Im not real sure how old you are, but from the first time you start your period it may or may not be regular, but it can change from its regular ways to another way anytime it gets ready, something may be causing your body to be late on having your period, such as, stress, too much excersize, or changing your eating habits. Sometimes when your egg ovulates during the month its just not enough to make your period very heavy. Theres a very rare chance that something is wrong, your body is just changing, get use to it, it will probably happen more than once.

Awww I would go to the doctors. I know it might be embarassing but it could sort it out. Even though its the first time this happened I would still see a specialist. That way you will know if theres something wrong with your body or if it was just a skip in the cycle of life. If you don't want to see a doctor alone have your best friend come with you or a parent or someone really close. That way it wont be as difficult for you and you'll have support. I really hope my advice helped. Good luck I hope nothigns the matter.

Well your period can change, even when its been regular forever. It can change from heavy to light by what your diet is (too much junk or really healthy), how much physical activity your doing either too much or too little, and how much stress you are under. It's probably one of those things. I wouldn't worry, just re-analyze the situation with one of the things I told you and let me know whats up.

hailebop answered Thursday March 10 2005, 9:51 am:
As others have said, it's normal for your periods to be irregular sometimes. Even those who are blessed with predictable cycles occassionally have off months where their body behaves differently. Are you under stress? Have you changed your diet recently? Have you been travelling (I always find that long-distance travel plays absolute havoc with my cycle. I hate flying for this reason)? There are many reasons why your body could be behaving differently, so don't worry. If things don't return to your normal pattern next month and you are concerned, have a word with your doctor for reassurance, as they'll be able to talk through anything specific about your lifestyle that might cause erratic periods suddenly - but otherwise, don't worry.

chaos answered Thursday March 10 2005, 9:00 am:
There are many different factors that can affect your period to make it late: change in diet, exercise, or emotion. I usually have one period that is really heavy and the next month it might be lighter. If you are very young, it can be intermittent for a year or so. If you continue to have problems, you can go to the gynecologist for help. They can actually prescribe birth control to make it less heavy and more regular.

Just be thankful you got your period and you are not pregnant.

I can only tell you what my gf's over the years have told me but that is that sometimes their bodies do weird things. No explanation, no reason, they just do. Relax.

yes, until youre older your period wil not be very regualr, in time, and in intensity. from what i hear birth vontrol pills help regulate your period. but for now jsut be happy that you dont have to go through a box of tampons a day.
