Question Posted Tuesday April 19 2005, 5:54 pm

I'm going on a school trip Wed-Fri. and I've got my period the heaviest it's ever been. It's like I have to change my pad every hour. I've never gotten cramps and now I have them really bad. During the trip we are going to make a couple rest stops off the bus. I can't put a pad in my pocket because it will be obvious..This is going to ruin my whole trip! I won't feel well and all my friends are going to have fun. I can't bring medicine either...it isn't allowed. I might have to wear a couple pads at once and like two pairs of underwear until I can quitely try to change it. Please help me get through this because I don't know what to do! I will remember this trip forever too. =/

tampax compax were made just for you, while in the package they are tiny, about half the size of a pen. also im seriously doubting the legality of not allowing medicine. if you have a perscription, and they dont let you take it with you, and then something happens to you on the trip, you can sue for major amounts of money. im not sure what kind of medicine (or wether or not its prescription or not) is used for this sort of case but if it is prescrioption they pretty mcuh have to let you take it. if not you can always try sneaking some in, unless they search you, wich is also illegal. how enjoyable is this trip gonna be, and is it mandatory? if something bad happens on the trip you can always bleed in your clothes (bring something old that you wont mind ruining) and then taking it up to a teacher and saying this is what happens when i dont have my medicine. theres also the option of not being secretive, most girls in your class have probably had their period by now (you didnt give me an age so i cant know for sure) so it isnt really all that embarassing to have to change your pad, dont broadcast it to the bus, but it wont really be that bad if someone finds out. if you need more help drop one one in my inbox.

Take a handbag or something relatively small on the bus, so you can keep pads in that. Also, you can try using tampons, put having a pad in at the same time. As for bringing medicine, there are 3 options. Get your mum or dad or some kind of adult to write you a note saying "my daughter/niece/or whatever NEEDS to take paracetomol/pain killers on this trip as she is having very bad period pains." yes it is highly embarrasing but it will mean you'll be able to take paracetomol. Secondly, you could always just TAKE THE PARACETOMOL!! Its your right to make yourself feel better, and i hardly think they'll be doing drug tests for you to test for paracetomols or something similar. And thirdly you can just not take anything and pray that the flow lightens. There are some good tips on the always website and other companies give good tips for calming nerves/cramps etc so check it out on google or something! Good luck and hope the trip is fun!!

Will any of your friends have theirs too? If you need to take medicine for your cramps then the best thing is to talk to or get your mum to talk to a member of staff as you obviously need to take something otherwise you will have a really bad trip. Can you take a small bag of some sort and fit your pads in there? Wear a couple of pads if you want and if you buy ones specifically for night-time they will last longer. You have to think about your comfort. Wear as many pads and as many pairs of pants as you want because no one is going to know or find out! Just as long as you feel comfortable. Good Luck!

first of all..no one gives a fuck your on your period. every girl in the world gets it. its not abnormal, so being embarrassed about people seeing your pad is rediculous. also, no one is going to search your pockets and bags before you get on your bus. if you take medicine..no one will know except you, and god. third..if you dont use tampons, talk to your mom about it. they are a lot more comfortable and easier than pads. also if you use them you could double up. use a tampon and a pad, and youll be just fine.

Could you take a purse or something with you? This way, you won't have to carry the pad in your pocket. If you don't want anyone to find it, maybe put it in wrapping paper of some sort, and pretend it's something else. Maybe you could tell a teacher that you're having your period, and you might need to stop a little more often. If it's possible, have your mom write a note explaining your situation. Good luck! Send me something if you need more help. ♥ Kristen

Take a really hot bath tonight, and try to flush yourself out. THis may help. With me it was always the first day that was the worst, so maybe tomorrow will be better

What you could do is take a purse with you. Put a few pads or however many you think you need in the purse. When you get to a rest stop change it. Also they make ultra thick pads for people who bleed heavy. Try them. They really work. Good luck and I hope everything works out for the best.

about the medicine, i usually sneak motrin personally. if one of your friends moms is chaperoning, you could have them hide supplies to avoid it accidently opening, revealing it all to the class. usually moms carry a big bag and wouldnt mind helping out since they have been there, done that. good luck and try to have fun! <3

take a purse with you. keep all your pads and or tampons in too. also if yyou need to bring an extra pair of underware. wearing a couple of pads will not work my the way. the blood wont go through the sticky stuff and the lining. also wear a tampon(if you have them) with a heavy pad. there for you wont even have to worry. and by tomorrow your period might accually not be as heavy. sometimes in your period it gets realy heavy one day and then its perfectly normal the other. good luck

Aww, hunny! Bring a purse and hide your pads in one of the compartments. Or, try tampons (preferably pearl they are the most easisest and comfortable *in my opinion*). Hopefully, your period will be gone by then or atleast slow down a bit. Good luck, and I hope you have fun!
