2 days ago me and my sister were running outside in my uncles back yard and i ran around her and i stepped on a 2 1/2 inch rusty bolt and it went 1 inch *or more* in my foot and i had to go to the hospital. well now im back home and i have no crutches or a wheel chair or anything and i really want to walk around my house but when i hop on my good foot it makes my ribs and knee hurt too much does any one know a way for me to get around until i get crutches?
thanks
i rate 5's for good answers

IsabelToTheRescue answered Thursday July 7 2005, 6:09 pm: I broke my foot once (it was on the edge of my foot),and before I got crutches I walked on my heel. Try putting most of your weight on your good foot and put some pressure on the heel of your injured foot. I'd try to avoid walking, but if you must try that! Good Luck, and hope that foot gets better! -- Isabel [ IsabelToTheRescue's advice column | Ask IsabelToTheRescue A Question ]

Irishdude405 answered Wednesday July 6 2005, 1:03 pm: Maybe if you got a cane and used that for support. or if you tied your bottom part of your leg to the upper part of your leg with a belt you could hop around the house. They should have given you crutches.
AcH428 answered Wednesday July 6 2005, 11:44 am: you could roll around in one of those rolli chairs..like computer chairs until you get your crutches. thats fun. ive had to do it before [ AcH428's advice column | Ask AcH428 A Question ]
jeni_xoxo answered Wednesday July 6 2005, 11:10 am: Well make sure you wrap your foot up with those wrap around bandades. I would walk normal one the un-hurt foot and on the heel of the other. If the doctors didn't give you crutches then he probably feels as if you don't need them. But if it still really bothers you then you need to go back to the docter and get him to write you a perscription for crutches. I'm sure that he'll have no problem doing it.
Julie174 answered Wednesday July 6 2005, 11:06 am: you could crawl...or you could just walk on your good foot and walk on the heel of the hurt foot. I honestly think the hospital is stupid because their supposed to give you crutches. Good Luck and hope i helped!
mushoku answered Wednesday July 6 2005, 11:05 am: Drink more milk. It sounds like you might not be getting enough calcium, unless your muscles are just sore.
To get around better, and less painfully, you may have to have someone help you out by letting you lean on them, or use the arm on the side of your bad leg to help support yourself to that you don't have to hop quite so much.

LoveNJstyle answered Wednesday July 6 2005, 10:44 am: ok i dont know extreme you wanna go with this but when i was younger i always had injuries so i would sit on the ground, feet in front of me and i would drag/scoot myself to wherever i needed to go. sound too immature? hop on one foot, limp, or wrap it a lot so it wont hurt when you walk. hope this helps! <3 [ LoveNJstyle's advice column | Ask LoveNJstyle A Question ]
