My period started early today and im going shopping tomorrow!! It wouldnt be a problem or anything but i have really heavy periods and the 2nd day is always the heaviest. Tomorrow is gonna be the 2nd day! im not calling it off because i cant let my friends down and ive wanted to get some cds and stuff im buying tomorrow for ages. any suggestions, like how i can cope and what i should do?! and when i say heavy i mean really heavy as have to use night pads in the day and change them every 2 hours.
FantastaWoman answered Saturday June 4 2005, 5:26 am: I know how you feel because my periods used to be the exact same way. I suggest taking some ibuprofen before you leave and bring extra pads. Try to have fun with your friends and if you aren't feeling up to going tomorrow, call your friends and tell them you aren't feeling well. If they're really your friends, they'll understand. Take luck and keep in touch! [ FantastaWoman's advice column | Ask FantastaWoman A Question ]
AuTy answered Saturday June 4 2005, 12:22 am: Well i wouldnt know wat heavy periods felt like cuz i dont have them....but if you expectin one then you should be prepared... bring enough pads and make sure you change when neccessary so you can feel comfortable...to avoid odors.... buy a lil purse case of powder so you can stay fresh...wear comfortable clothes.. nothing tight tight thats makes it worse..wear something that you can easily move in. Just make sure you're comfortable and dont worry bout it..have a good time at the mall [ AuTy's advice column | Ask AuTy A Question ]

TR0PiCALX3 answered Friday June 3 2005, 2:56 pm: Okay first off if your periods are that heavy you should get on birthcontrol..thats WAY to heavy..and 2nd take 2 aleve and just wear a cute pair of sweats or jeans..and get a jumbo tampon/pad and change it as often as you need..you can't really change anything, you just have to cope..Sorry probably not much help ♥ [ TR0PiCALX3's advice column | Ask TR0PiCALX3 A Question ]
xoxoPrettyNPinkxoxo answered Friday June 3 2005, 2:25 pm: Hey! There is nothing that you can do to change the heaviness of your flow....sorry you just have to deal with it.
Do:
-wear the heavy night pads
-change your pad right before you leave
-take Midol or another type of menstrual cramp reliever
-bring pads with you and change them regularly so that you feel comfortable
-confide in one friend so that she can go with you to change it
Dont:
-cancel your plans because of it...you're gonna have it for your whole life so you'll just have to deal with it
-not change your pad so that you leak
Mackenzie answered Friday June 3 2005, 1:10 pm: Aww! Since theRe's unfoRtunately nothing to do to change the seveRity of the flow, just do what you've been doing:
-- change them *often.
-- use night pads.
-- maybe two at once, if you must, ya know what I mean..?
-- and if it's as bad as you make it sound, weaR a tampon TOO??
-- and if cRamping is a pRoblem, take medicine befoRe hand, and caRRie it with you.
queenbianca2004 answered Friday June 3 2005, 1:07 pm: I went through the same thing. Dont worry you can still go. Just bring pads. You have to buy the larger ones bc they hold longer. Just tell them you need to change. Im shure they'll understand. And if there boys then you mught want to hold out longer. I hope I helped
rainbowcherrie answered Friday June 3 2005, 12:49 pm: Jbdreamer is right, you are going to have to learn how to deal with this kind of thing. Change your pad right before you leave, bring a couple with you so you can change them if necessary and change again as soon as you get home. jbdreamer answered Friday June 3 2005, 12:39 pm: You are going to have your period for many years to come. Are you planing on cancelling plans eveytime? Life happens. Bring a purse and some extra pads, and go to the bathroom when needed. It's not a big deal at all. [ jbdreamer's advice column | Ask jbdreamer A Question ]
