. [ SoNotLegal's advice column | Ask SoNotLegal A Question ]

margarita_luvs_ya answered Friday August 5 2005, 3:57 pm: Try shoulder bags Old Navy has them for about $20. In my highschool people don't carry backpacks but bags. Target has this tote in different colors for about $8-$15. L.L. Bean you can put your initial on them. Good luck. [ margarita_luvs_ya's advice column | Ask margarita_luvs_ya A Question ]
jbdreamer answered Friday August 5 2005, 2:05 pm: When I was in highschool it was cool to have a North Face backpack. They are made for athletic and outdoors people so they are VERY durable. Each style comes in 5 or more colors too. I bought mine 8 years ago and still use it. It's worth the money.

Anyway my mom said if I wanted a could get a new one even though my other one was good, just in case something happened. I got a columnbia and it works pretty good. I know LL Bean has nice book bags too.
I suggest making sure you have an extra, because usually my bookbags break in the middle of the year and stores are sold out so you get stuck with either another crappy one, or you don't get one. [ S_C's advice column | Ask S_C A Question ]

icey0990 answered Thursday August 4 2005, 10:54 pm: Maybe try ordering a bookbag through the Lands End catelog..they are really great quality bookbags. They are about $50-75 but totally worth it [ icey0990's advice column | Ask icey0990 A Question ]
runz_with_scizzorz answered Thursday August 4 2005, 10:42 pm: What about the New Balance bookbags? Thats what I got in the middle of the year last year. It's cool. I love them. Even though I didn't use it and my friend did, (lol) she was very impressed with it. I'm not sure what I am going to get this year. But if I do get one, I will get one of the New Balance ones.
