A lot of girls suffer from Anoxeria and Bulimia, so you're not in this struggle alone. One of the main problems is the society today has built up this perfect image they think all girls should look like. You can find it in supermodels, magazines, tv shows... you name it. Don't get sucked into the media world! You have a God that created you, and loves you for who you are; he made you to look the way you look... and in his eyes you're perfect. You're not fat, and you don't need to lose weight. If you need further help, I would suggest seeing a counselor before this becomes any worse. Hope your situation gets better!

To overcome this feeling isn't as hard as you may think. You just need to come to the realization that you are skinny. You want some help? Look at all the obese people at your school. Watch "Shallow Hal". Hun, be fortunate that you're blessed with a petite body. A lot of people have it worse off than you, you're not as "fat" as you think. Come to that realization and you'll get over it.
Also, why are you forcing yourself to throw up? Don't you realize that girls your age halfway around the world are lucky enough to eat that amount of food you almost threw up? It's a waste!
Hopefully, this isn't for a guy...remember, guys like girls with a HEALTHY weight, not girls who are bone thin and malnourished. Even so, a good guy is a guy that likes you for who you are, not how much you weigh.
Just for the record, you have to EAT to be skinny. As contradictory as that may sound, by starving yourself you're only slowing down your metabolism making you more susceptible to gaining the pounds. Why? When you deprive yourself like that, any food you take in your body will grab those calories and fat and store them in case you starve yourself again. Your body is just using a mechanism to keep you alive...that's why people who constantly diet on and off are the overweight ones. If you get back to eating, your metabolism will slowly go up and you'll be able to burn the calories.
That's what I don't understand about girls with EDs. The true key to losing weight is eating healthy and exercising. Now who ever thought THAT would work? :)

S_C answered Wednesday March 2 2005, 6:20 am: Well you could always try going to your school councilor, but I will warn if, if you don't want your parents to know, then that is not your best bet. School guidance councilors have to tell your parents when you're in any kind of danger, so I think that would qualify, but not completley sure. But I used to be anorexic, and I was for lke a little more than 2 years, it is a hard habit to stop once you've started, now I just learned to live with the way I look. But bulemia is also the healthier of the two. After a while it won't be as healthy becaues you'll like kill your stomach, and your vocal cords, but what I mean by healthier is that at least you'll get food in you, and depending on when you thro up, you might actually get the nutrients and stuff you need. But yeah, you should talk to a teacher/friend/parent/relative that you trust, or just try to see the guidance councilor.

Warnstedt answered Wednesday March 2 2005, 3:17 am: First off, this feeling is normal for 14 year-old girls. its all part of puberty. i am an 18 year-old male and i have a slight anorexia problem. im 5' 10" and weigh 135 lbs. im not telling you this to demean ur problem, im simply saying it to let you know that even guys have this problem, even if they are 18. In the U.S. its hard not to feel fatter than everyone else when our role models are so incredibly unhealthy thin. My advice, talk to a school councilor or intervention specialist and let them know that you've been haveing these thoughts. Also, ingore America's insane facination with being paper thin to be pretty. its just flat out not true. if your problem consists, seek professional help imediately. anorexia/bulimia is very hard to stop once its starts and should never be taken lightly. you made a good choice in asking for help before you fell into that trap. greencard answered Wednesday March 2 2005, 12:19 am: Okay, you just made me feel like I should think I'm fat. You need some counseling, you are not even close to underweight, so don't even think that. Counseling will help you, just go see a shrink. If you don't want your parents to know, have a friend, aunt, or cousin that won't tell them take you. [ greencard's advice column | Ask greencard A Question ]
