well my dads birthday is coming up and im not sure what to get him. hes in his 40s and when we ask him what he wants he always says you dont need to get me anything. i dont want to spend alot of money and i what to get him something that is useful to him. he really likes sports and stuff. i would like to get him something at a local mall or something rather than take him somewhere because im only 15 and can't drive or anything. my max price is around $20.
please help me my dads bday is in less than 2 weeks
Maybe next year you could get him like a Sports DvD or.. if you can drive you can take him out to lunch or dinner. And if you spend more than 20$ you can take him to a sports game.
Poppsie answered Saturday April 16 2005, 6:08 am: Well why dont you get him at ticket for a game of baseball, hockey or football because you said he doesnt go to the games watches them at home. He probaly would like to be at the game rather than watch at home. It would be something he woul remeber his 40th bday by. [ Poppsie's advice column | Ask Poppsie A Question ]

missdesiree answered Friday April 15 2005, 2:17 am: It can be very hard to buy a gift for a person who wont tell you what they want! My dad is the same way, and it drives me bonkers!
You have several choices. You could get him a gift certificate for a pay-per-view sports event. Or a book or video on his favorite sport. You could buy a tv tray and fill it with snacks and beverages to share. But my very best advise would be to have your picture made and framed. Every Dad loves pictures of their children.
The bottom line: If your able to say "Dad, I'm buying you a gift no matter what, so tell me what you really want!", you can stop the guessing game. [ missdesiree's advice column | Ask missdesiree A Question ]

Since he likes football, baseball, hockey, maybe you could get him a jersey. I got one for $15.00 and I'm sure you could find one too. Maybe get him like a special T.V remote holder so when he watches the games he can put it there.

Michele answered Thursday April 14 2005, 3:56 pm: Here is something different and manly..... a pair of binoculars, they come in all price ranges, I am not sure if you can find a pair for $20.00, but it is worth a shot. He will be able to see better at sporting events. Up close and personal!

therocketsummer answered Wednesday April 13 2005, 5:00 pm: Think sentimentally. You can't go wrong. Think of his favorite hobby, fishing, golfing, flying. Anything at all and try and find something that relates to it. My dad likes to fly, so I found a model airplane and made it for him. Yes, it was store bought, but it came from the heart. Be creative! If he likes motorcycles you could get a lego kit, like i did with my dad's present, and make a motorcycle out of it. Anything at all!
Also, you could make him something like a booklet of coupons good for one thing such as cleaning the car, cleaning the house, doing the dishes after dinner, etc. etc. Make 10-15 of them. ♥ [ therocketsummer's advice column | Ask therocketsummer A Question ]
