Do you have any little cousins that you could help out with? That always helps. I do that sometimes for my Aunt because she's always busy. Do you have any friends maybe that need help with their brothers and sisters? Try that and let me know how it works out.

Online advertising wouldn't be safe in my opinion. Any perverted old geezer could ask you to come round to his house.
The best thing to do is advertise round your local area with flyers, asking neighbours, asking your parents to see if they have any friends who need babysitting, any family members of yours might need babysitting.
There's no end of ways =)
Good luck.

I don't think soliciting babysitting jobs over the internet is a very good idea. It's not very safe- you don't know who you're dealing with over the internet, and just like they say about chatrooms, there are a lot of perverts out there.

A better option would be to go around your neighborhood. Talk to any of your neighbors that you already know who have little kids- let them know that you've taken this class, and that you're available as a babysitter.

You could make fliers and give them to your neighbors, too.

Another place to look for babysitting clients is at church, if you go to a church. Corner parents as they pick up their little tykes after nursery. Put a flier on a bulletin board where people can see.

Do your parents have any friends with little kids? Ask them to spread the word that you're looking for babysitting jobs.

If you have younger siblings, let the parents of their friends know that you babysit.

I'm sure there are lots of parents in your community looking for a great babysitter. You just have to know how to find them. Good luck!

Little_Miss_Cant_Be_Wrong answered Sunday March 6 2005, 10:02 pm:
First, you need to make your babysitting skills known. Talk to relatives, or friends parents, and mention the babysitting class you've taken, and ask them to put in a good word for you if they know someone with little kids. Maybe your parents, relatives, or friends parents have coworkers that have little kids. If you ask around enough, you will find some connections. Don't be pushy or pester people, just make sure they know you are available and qualified. One of the best possible places to look is in your own neighborhood. This is ideal because, since your young, you can't drive yet. If you know a family in your own neighborhood you wouldn't need a ride. Also, if you belong to a church, check and see if any of the members need a babysitter. Often, the church will have a newsletter that says current happenings and services needed by chuch members. Ask if you could put a paragraph in there about babysitting services. Hope that helps, good luck!

You could go to stores and post flyers that say you babysit... or you could have your parents ask some of their friends if they ever need a babysitter. Hopefully you'll find someone soon!
