sorry i didn't know where to put this so i just put it here .. well a few weeks ago i found out that i was pregnant. i decided that im going to have the baby but the problem is that i have an eating disorder. i know it's probably bad for the baby but i've been doing it for so long that i can't stop. Does anyone know how badly it can hurt the baby or what it can do to it?

clotito answered Tuesday April 19 2005, 10:33 pm: Go tell an adult you trust. That's the hard part. The rest they will help you with. If you don't fix the eating disorder the baby will die and an untreated miscarriage can be fatal to the mother as well, namely you. I'm sorry that you have to go through something this difficult, especially when you are so young. You will be in my thoughts. [ clotito's advice column | Ask clotito A Question ]

lilangelshan08 answered Tuesday April 19 2005, 8:06 am: eating disorders can cause you to miscarry, in reality you're killing your baby if you don't stop, all of the food that a pregnant woman eats has nutriants that go to the baby so it can begin to develop and be healthy, if you're not eating or you're binging and purging then you're really hurting your child's chances of survival [ lilangelshan08's advice column | Ask lilangelshan08 A Question ]

Daisy answered Monday April 18 2005, 5:33 am: It will harm the baby because you will not be giving it the right vitamins and nutrients it needs to grow and survive. You have to start thinking that you are now in charge of somebody who is totally relying on you to survive and look after them. If you don't go and see a doctor or help then your baby will have problems and can easily be born handicapped or with other disalbilities. [ Daisy's advice column | Ask Daisy A Question ]
Miss_Lily answered Monday April 18 2005, 1:42 am: It can cause your baby to be born prematurely and have lifelong health conditions. If you care anything about yourself or your child, then you will tell your doctor about your health condition and get help for it as soon as possible. Your child is innocent in this, and he/she shouldn't have to live with lifelong health problems because of your carelessness. I know that having an eating disorder is a mental and lifelong condition, but with the right supervision, treatment and help, it can be taken under control and you can have a healthy baby. icey0990 answered Sunday April 17 2005, 11:04 am: An eating disorder will definately hurt the baby. The baby is young and growing and it NEEDS food. If your depriving the baby of food..it will not surrivive. Now is the time to be eating good so your child will surrvive and be healthy..after you have the baby worry about shedding a few pounds (the right way)

xoMarisox answered Sunday April 17 2005, 9:26 am: Well, I think you are doing the right thing about having the baby.. it shows you have a lot of courage. You should really start eating. Here are some things that may be ok for you:
Breakfast: Toast and friut
Lunch: A salad and maybe a lil something else.
Dinner: Try Pasta, or chicken, or something. Just try to get something in you every day. Not just like a grape, but you know, something for every meal. You are going to be wanting to eat more because you will be feeding for two. It may hurt teh baby a bit so please start to eat! Good luck with everything! Write me for any more questions. mrs_radcliffe answered Sunday April 17 2005, 6:44 am: It will hurt the baby of course it will if the baby isnt getting enough food and different types then it could die from the wron amounts. You need to see some body and you need to tell your parents. 14 is way to young to handle a baby on your own.
TheTeenGirl answered Sunday April 17 2005, 2:42 am: My question for you is, do your parents know any of this? Because they are the only ones you can turn to right now. You can't take care of a baby on your own, and you can't quit your eating disorder on your own, you need your support system right now. You can definetly use their help. I know you're scared of their reaction, but soon they will move on and help you, they can not and will not stay mad at you forever, they will just be under some stress. But, you've got to ask for help, or you will have this baby killed. You are putting 2 lives in danger right now, and you need to get yourself out of it. Yes, you are going to harm the baby if you keep doing this, so please get help and you won't have to deal with this problem on your own. If you need some help or ideas with how you'll ask them for help, then go ahead and "inbox" me, this is important, and I'll be glad to help you through it.
suzbird answered Sunday April 17 2005, 1:33 am: Ok you need to stop. Talk to you parents/ or a counselor, but talk to someone. Tell them what is happening and get some help. A baby needs nutrients and food. You need to eat. Depending on which eating disorder you have, it could miscarriage. [ suzbird's advice column | Ask suzbird A Question ]
